TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers @ Celtics

celtspost110

toughHuge win for Los Angeles tonight! Without Bynum, without a great shot selection, without taking care of the ball — the Lakers prevailed.

In a gritty game down to the final buzzer with Fisher riding Allen, the Lakers edged out Boston 110-109 to complete a 2-0 series sweep of the defending champs.

The Lakers shot 47 percent but the game was won on the 16 turnovers they forced and not allowing any Celtic to take the game over. No Celtic had more than 22 points.

Each of the Lakers big three hit 20 or more points and the bench did their part to keep the Lakers in the game. It would be nice to see Kobe not force up so many terrible jumpers.

Now, the bests of the night…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Pau played a great game. 24 points and 14 boards.

2) Lamar didn’t do much at the beginning, but showed up at the end on his way to 20 points.

3) Fisher did the little things tonight. Shot 5-13 but had 3 big steals.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Sasha didn’t play well at all tonight. Hit one big three, but hurt us everywhere else.

Play of the Game: Gasol’s defense in the last Celtics’ sequence of Overtime.

What to Look for Next Game: Get ready! Lakers vs. Cavs Sunday on ABC!

Ticket Info: Next home game isn’t until the 10th, but prices are solid throughout the arena, and also let me know if you need All-Star game tickets. E-Mail me at Steve@AveryTickets.com or call213-221-7681 and mention TLN for tickets.

Go Lakers!

  • STEVE

i love it!!!!!!!!!! the lakers are on fire!!!! we miss you bynum, but dont worry, kobe and the boys will hold til you get back!!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://THELAKERNATI.COM BrownMamba101

If only Mamba had taken the ball to rim those 2-3 possesions in OT, the lakers would have won more decisevly considering kobe would have almost undoubtedly scored or gotten fouled for driving to the rim.

But the Lakers win!!!! 5-0 road trip so far.

Hey, Six, don’t hate on Avery. I personally like his reports.

    ODOM 20 POINTS AGAINST KG
    AND GAME WINNING FREE THROWS

  • http://www.keyshop.org Makaveli3

Gotta love that game. I was on my edge of my seat watching this. Great game in deed. GET READY FOR CAVS! Hopefully Bynum comes earlier so we can see more dominance!

  • purpleandgold323

Great win. Its funny, this morning I was reading celticsblog.com and they were talking about how bynum should play tonights game just so the almighty lakers would not have an excuse for losing. 2 words, ha ha. Hahaha another funny thing is that, Kobe did not even play his best ball game tonight, actually none of the lakers played their best game tonight; and this game was without bynum. Ya’ll feel me?

  • machine lover

whateverrrrr about the sasha comment! lol but yah absoutely stoked that we won.

  • six45ci

why do you like his reviews? do you also think every game in the nba is going to be an easy win? or could it be that he predicted we would blow certain teams out and end up losing. i actually appreciate a person who does their research before writting some sort of article. like knowing that the bobcats always give us fits for some reason, and how they own more wins in our times played againts them..come on now, you can kiss ass all you want, but you have to say the truth from time to time. his in “depth” analysis are trash. get some real NBA fans, not laker fans, to do these reviews.[Comment ID #60932 Will Be Quoted Here]

  • http://lakersground.net Lakers4Life

GREAT GAMES FOR BOTH GASOL AND ODOM!!!

  • lakers1fan

Well I know what trash man garnett will be saying tomorrow (just like the celtd!cks fans/redsarmy.com) “WoW they act like they won a championship” first of all trash man garnett, no the LAKERS didn’t win a championship but it’s a start that you should be scared of, secondly LAKERS snapped two winning streaks and it feels GOOD!!! and last but not least LAKERS WON the Season Series and that also feels GOOD!!!! So if I was trash man I would be worried about the cavs in the finals not the LAKERS…cause it might just be, LAKERS-VS- CAVS and you trash man garnett, drama queen pierce, and those ugly creatures looking Ray allen, raja rondo, and sam cassell will be fishing along with redsarmy.com and ALL THE LAKERS HATERS!!!!

  • havasu jorge

I loved how Odom did not back down in the 2nd half and how aggrssive Pau was. huge win.

