TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers @ Kings

    kingspost122

lakersHope is still alive, as the Lakers beat down the Kings, and pull within a half game behind the Cavaliers for the best record in the league.

After playing pretty much no interior defense in the 1st quarter, the Lakers found themselves in a 12 point hole, and it started to look like another disappointing loss. However, Shannon Brown provided the nice spark off the bench in the 2nd quarter that we’ve been looking for. He finished the night with 9 points in only 11 minutes.

This game was a lot about the bench tonight. The starters handled their business and they were able to rest the entire 4th quarter now that the bench came back alive tonight.

The Lakers bench outscore the Kings bench 42-22, we need that to continue if we’re going anywhere…

Player of the Game: Shannon Brown gets it tonight. They have been needing a lift off the bench and he brought it. He ended with 9 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals in only 11 minutes.

Play of the Game: It came late, but Sasha’s throw-down late in the 4th was nasty. It pretty much capped off the great 4th quarter he had. BANG! BANG!

What’s Up Next: Up next is a date with the Nuggets, who are currently riding a 7-game win streak and sit at 2nd in the west. It’s quite possibly a playoff preview. We’ll see it Thursday as part of TNT’s double-header.

    Go Lakers!

      SLAMMA JAMMA BING BONG!!!

    • Juan

I think Jordan just lost his job Shannon is stronger quicker and defends tentimes better. Farmar it’s time to join the DEFENDERS again.

    • K20

Thats what im talkin bout they need to start playin shannon brown more he is to Sikk, they should can farmar now!!!

    • LakersFirst

Shannon Brown is very athletic but sometimes he gets over anxious and plays too fast. He needs a little bit more contol.

    • BostonBlowsMyBalls

When the game started, I thought the Lakers were going to loose. I can’t figure out what’s worse. Watching an WNBA game or watching the bench play. I do know that it’s clear that FARMER SUCKS donkey d!ck!!! What the hell was he doing back in the 4th? Does Farmer have some dirt on PJ or something? Why didn’t PJ reward Brown for his play? Can we hire a hitman to take out some of the scrubs on our team?

Farmer is dumber than a doorknob. He is a shoot first PG. I’ve seen fist year rookies play better. This dude is suppose to be the QB on the second unit. He’s throwing interceptions, putting up bricks, and making ALL the wrong decisions. PJ needs to demote this sucka and give ALL his minutes to Brown. This game just proves that Brown is CLEARLY the better player. Farmer needs to be the 4th string QB. I have been lobbying for more minutes for Brown. Farmer is not the future and he’s a bum. I see a HUGE improvement when Farmer is out of the game.

Brown is like an energy bunny. He reminds me of Turiaf, except he doesn’t do the crazy dances on the sidelines. I have been saying all along that we just need to give this kid more minutes to see what he can do for us. In the past, PJ would only play him for 2-3 minutes. It’s hard to warm up and get a good rhythm with those kind of minutes. Brown was in the same draft class as Farmer and makes a lot less money (drafted at #25).

Vujabrick started off horrible, but picked up his game. Vujabrick had his first slam dunk in his career. I didn’t think he had any hops. The next move for Vujabrick is to get a haircut. Someone get some glue for Josh Bow-wow. He’s like another Kwame Brown.

Everyone needs to quite making excuses for these scrubs. I can except a few (2-3) bad games, but when you have been struggling since the All-Star break it means YOU SUCK!, PERIOD!!! The scrubs need to be packaged in a deal in exchange for one good All-Star player. If Cupcake can pull this off next season, he’ll be the executive of the year.

For now all we need to do is eliminate Farmer minutes and give them to Brown or tighten the rotation with 7-8 players. Also, we need to work on our defense. DOG (Dumba$$ Of the Game) would have to go to Farmer. This dude is our kryptonite.

Sasha was too funny with that last dunk lol

    • gugy

Good game on the second half. I thought we were going to lose this game on the first quarter. Good to see the team took care of business.
I am excite to play Denver. That will be interesting.
I predict Cavs losing one more.

We need to focus and get HCA. Go LAkers!

    • Lakerfanl

Shannon was great, and Sasha’s dunk was awesome!

    • David

Guys I was at the game today. Arco might as well be renamed Staples. I couldn’t believe how many Laker fans their were. We must have taken up at least 50% of the crowd.

    • DenMen

Credit has to go to Luke Walton. Seriously. One of his best games and credit goes to Shannon Brown because he is Potential. Take a look at Luke Walton’s line. 3-4FG +32 2OR 9 assist with 0 TO. Those last two stats? That’s some Chris Paul type of stats. So please, give this guy some recognition.

Best part about sasha’s dunk, was that the next possession, he tried a behind the back that was horrifying.

that dunk made me spit my food out my mouth!! incredible dunk!!

    • portman

you guys love sasha now. maybe luke could try that dunk next game. crazy world we live in. i wanna get a delorean, gun it to 88 and go back to ’06 where laker fans are alone in the world & even smush is loved. those were the days where true fans are tested. why i admire knicks fans? they endured marbury.

I completely agree. After the productive 1st half he put in I was hoping to see more of Shannon Brown in the 2nd half. Unfortunately Farmar again got more minutes. I am sick of Farmar. He is a turnover machine, his shooting is lousy, he is poor at running the offense and he makes bad decisions. We need to demote Farmar and start playing Brown more.

I completely with your comments on Farmar, Vujabrick, and Shannon Brown.

I’m not ready to give up on Josh Powell. I think he is pretty good off the bench. As for Luke, Jordan and Vujabrick? forget it! They are just too eratic to be productive. We need more consistent players.

    • farmabrick

      First “complete” game for Shannon.

He is definitely going to threaten Farmar for that second unit PG position next year. The Lakers tried to draft him back in 2006, but he got snagged by the Cavs.

He reminds me of a 4″ shorter Trevor circa Feb 2008: tons of athletic talent, certainly can play D, but needs to develop his outside shot and learn the Sacred Triangle.

Regardless, the Lakers need to draft/trade/develop D Fish’s replacement. Any suggestions from The Nation?

    • Diehardfan

It seem that some Laker fans finally see what I have been saying since I seen Shanon Brown in a Lakers uniform. He is about to take Farmar’s Job. I cannot forget that Farmar decided to go work out the very day that the Lakers drafter Crittenton. He played great ball when he felt someone might take his job. But, now that he does not see that he is so relaxed on defense. Shannon is perfect because he is quick enough to defend PG from opposing teams. Farmar better watch out because if Shannon Brown gets a jump shot it’s over.

i feel you portman…these “fans” ride the laker players only when they are playing well…but when they struggle…instead of supporting them…these so called “fans”…criticize them…

      btw…luke had a similar dunk this season…not that long ago…just a fyi…
