This was a pretty exciting game to watch, unfortunately, the ball just could not stay down and send the game into overtime.
Looking at the boxscore, you would think this game was played evenly matched, but that was not the case. The Lakers were clearly outplayed tonight. The Heat came with much more intensity on the defensive end, and it was only the late comeback sparked by our reserves that made the final score look like this game was closer than it could have and should have been.
The Lakers started the game playing out of sync and continued playing that way for much of the game. They turned the ball over what seemed like every time they touched the ball, and instead of playing defense they fouled. They also let a much smaller team get 11 offensive rebounds and almost out rebound them for the game.
In close games, only shooting 53% from the free throw line is a big recipe for disaster. It’s a big disappointment when little things like these can decide the outcome of a game.
Player of the Game: 28 points on 50% shooting, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and as good of job you can do D-ing up one of the best in the league in Wade. Kobe earns my player of the game.
What’s Coming Up Next: This roadtrip doesn’t get any easier as they head north to Orlando to face the Magic tomorrow night.