  • kwame4mvp

don’t hate on the dude.. i agree… sasha needs to just calm the eff down. that fool reminds me of kwame. everytime he gets the ball.. i just say pass…

SMUSH WALTON, WHERE YOU AT YOU HATER!!

  • Eidraq

    great game!!

kb, fisher, pau, lo all had their impact on the game today…kb with his huge 3ptrs…pau with his end defense and drives…lamar with his aggression…fisher with his defense and great foul at the end!

    our team is sick!!

  • Razor Ramon

I loved that ass smack by LO!!!

  • KobeHaze24

Great win, congrats Lakers! That game was all about heart. Not the smoothest game ever, and didn’t play nowhere near what they are capable of, but they got the job done. The Lakers rolled up their sleeves and got dirty tonight. BSPN and all the haters, still think the Lakers are soft? I DON’T THINK SO. Odom proved tonight how valuable he is to the team. Don’t trade him. It’s a great night, rejoice Laker fans! I hate to dump on Avery, but man these post game reviews are getting shorter and shorter. Come on this was the biggest damn win of the year! That’s all you have to say?

  • purpleandgold323

LOL to razor ramon. yeah, i think Garnett might be saying yes to prop 8. or maybe he was just a little butt hurt because the Celtics didnt dominate like they thought they would? but anyway, i’ve read a few things regarding KG’s 6th foul and how it wasn’t a foul? and was the last play for allen a foul? someone needs to post a replay because the last replay they showed on TNT did not show any form of reach in on fisher’s part.

  • Big Phil

Exciting game, ugly win, finally Odom made two free throws in a row and showed up in the 2nd half (I guess he needs to hard slap some asses to get the blood flowing), defense is still shi-tty. Pierce is still a f__kin drama queen.

  • purpleandgold323

oh and btw, shouldnt paul pierce play for the Laker’s? (Not really)
but the guy is three kinds of hollywood. Give the guy an Oscar because he sure can act.

  • havasu jorge

Again, great game. I can’t tell you how happy I am about the heart that LO showed tonight. Regardless of how Sunday goes, this was a great road trip.

  • LAKERNATION

F uck that play of the game should be when ODOM slapped gayg’s ass then they got face to face and ODOM was like what b itch. Wow that was funny. He hella showed up gayg right there. Made him look like a punk.

  • mr.laker19

Odom was on my trade block before this game, key word before. He finally played how we need him to play from here on out, so he should not be traded. but any way YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BBBBBBBBBBBBAAAAAAAAAAAAABBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok Had to get that out. Biggest win in the last 5 years by far in the regular season. And we will win in Cleveland on Sunday too. Lets keep this show going baby. What show? LETS GO LAKESHOW!!!!

Seriously man that guy is a f ucking clown. He says so much stupid s hit, like if he were coaching this team well, I don’t really need to go in that because we all know that is guy is a tool.

  • iamthetie

The D was solid. We weren’t clicking on all cylinders offensively, and Sasha is still struggling, but they made it happen. Props to Odom and Gasol for not backing down.

I think STD has to go to Ariza. Besides a steal in the second quarter, he had a very pedestrian game by his standards.

  • I dont wear green

i can’t stand looking at rondo, ray,pp,or kg’s ugly mugs, i’m so freakin’ glad we beat that a$$… i just hope we get this team in the finals, bynum back and healthy, should be sweet.

I knew my boys would step up for the challenge. Specially Lamar.

    Congrats Laker family.

  • sketch

HELL YEAH BABY!!!!!! FCUK THE CELDICKS!!!!! I loved it! Our boys just became men tonight fellas! They sacked the fcuk up and manned up against those hooligans from bean town! Every chance they got, they tried to punk our boys, but damn it aren’t we proud of the gang tonight? Kobe, Pau, LO, and everyone would not be allowed to be pushed around! They stood their ground and punked them right back! And just seeing how everyone picked each other up and getting into those green goblins faces, it was AWESOME!!!

And NO! Us LO haters are not going to STFU! You should STFU! Don’t you understand you fcukin moron, that it’s the fans hating on him and the organization contemplating a trade that prompted LO to finally step up! He played great tonight! We all know that it’s within his potential to do that, but it’s the consistency that’s the problem! He’s shown us this last year in the finals too, but just not enough! If it takes us fans hating on homie da clown and the organization threatening to trade him to get him to play this well every time, then we’ll do this every day until we win the championship!

