pumpThe Lakers continue to impress in the second half of road games with their 57th win tonight in Detroit.

Tonight was all about defense as the Lakers held the Pistons to shooting under 30% from the field and scoring one 77 points.

Kwame Brown looked like his old self with 2 points and 6 boards in 27 minutes.

The second quarter really stunk, but the Lakers bounced back.

The Lakers really did a bit of anything tonight with good shooting, good free throws, 23 assists to 13 turnovers and 8 steals as a team.

Let’s hope the Lakers can continue to play like this on the road, especially as we roll into April.

Now, the bests of the night…

Top 3 Laker Performers

1)  Kobe’s 30 points, 8 boards, and 7 assists were just too much for Detroit tonight.

2)  Lamar did a bit of everything with 12 points, 10 boards, 7 assists and 3 steals.

3)  Fisher hit some big shots and played solid defense all night.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Powell took some bad shots and the Lakers were outscored by 14 when he was on the court.

Play of the Game:  Kobe’s last few plays in the fourth where he was basically toying with Detroit.

What to Look for Next Game:  Friday night game in New Jersey.  Should be another win.

Ticket Info: Next home game is not until April so if any of you want to support the Lakers on the road, let me know.  E-Mail me at or call 213-221-7681 and mention TLN for tickets.

Go Lakers!

  • Lakers 24 7

Detroit is a damn fool if they think Stuckey is their future point guard. Will Bynum is a beast. They should build around that guy. Dude got quickness, he got handles, he can get to the rim, he can create for others. Stuckey just looks like a 50 Cent wannabe.

  • zgum

    Bynum’s really impressive tonight…

    Anyways, good W game Lakers!

  • Dave

Tonight was the 57th win of the season with 11 games still left to go… last year they ended with 57 wins total, so lets all appreciate the improvement over last season, eh?

haha yea… but it sorta doesn’t count. we had kwame for 3 months. haha

Thank you starters for getting the lead back. Thank you PJ for limiting the bench bums playing time. The bench bums suck major donkey kong d1ick! Bynum DESTROYED the bench bums all by himself. The bench bums don’t play defense and take dumba$$ shots.

Sure the bench bums play decent against d-league teams, but they suck against defensive teams. Pow-wow, Farmer, Fluke, and Vujabrick are all in the minus.

The formula for success = defense + KB has to be +50% shooting + limiting bench bums PT

  • Heron

finally: decent efficiant productivity from Kobe tonight.

There are great players in the game today and then, there is KB24. I know ESPN and the NBA is trying to force feed that young man name Lebron on us and I dont want to diminish Lebron or other great players in the game today. Such as D-Wade or C-Paul. With respect to ESPN and the NBA I do have a mind of my own and my own opinion. My opinion is that Mr Bryant is only second to MJ as the best player ever. I havent seen a player since Jordan that plays at that level and with that passsion as Kobe does. I was a Bull and Laker fan as a young buck because I dont live in LA or have an nba team where I live. My point is I’ve followed both teams in Jordans era and now with Bryant. To me this man is second to only Mike. I never got a chance to see Jordan on the court and I hate that I didnt. Bryant to me has about 4 to 5 more years before his exit. I want to have the privilege and the pleasure of seeing Mr Bryant before he leaves. Laker Nation embrace and appreciate the blessing that is Kobe Bryant before it’s to late. He is simply amazing. Go Lakers!!!

Tonite’s play of the game was that PJ time out when the Lakers were down by 10. I dunno what he said during, but that was a SUPER STAR POWER TIME OUT , and i’m talking Guitar Hero and Super Mario Bros – style STAR POWER, cause the Lakers then went on a 30 to 5 run and creamed the Pistons.

We need PJ to stock up on a couple of those Super Time Outs to use during the Finals against the Cavs for when LeHype takes his usual 5 steps to the basket and dunks with an And-One gift from the refs.

I noticed right when the bench was put in at the beginning of the 2nd is when Detroit went on a 15-1 run…. and when we lost our lead.
Our “bench mob” needs to step up

Who is writing these post-game reports? Did you graduate grade school? Please find someone who knows how to write correctly. It’s embarrassing.

    great analysis hahaha

  • Kobe couldn’t do it without me

Big deal. The Lakers beat a depleted Pistons team. The Lakers will go down this year. They will lose in the second round to avoid the humiliation of losing back to back finals to the CELTS. CELTIC PRIDE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beef

    fuck you

  • David

Pistons fans are so stupid. I was at the game last night and every time Kobe hit a shot in the 2nd half, I would just stand up, do a 360, pump my jersey and get yelled at. It was fun, the Pistons suck.

4 or 5 more years?? What are you nuts. He has about 8 more good years left. Kobe is skilled enough that he won’t need his athleticism when he doesn’t have it anymore and he can still be effective. Plus, by then Bynum will be dominating the NBA and Kobe won’t have to do nearly as much. It will be the exact opposite of what Magic and Kareem did. It will be beautiful.

no kobe haters?30 on 18 shots!if kobe gets the bounce we’re all happy.for me I never hate kobe for taking too many shots if it does not count so what?if we loose we lose, and thats part of the game.I want kobe to win MVP it doesn’t matter if he’s a ballhog co’z we’re just going to see him for how many years left, and it would make me happy if he retires the greatest.Im 30 same as kobe if he left the court I’ll make sure myself that i will witness his last game, and I will realize what does the jordan lovers felt.Im a laker fan but more as a kobe fan since he came all i want now is kobe to win the mvp it doesn’t if we’re not no.1 co’z i never doubt that we could not win the ship.coz I always think were no.1

  • 7r@cy

Derek played solid defense all night? I don’t recall seeing that. The only players that played solid defense through out the whole game were Lamar, Trevor, and Kobe.

  • Billy Kupchak

“Tonight was all about defense as the Lakers held the Pistons to shooting under 30% from the field and scoring only 77 points.”

TLN! should be reading w/o mistakes in spelling or grammar, ya feel me?
