What a start to a road trip! You can pretty much sum this game up for the Lakers with 29 assists and only 11 turnovers. Almost a 3-1 ratio there. The Lakers only shot 43%, but got to the line 28 times sinking 23 of them. They also grabbed 17 offensive rebounds, and just played a great overall team game.

Our bigs did a great job keeping Ben Wallace off the boards and help him to 5 all game. Deng was the only Bull that really hurt us, with 26 points. The Lakers had all 5 starters score double figures and were led by Sasha with 19 off the bench. Now, the bests of the night…

Top 3 Laker performers:

1) Andrew Bynum was controlling the paint tonight. 17 points, 10 boards, 3 assists, and 4 blocked shots. Best of all, Ben Wallace only had 2 and 5 tonight.

2) Lamar Odom was solid all nit. He had 17 points on 6-11 shooting, grabbed 16 boards, and didn’t have a turnover all night (finally!)

3) Sasha came off the bench and provided the spark we needed. 19 points on 10 shots, including 2 threes. Great game Sasha!

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest):

Vlad Rad seemed kinda out of it tonight. 0-3 in 10 minutes and didn’t have much of an impact.

Key play of the game: Bynum’s tip dunk off Farmar’s missed floater.

What to look for next game: A fun game to watch. Should be a fast paced game. Hopefully we get to see Kobe and LBJ guard each other. Game is Thursday night @ 5:00 PM (Also on TNT).

Kobe sure missed a lot of shots tonight and Fisher’s outside shoot was MIA tonight. At least we got a win. Hopefully we can sweep this roadtrip.

Just curious… Why haven’t we considered going after Bosh?

  • Nabil

The real challenge will be Friday night in Philly right after taking on Lebron and the Cavs. Traveling back to backs are tough. The nice thing about next weeks games against the Suns, Jazz, and Celtics are that they are all home games with days off between. So at least we’ll be rested for those tougher teams.

bosh is probably “untouchable” like dwight is.

I remember a couple years ago before Bosh signed a new deal with Toronto, Phil made an indirect comment about Bosh and his abilities. Something about how they would flurish in the triangle. That was then and this is now though, for Toronto to even consider a deal it would have to be for an unbelievable package. Something they just could not turn down, and we don’t have that. Great game last night, hope we can keep figure out a way to sustain that level of play for the rest of the year.

Pretty good game defensively particularly in the 4th quarter. Kobe and Fish were a little off in the first half but guys like Sasah, Luke, Odom, Farmar (he didn’t score but he did a solid job running the offense) stepped up and played well. Bynum seems to be getting better every game on the defensive end. He is really learning when to go for the block and when to just make the player shoot over him since he is so long. This keeps him out of foul trouble. He is also starting to develop an attitude on the defensive end. There was a player where Aaron Gray did a little turn around jump shot. Bynum just waited for the Shot then swatted it away then looked Gray like “is that the best you have.” I am really starting to like this kid.

I actually believe Bynum only had 12 points… still a good game though

Bryant was stunned when he first heard about fans at the United Center chanting his name early this season. “A couple of my friends played against the Bulls when that took place,” Bryant said. “They called me after they played them and said they heard something that was just the craziest thing they had ever seen. I was shocked by it.” …

Why would the Raptors trade their franchise player?

  • Michael_23

This is what we were all hoping to see from Sasha after the Mo Evans trade. Sasha was never going to get the minutes but since Mo left, Sasha has been playing well offensively and is known for his scrappy defense against other PG.

    Good work Sasha.

the lakers are #1 in the west.. on espn john hollingers playoff predictor! i think that pretty much means for that there is not a stretch in their schedule as difficult as their start. either way… kinda cool as a Laker fan.

  • lakerfan81

Actually according to the predicted records the Lakers would have the 3rd best record in the West behind SA, PHX. I don’t think they are that good, but I think a 4-6 ranking is realistic barring any major injuries.