GREAT WIN TONIGHT LAKERS!!!!! ONE MORE TO GO!!!! WE’VE STOPPED BOSTON’S WIN STREAKS TWICE, NOW IT’S TIME TO END THE CAV’S WIN STREAK AT THEIR HOME!!! 6-0 ON THIS ROAD TRIP, LET’S GO LAKERS!!!

Great win – it wasn’t pretty – but as Stu would say it’s still a W. If everyone plays 48 minutes, eliminate the bad plays, and make our free throws we blow the Sucdics out.

Nice to see Lamar can play. His 1st half was pretty bad but thankfully he woke up in the 2nd half. Hopefully he can do it with some consistency from now on out. Lucky we didn’t get the aggressor refs or his butt slapping folly gets him tossed.

Definitely a lot of room for improvement. Ariza was less than his usual spectacular self, Luke? oh God if only we could fill that hole in the lineup, Sasha was horrible, thankfully Vlad didn’t get off the bench.

  • Smush Walton

[Comment ID #60975 Will Be Quoted Here]

How right you are. One great half doesn’t erase 4 years of subpar play. Unfortunately, this win doesn’t settle the score for last year’s finals debacle. I don’t think I have to remind everyone who was identified as the “key” for us to win before each game and who unfortunately showed up only for one quarter the whole series.

  • Smush Walton

Replay clearly shows that Ray Allen was COMPLETELY UNTOUCHED on the last shot – sorry Sucdic fans.

  • LakersNo1

If we meet celtdicks in the playoffs, KG will be afraid to bend his azz against LO.

…How bout the Slap_Ass Kobe gave the Drama Queen, at the end of regulation, soon after he knocked the ball out of the Queen’s hands!
…Just as LO was sending his message to KG, that was Kobe’s message to The Drama Queen; “The Mamba King, The Truth & Nothing Butt!” …LOL

  • portman

did you guys see the sign on the stands that said “KOBE MVP? NOT IN THIS GARDEN!”

just wanna smack a video of them chanting MVP to kobe 2 years ago right on their faces. booyah.

  • hooterhunter

hahaha someone posted a youtube video of rajon rondo and kobe altercation and he titled it mamba strikes back at the Green Goblin rajon rondo LOL Green Goblin.. he looks just like him hahhaa

  • Jesse

Ok, I am one of the biggest LA Laker fans possible living in Minnesota but from what I have seen from Odom I am still not convinced he is the perfect person for the position he is playing. I have been a L.A. Laker fan from 1995 and since they have got Lamar he has shown nothing. I am totally sorry to all you Odom fans but he has been inconstant from week to week. Tonight he was extremely helpful toward the end to the game but after gave was over everyone forgets that we won the tip ad he took ti to the hoop, got fouled, missed the first two three throws, then on the next possession turned the ball over on a careless pass. I am not saying go and trade him now but this has been Lamar Odom’s trademark, he seems to play when he wants too and that seems to hurt us. If you look at many of the interviews on lakers.com which i watch after every game available it seems that he isn’t even listening to the interviewers questions before he is answering and half the time he isn’t even looking at the media. I know this isn’t gonna make one bit of difference but I think its something to look at, everyone else seems to give it their all but sometimes Lamar just seems to not care all all. Tonight was a big night for the Lakers to I don’t want to seem like I am spoiling it but I believe that we need to get lamar more involved and get his Offensive/Defensive knowledge up. Its just not 2 games we will play we will play 5 to 7 games and I think Lamar will be the deciding factor and I am not totally sure he has the ambition to put the work in yet!

  • Jesse

haha sorry after proof reading it I see I was drunk when I wrote it so I am totally sorry but I still mean everything I wrote, lamar is very inconsistent and I am glad I he comes off the bench but while drew is injured he needs to step up and put up starter numbers, at least rebounds. He is drawing career lows right now but I believe he thrives on connivence so hopefully this game does it for him. If not I feel sorry for him. LETS GO LAMAR, Play like you want a contract with L.A. next year!!!!!!

