Another sluggish start. Another entertaining win for the Lake Show! It seems that no matter how terrible this team plays, we can still pull out wins.

I know I say it in every post game report, but I love this teams depth. Every game we have different people finishing. Tonight, Lamar and Ariza stepped in to close the game.

The Lakers won the game with defense in the end as they had 13 steals as a team and held Dallas to under 42%. Offensively, the Lakers did their thing, with tip dunks and fadeaways from Kobe.

Now, the bests of the night…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Pau once again stepped up. 22 points and 13 rebounds from Pau were the difference in this game.

2) Ariza had 13 points, 6 boards, and 3 steals. He also had the potential game saving block. Great game, Trevor!

3) Kobe was Mr. 4th quarter again as he finished with 27 points on 50% shooting.

Honorable Mention: Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum, both played superb.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): D-Fish did the little things. But when you shoot 1-8, you kind of deserve the STD.

Play of the Game: Let’s see… we have Kobe’s tip dunk, Pau’s, Ariza’s block, Ariza’s dunk… you pick.

What to Look for Next Game: The Lakers have a very tough one in New Orleans should it go down to the wire. Good thing is, no Laker played more than 35 minutes tonight.

Ticket Info: Next home game is Friday vs. A.I. and the Pistons. Inventory is pretty low and prices are pretty high… might want to save up next week for the Bulls and/or Nuggets. Email me at Steve@AveryTickets.com or call 818-387-8224 and mention TLN.

Go Lakers!

The great thing about it was, we never gave up no matter how many times Dallas answered to our runs. We gave it all. Lakers>>>>>

Fantastic finish to a game where you KNEW their defense made the difference. It’s nice to see the Lakers hang around in games by locking and tightening down on DEFENSE!

  • Vida8

Ariza dunk was play of the game no question…kobe’s dunk was nice too.

anyways they better start good 2morow.

i for one say drop radmonovic and start arizaaaaaaaaaaa

Guy (above) need to chill out about starting Ariza. Ariza is great but Vlade brings a different element to the starters. By bringing Vlade to the bench would actually weaken the bench since we already have a pure shooter in Sasha.

Plus, Ariza is a spark off the bench that the Lakers need when they’re down.

The offense was not clicking at all, the Lakers shot an abysmal 15% from the three-point line … that should be the STD, our three point shooting.

Thank goodness Fish’s “airball” landed in Pau’s hands or the game would have been ugly.

Good to see Drew and Pau get double doubles tonight.

LOVE Trevor’s energy and effort in EACH game. He is consistently, along with Pau and Kobe, playing really well. I’m like on this Trevor Ariza high, can’t get enough of what he brings to the games each and every night.I really hope to see him and the bench mob keep this up.

It’s really amazing how the 2nd unit is always bringing us back in the ball games.

I have to say though, I’m really impressed with the Mavs. They always play really well against us … for some odd reason … like they get really amped up and focused against the Lakers. Like last year, we faced them when they had Dirk back from his injury and were feeling really inspired and all, played great for most of the game … and then we had to burst their bubble with LO just having his way with a 70% healthy Dirk. We always seem to struggle against the Mavs, but thank goodness we etch out a win.

Well, I hope to see the Lakers more focused in the next game. We were out-rebounded, I don’t like that, especially when have LO, Pau and Drew … that shouldn’t be happening. Also, Vlad and Fish have to improve their shooting, they’re kinda in a slump … wakey wakey please.

And of course, DEFENSE. I don’t want to see a billion CP3 to Chandler pick in rolls/alley oops thanks. Nor do I want to see Peja bombing away at the 3-point line.

Once again, PAU was BETTER than BYNUM.

Recall, Kobe scored 62 on Mavs a few years back lol. Of course, they’ll be fired up.

no way! keep ariza with the bench mob…he is the spark off the bench much like turiaf was last year. the rotations and lineups are fine. we havent lost a game yet and your talking about messing with the lineups! if we hit a snag or start struggling then i would consider it but not when we havent lost a game yet. geeze

now looking back at it….the ariza trade might have been more one-sided than the pau trade…the magic’s gm is prolly slitts his wrists whenever he sees all these ariza highlights…WHAT THE HELL WERE THE MAGIC THINKING??!

  • Ejunkie21

can anyone beat the purple and gold army?

  • Ron

We need to get rid of radman…not that hes playing bad…but he and luke are taking up unnecessary space…Sasha is a better shooter than radman too…

we need to go after some vets…horry, mcdyess, need to strenghten the fort..horry will retire next year…might as well use him or buy him so that he wont be hitting clutch shots for anyone else…

we need to think about how we can get back to the finals…not playoffs.

  • T.A.

NO we dont need to do anything but keep getting better

    70 wins is possible

  • DCLAKER

I hope y’all realize we have 2 versions of “The Big 3″ on one team.

    Ya’know the 1st one…well,Farmar/Ariza/LO is the second.

  • mr.laker19

Ok, are you satisfied now, we got a close game. Now can we please go back to blowing people out cuz I was HIGHLY enjoying that.

  • Michael_23

I still like Jason’s Kidd’s game, a quiet triple double I don’t remember him grabbing even 5 rebounds in the game.

Tonight is a huge test for the Lakers! Can’t wait!

  • Jay

A slow start but we got it done. Thats all that matters.

Every team will bring their best game against us this season. That’s one of the reasons it’s so tough to play at the top, because everyone brings their A game and focuses well vs the best.

  • rockorego

TREVOR A. IS THE NEW ROBERT HORRY!!

  • S-Quire

I was raving about Trev in NY, I still can’t believe Lakers got someone I was pining for. Anyway, I think shooting big men are a problem for us the way speedy point guards have been in the past. They draw our our bigs too far leaving too much room in the middle for bums like Dampier to do damage. Although, the refs weren’t calling any of the million over-the-back calls which helped Damp.

DC Laker, I definitely agree with you on that 2 big 3′s! Now back to last night’s game. There were so many outstanding plays in the 4th, especially towards the end. I mean, everybody was hustling! Kobe’s offensive rebound dunk, Ariza’s saved rebound off of a Laker free throw that ended in him 2 handed jamming it on 3 Dallas guys, Ariza’s beautiful block on Stackhouse, Farmar’s steal off of Kidd, Lamar’s 3 in the corner off of Farmar’s assist, and Pau’s rebound and follow up dunk off plus the and 1 off of Fisher’s air ball. Which “one” can you say was the play that clinched it? I think you’d have to take them all. And you all know that I’ve left out Kobe’s 2 timely jumpers and his drive for a layup and a and 1 and also Ariza’s driving layup and a and 1 also. Basically the Laker’s entire 4th quarter was awesome.

I’m glad that they ran into some trouble with the Mav’s last night. Now we know that we can dominate a game from beginning to end with the 2 games against Portland and Clippers, stay close in the 4th and winning against the Nuggets, be down in the 4th and winning against the Clippers again, get blown out early and making a comeback within the same half and dominating the rest of the game against Huston, and finally being down late and making a run to keep it close and holding off for the win a la last night’s game.

This year’s Laker team has shown us how much they’ve matured over the off season and I think that they’re hungry enough to bring home the championship at season’s end.

Sketch…this for you,and the rest of Lakernaton..WE THE BEST!
