TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers vs. Grizzlies

Another easy W for this Laker team. They are now 9-2 on the season against under .500 teams. This was a blowout from the tip-off. The Lakers continued their outstanding shooting with 53% from the field and even better from behind the arc. Again, the Lakers dished out 26 assists as a team and FINALLY only had 14 turnovers. That is what they should be averaging.

The Lakers also remained undefeated when their entire starting lineup scores in double figures. The 51 points from the Lakers backcourt tonight was just too much for Memphis to handle. Memphis’s starting backcourt of Conley and Gay each went 5-15 from the field. It was just a smooth game for the Lakers with great defensive plays all night as they had 13 steals. Now, the bests of the day:

Top 3 Laker performers:

1) Derek Fisher shot lights out tonight with him mom in the arena. 10-11 FGs including 5-5 from three point land on his way to 26 points. Great game Fish!

2) While Lamar couldn’t make a lay-up tonight, he did everything else. He grabbed 15 boards and dished out 6 assists and played good D on Gasol all night.

3) Many other Lakers played well, but Ariza came off the bench and had a huge impact on defense. His 3 steals and a block were huge for the Lakers tonight.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): I didn’t really feel like the Lakers had an STD today. No one played that bad. Maybe Javaris who shot 0-2? I could always give it to Cook for old times sake…I’ll let you guys pick tonight.

Key play of the game: Luke’s over the head pass to Fish for his 5th and final three point basket.

What to look for next game: I really don’t know. The Lakers are playing amazing! But the Hornets are good and beat us at Staples already. If we can hold CP3 to under 7 assists, Lakers win. Game is Wednesday @ 5:00 PM on KCAL locally.