  • FREDDYB

GREAT WIN…GOOD TO SEE LAMAR AND PAU STEP UP,HOWEVER I DON’T LIKE THE WAY PHIL HAS OUR DEFENSE SET UP.HE PUT WALTON ON PIERCE, WHICH WAS SHOWN IN THE FINALS, NEIHER WALTON NOR RADMAN CAN HOLD HIM.HE PUT FISHER ON RAY ALLEN WHICH GIVES RAY GREAT LOOKS AT THE BASKET.HE PUT KOBE ON RONDO AND ALLOW KOBE TO ROAM, WHICH IN MOST CASES ALLOW KOBE’S MAN TO GET OPEN SHOTS.
AT THE END OF THE GAME HE PUT KOBE ON PIERCE AND PIERCE WAS ON LOCK DOWN.
PUT FISHER ON RONDO,LET’S CUT DOWN ON HIS OPEN SHOTS…FISHER IS A GREAT DEFENDER BUT RAY IS TOO BIG,BUT HE CAN BULLY RONDO.
AND HOW ABOUT ARIZA ON RAY ALLEN…LONGER, QUICKER, STRONGER AND A GREAT DEFENDER.

  • L.odom

Quit the bullcrap and just give the man some props for CHRIST SAKE!

  • PGMVP

Gotta love this win statement win
One thing we saw from the Lakers in this game was we grew up a lot from last year.
Kobe said “we didn`t play our best basketball, not even close” and we still won and plus bynum was out that is BIG WIN
    GO LAKERS,beat cavs

  • Real Laker Fan aka Reason

I agree with the comments about the recaps being short. The recaps compared to last year are pretty lame to be honest. Some one above said this is the biggest win of the year and it is. I mean c’mon, this win was better then the Christmas day game given we didn’t have Bynum and we were in Boston! AVERY STEP YOUR GAME UP!

  • Day

I think that one of Kobe’s three 3 pointers in the 4th should be in the top plays ^^

Also, if we just hit our FT’s the game wouldn’t have even been close.

  • Smush Walton

[Comment ID #61005 Will Be Quoted Here]

    Well stated.

In the 1st half Lamar was 1 of 3 for 2 points and 3 fouls. All of the TNT comentators (Kenny Smith, Karl Malone, Reggie Miller) were pointing out his subpar performance.

Also during the broadcast it was pointed out that Lamar is shooting 36% from the field and 61% from the line. Are these acceptable stats for someone in a CONTRACT YEAR? Considering the fact that (thankfully) most of his shots are clearly not from the outside but instead are drives to the hoop, I think 36% is atrocious. And 61% from the line is barely better than 1 for 2 is also appalling.

So yes, by all means congrats for a great last half of the 3rd and 4th quarter. Now that you’ve demonstrated productive play is possible, let’s strive to make it the consistent NORM rather than the occasional exception.

  • Smush Walton

[Comment ID #61014 Will Be Quoted Here]

I don’ t know what we ended up at the of regulation but we missed at least 12 FTs at the end of regulation – and that will NOT get it done!

  • celtic killa

what’s in store for the finals? call this a sneak peak
the c’s came weak, so we ended another streak
we stay flossin, did it at home, now we did it in boston
Odom with the clutch free throws…nail in the coffin
kg got in his face, so Lamar had to blast back
made the big ticket look little, as he got the last laugh
lie about another injury, that’s what “the truth” ought to do
bring out a wheelchair, maybe he would’ve made a shot or two
this was for Bynum, cuz even without him we gave a hard fight
kg calls him superman, but for pierce it was a dark (k)night
with a man down, Gasol had to man up, now let’s be honest
in june we going to the promised land, and that’s a promise
despite a bad shooting night, Kobe played hard from the start
hit clutch 3′s when they mattered, put the dagger to their heart
rondo thought he was hard, so Kobe had to put him in his place
told him next time it won’t just be a finger, but a fist to the face
big baby probably cried again, he couldn’t handle the emotions
made one of eight shots, there’s a reason you were left open
third game in four nights, yet it was the c’s that looked tired
it went down to the wire, but we won it with heart and desire
so at the end of the day, a “no call” was the “fair call”
mr. “all-star by default” came through with an air ball
just good hard defense from Fish and Pau, fcuk a foul
I got a question for kg…”whatcha gonna say now?”

