The Lakers continued their dominance away from home tonight with a 106-97 victory in Charlotte. It was led by the Lakers all night, but the game wasn’t put out of reach until the final minute. The Lakers played a good clean game offensively, shooting 50% from the field and 85% from the line.
The Lakers had 24 assists on the night and only 13 turnovers. However, on defense, they gave up 50% shooting and 12 offensive boards to the Bobcats. Felton had a monster game tonight scoring 29 points and dishing out 8 assists. Also get this, Gasol and Odom played only 60 minutes combined. Now, the bests of the night:
Top 3 Laker performers:
1) PAU!!! 26 points on 9-11 shooting, 6 boards, 6 assists, only 1 turnover and 2 blocks. Stats say it all.
2) Kobe again finishes in the top 2 punch for the Lakers. 31 points on 9-17 shooting, including 4 threes and 9-9 from the stripe. He also had 5 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks (DPOY maybe?)
3) Many other Lakers played well including Ronny and Farmar, but Lamar quietly did the little things for the Lakers tonight. 8 points on 6 shots, 10 boards, 5 assists, a steal and a block.
Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Even though Fisher shot 1-8, he still helped do the little things. Tonight, Sasha was careless with the ball and didn’t have his jumper going. He needs to pump fake before he passes!
Key play of the game: Kobe’s dunk from Gasol in the paint.
