haloThis game just got more exciting my the minute. Unfortunately I had to watch the game without volume, so I missed all the fun with Kobe and Artest, but this was a thriller.

Kobe had an MVP-like performance in tonight’s come from behind victory over Houston. With Odom out, it was all the starters tonight.

The Lakers forced the Rockets into 5-28 threes and forced 23 turnovers! The Lakers themselves shot 50% and had 15 steals. Kobe really took the game over and carried the Lakers tonight.

Great to see the team win a big game on the road with Lamar out.

Now, the bests of the night…

Top 3 Laker Performers

1) Kobe. 37, 5, and 6 with 4 steals. He destroyed the final 5 minutes.

2) Pau had 20 points and 5 boards with 4 steals.

3) Powell”s 17 and 9 on 8-14 shooting were just what the Lakers needed with Lamar out.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Fisher took TERRIBLE shots all night and finished 3-9.

Play of the Game: Kobe’s last jumper.

What to Look for Next Game: A big game in San Antonio. The Lakers will be tired from tonight, but always do well in the big games.

Ticket Info: Next home game is Sunday vs. Dallas. Prices are high, but we have a special for Tuesday’s game vs. Philadelphia. E-Mail me at Steve@AveryTickets.com or call 213-221-7681 and mention TLN for tickets.

Go Lakers!

i think luke did a bad job as well

  • bynumite

Great game!! Crappy first half but an awesome second half!! Kobe ownded, and the rest of the team, especially Pau and Powell ( we will get James Worthy to pronounce them differently) delivered!

  • lilkobe24

    KOBE BLOCK MAN

  • Sako

Fish started off good, 3-3 shooting. But he seemed somewhat AWOL after that.

  • http://yahoo.com King Lebronze James

i hate it when they win!

  • purpleandgold323

Sorry king leBRONZE james.. But, you’ll be feeling a lot of hate coz the lakers are just gonna keep on winning.. And yes, lebron will probably finish with bronze if not silver..

  • BostonBlowsMyBalls

The whole bench has been sucking donkey d1ck lately. If you’re not going to score, at least play some freakin defense. Fluke, Farmer, and Vujabiatch. These guys need to focus and remove the poles out of their a$$es. I’d rather take their minuites and give them to Daco, Brown, and Morrison. At least they would try to get us more production on both ends of the court.

I guess O-Dumb was the x-factor. He was out one game, and we won. What a surprise! He better not pull off another disappearing act against the spurs.

  • Enrico

yeah i am concerned with our bench. what the hell are they doing? they aint playing basketball. we cant win it with this bench display. they have to show up. if not i’d rather try my luck with Daco Brown and Morrison. Lets beat the spurs tom.

  • David

I don’t know what happened in the 2nd half. All of a sudden we started playing defense. If we played defense consistently, I think we can easily win 70 games.

Also, Lakers are damn near unbeatable when 3 starters have good games. Tonight it was kobe, pau, and powell.

  • the ape

can’t knock luke in this game. he made a sacrifice great for chemistry and selflessness coming off the bench and facilitated for the team really well in this game

Pretty simple- when we fell behind Luke, Jordan and Sasha were on the floor. Starting the second half and for almost all of the 3rd quarter these three were not.

    Great job tonight Josh Powell!
You earned more playing time in my book.

  • LakerPoetBR

    Saint Kobe.
    Nice W. Gotta get’em boiz,

  • ukuga

All three of the MVP candidates had “MVP” performances this week.

    But, Kobe’s was the best.

Wade’s was created, in part, by his own mis-firings at the free-throw line at the end of the first OT.

Lebron’s was against the Clippers, and even though he carried his team back, Bill Simmons’ used the game as Exhibit A for the Clippers incompetence under Dunleavy.

But Kobe. He took on one of the scariest men in the NBA, and ended the Rockets 12 game home winning streak.

Kobe is the best in the game.

  • king.manu

great win. and now the spurs. good we get a rested and hungry odom back for this game. i hope he is gonna give us a little boost

  • Beef

Powell was way better, than Gasol, you gotta show some love

  • Doc Eddie Davis

The Lakers got lucky. They will not get to the finals because they do not play defense. The Celtics will repeat this year. Boston Fans, FEELIN YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://TheLakersNation.info Billy Kupchak

This game just got more exciting by the minute.

BTW, TLN! is FEELIN YOUr loss to The Heat!

  • lakerpurpleandgold

DFish started out hot, but might as well be retarded for fouling a jump shot especially behind the ark especially that late in the game. Sparked a 6-0 run and KOBE had to come with the ice in his blood and son Ron Artest.

Doc Rivers is a hack of coach! He did a sh*t job prior to KG arriving.

You know what’s great, the “undermanned” Boston Suckdics lost to Miami where the “undermanned” Lakers go into Houston and WIN!

F*ck the Boston Suckdics. It’s a great day when the Lakers win and the Suckdics LOSE.

The curse of Marbury has ARRIVED – First the below .500 Clippers, now the below .500 Heat – hahaha

  • jason

    actually LakersFirst..miama is 6 games over .500

  • Doc Eddie Davis

The Lakers will never win a championship ever again!!! You cannot win a championship with Lamar Odom on your team. PERIOD!!!

  • Eidraq

kb played out of his mind today…this would be the ideal game for kb..set up in the beginning..get urself going a little before the quarter, explode in the second half..great game

and as well as pau played, josh powell was superb..he should have been number 2 esp since pau grabbed only 5 boards…nonetheless he boxed out yao better than before so not bad

  • ilikebasketball

Anyone catch that idiot rob petersen’s new race to the mvp? it’s called ‘Battle for Second’. between kobe and wade. disgusting. How is someone allowed to write for the nba.com with such utterly disgusting bias?

So what are you going to do when the Suckdics become irrelevent again for 22 years, like they were from 1986 to last year?