  • Smush Walton

Yes Walton on Pierce was a disaster waiting to happen. We are eztremely fortunate to survive that.

It was mentioned during the game when Luke was on Rondo that with Sasha’s poor play, putting Luke on Rondo was a tough matchup for us because of Luke’s slow foot speed. Thankfully, Phil had the sense to realize that as bad on D that Luke is, Vlad would have been even worse so he got no court time at all.

Ariza’s play was very disappointing tonight and Sasha has been terrible. If anyone was a machine out there it was House. When Sasha puts up those kind of numbers he can be called the “Machine” until then he should be called the “Pretender”.

  • MR JUAN_YOUR WARLOCK

If Old Man Jackson makes it a habit of playing Luke over Ariza, especially in The Finals, ala last year, I don’t care what any of The Luke Lover’s think, y’all can forget bout winin Le “Ship” !!!!!

  • Smush Walton

[Comment ID #61023 Will Be Quoted Here]

Without question, Luke has to go! It is simply unbelievable that he is even in the league. There is no way that we can suffer with him for 4 (or 5) years more. He is so slow footed out there and for all of his “knowledge of the triangle offense” he had some absolutely horrible turnovers tonight. He is a walking disaster area.

Somehow we must unload Luke and Vlad even if we just buy them out. Those are two completely wasted roster spots. Lamar is a serviceable backup, but I don’t see him as a consistent starter either. Unfortunately, most teams do not give up an all star for garbage (the Pau trade was a once in a lifetime anomaly). Either we get a free agent or we consider who is of value that is not essential to the team that would bring us someone of value in return.

  • Smush Walton

As much as I can’t stand Paul The Drama Queen Pierce, I think his D really bothered Kobe tonight. He really crowded Kobe and forced him into taking some really bad shots. As was pointed out many times during the game, he really had a hand in Kobe’s face. We need to play that sort of in your face style of D! I get so sick of seeing opponents consistently getting wide open shots. Also our players need to learn the fundamentals of screening out on the rebounds. We have been doing an extremely poor job of this, particularly Lamar. Screening out is a lost art and it is inexcusable to just stand there tipping at rebounds with one hand while the offensive player darts around you for an easy put back. In general we are very weak in this fundamental skill.

  • dawg

lol true avery sucks bring back rafner!

Kobe didn’t play his best, but that was just because the defense on him was formidable.

Anyway without his gutsy 3 pointers in the last quarter we lose. Give him props.

  • rawnnn

5-0 on the road while alotta experts thought we’d drop all the games after bynum got injurred..

  • Dave

Lets hope that Boston reacts the same way to their “no big deal loss, the Lakers care too much” and proceed to lose the next 7 of 9 games. The Lakers are the STREAK KILLERS!

Let this glorious victory be a reminder to everyone; Boston is tough only until you stand up to them… then they do nothing and walk away like a wilted Garnett.

  • Michael_23

I know it’s early to post a LAKERS-CAVS preview. But ESPN analysts are talking about Kobe|Lebron and how lebron is a better defender.

What the heck? These guys didn’t watch the Olympics? Ca mon now …

    Better perimeter shooting – Kobe
Best clutch and closer – Kobe
Better defender – Kobe –> in fact Kobe was in 1st team all-defensive team last season. 2nd voting to Kevin Garnett! –> http://www.nba.com/news/defensive_team_080512.html

KG is the biggest A-hole in the league.
Gay Allen is the biggest flopper in the league.
Pudgy Pierce is the biggest cry baby in the league.
and Rondo was way out of his league!

Fcuk the Celdicks, the Lakers punked them in their own crib. Le Hype is next to go down in Cleveland and we’re gonna take it all this year!

hahahaha have you guys heard? no i’m not gonna say buh buh buh bird bird bird, the bird is the word. So for that debate of which performance was better, kobes 61 or lbjs triple double at msg, it turns out the league took his triple double away because his ninth rebound shoulda been credited to Ben Wallace who had a control tip to Lebron. LOL! still cracks me up at how bad lebron wanted that last rebound going as far as to jockeying for position over his own teammates, lunging for it and ending up out of bounds.. all for nothing hahah BLACK MAMBA STRIKES AGAIN http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYKMZUNHTAI

  • stdecker

i’m supper happy with the win, ecspecially since we didn’t play that well. Sasha is absoultley horrible! i also wish Kobe wouldnt make it so easy the defense. i’m not opposed to him actually taking most of the shots down the stretch, i’m just not into isolating him at the top of the key with no ball movement and having him pull up for contested jumpers at the elbow. either he’s become to predictable against these guys, or they have him doing what they they want him to do. I think we would be better off making their defense work harder. either way im glad we won, and i am sure Kobe’s due for a good shooting night againts they guys soon or later! GO LAKERS, FUUCK SASHA

on celtic fans saying that ray was fouled by fish??!! wtf

it’s basketball.. and it’s a contact sport!! if you dont wanna get hit then play chess! it’s a good non call in the last play.. players win ballgames not the officials winning it for you! and you call yourself champs?! Lakers took this one.. end of story..

Lets go Lakers! beat those cavs! and snap that 23 game home winning blah blah blah!!

  • daryl Imhoff

Have you noticed that every time the Lakers play like the Celtics the Celtics complain that they have been fouled. The Celtics also complain on almost every call. I like Doc Rivers but he is the worst about complaining on calls that go against his team. To his credit Phil Jackson rarely complains and when he does it is more effective. River couldn’t even take the high road after the game. He complained about the officiating. The Lakers beat them at their own game.

ARE YOU RETARDED? Lamar is shooting .484 percent from the field this year. That’s third best on the team behind Bynum and Pau. And the reason why Lamar was unproductive in the first half was due to foul trouble. The refs were calling ticky tacks the whole game. With 3 fouls left for the second half, Odom was able to play aggressive. Once again, SMUSH WALTON, you prove to be a fan with no knowledge of the game whatsoever.

  • bryan

Odom is shooting above 48 percent from the field this season, Smush Walton. Get your head out of your asss and start paying attention. You call yourself a fan? You don’t even have your facts straight. And yes Lamar is shooting a career low 61 percent from the line but that shoud just magnify how big it was for him to step up and hit two huge ones that won us the game. And the only reason why he had a subpar first half was because of foul trouble. Give the guy some props. He stepped up big. You are ridiculous in your opinions.

Great win for lakers!!! Now…I am just very upset with Skip Bayless(spurs lover), Tim Leglar (Celtics lover), who aren’t giving any credit to lakers. Today on 1st and 10 Skip said, that Spurs can take down the lakers, Hornets can take down the lakers, and if Denver is given a chance, Chauncey and his nuggets can take down the lakers WTF???? And as far as Tim Leglar well he is a juz celtic kiss ass…uggghhhhhhhhh

  • Odom the worst player

    L. Odom you’re just down right stupid. Just because Odom has one good game doesn’t make him the superstar you think he is. This guy is an under achiever pure and simple. I knew if he had one good game all of these idiots who are Odom lover would start bragging. At least wait until the guy has 5 good games. Well I know why because I think these Odom lovers know it wouln’t happen before this under achiever retires.

  • Odom the worst player

Let’s see if odom shows up Sunday

  • Lakergirl

Well A-hole you better tell TNT because that was what was shown on the graphic on last night’s game, along with 61% from the line.

Oh poor pathetic “bryan” I see you are still your same dumbass self. As soon as I see your name I know worthless crap follows. Instead of giving Lamar BJs buddy you ought to open your eyes, but alas you are a lost cause. I didn’t see any of your BS babble after your boys brain fart against Charlotte, but you probably had one too. You are probably right up there with Lamar in the IQ department anyway so what’s the use in wasting key strokes on a pencil neck like you.

Go back and watch the tape of the game RETARD. From the opening tip your boy was screwing up. I lost count of the number of “What the Hell are You Doing” moments. Even Phil’s comments after the 1st quarter along with the halftime discussion called out Lamar’s first half performance. But I suppose Phil, Karl, and Reggie are all “retards” too you twit.

One good game? More like a good quarter and a half + OT!
He opened the game 0 for 2 from the line – before any Laker fouls were even called so you can’t blame the “ticky-tac refs”. He had at least two more 1 for 2′s.

If only the “Versatile One” was half the player that Pau is he might be a star – a lot of good that dumb star did carved in the back of his noggin when he still had dreams of being an all star. As it is he’s too damn eratic. What happened in the last year’s finals? Game 1 & 2 he was a ZERO. Game 3 he had a great 1st quarter but after that – the lights were on, the door was open but nobody was home. So much for all of that talent and versatility!

word, man. been here too long and all these guys are just screaming TRADE LAMAR.

  • L.odom

Smush Walton, are you even a Laker’s fan? And yes you are retarded for stating that Lamar’s shooting percentage is 36 percent. The tnt announcers were saying that he was shooting that percentage for the game before he turned it up in the second half. It is obvious you love watching Lamar fail because even when he has a great game, you have nothing to say. I have never seen you say ONE positive thing about Lamar. Just last week the guy had 13 pts, 6 boards, 2 blocks, and only 1 turnover and you were still spouting your trash and you say the same crap over and over. You aren’t a true fan. As much as you think you are, you aren’t. You hate half the freakin team! Don’t call yourself a fan. You are the reason why some people think us LA fans are spoiled stubborn brats. A-holes like you don’t know how fuccin good we have it. You are a dum shyt and deserved to be slapped.

    yawn!

[Comment ID #61171 Will Be Quoted Here]

Thankfully everyone is not a “true fan” like you otherwise we’d still be suffering with Smush Parker, Kwame, Samaki Walker, Cookie, Coby Karl. As it is we are hopelessly saddled with Luke (hopelessly slow in motion and thought), Vlad (total space cadet), Mihm (it is really unfortunate about his injuries as he was becoming a decent player), Sasha (he tries hard but “The Machine?” – hardly), and the ultimate underachiever, the versatile one-armed wonder himself. If your boy was maybe a 2nd or 3rd year player that would be one thing as there would be hope for improvement, but this is his TENTH year! Consistency? That’s just never happens. For every good play there’s a bad one; for every great play there’s a “What the Hell are You Doing?” one.

If you people knew anything about basketball you would see the GLARINGLY OBVIOUS deficiencies in basic fundamentals he demonstrates time and time again.

If you want to mindlessly worship anyone wearing a Laker uniform that’s YOUR problem. As for the rest of us who have seen Laker excellence since the 70′s, and know how to recognize and appreciate smart fundamental play on the court, we have higher standards and expectations and don’t just fall in line with you simpleminded little sheep. Respect isn’t just handed out; it must be earned.

  • L.odom

Lol you’re a kid. Don’t act like you’ve been watching since the 70s and don’t go and google your Laker info now. Unlike you, I can be honest. I’m 21 and have been watching Laker Basketball since 96. Yes, the year Kobe got drafted. My favorite players use to be Vlade Divac and Nick Van Exel. My sister was in love with Cedric Ceballos. Elden Campbell had small hands like Kwame and Eddie Jones loved that corner J. I am a true fan. I don’t bash on our players timelessly and especially when they have the best record in the league, there is no cause for it. You are an idiot fan that claimed Lamar Odom shot an obscure shooting percentage and didn’t even attempt to give a rebuttle to your mistake. You do not know anything about basketball fundamentals because if you did, you’d know how much Lamar brought to the table. Things that don’t show up on the stat sheet like defensive help, hockey assists, court spacing, getting the ball to the right person at the right time. You just look at his turnovers and ignore everything else. Like a lot of people on this forum, I do play basketball and I know the game. I love the game. You, who are obviously a little ignorant kid should shut your pie-hole.

  • L.odom

and Bryan called you out about last season and all you had to say was “yawn.” Where were you last season when Odom played terrifically? No where to be found. But once Odom flopped in the Finals, you were the first one here talking trash. I am here regardless, whether he has a good game or a bad game. Just like the Lakers, whether they win or lose. Whether they have players like Smush and Kwame. It doesn’t matter. I’m a die-hard fan and will root for them through thick and thin unlike you BANDWAGONER.
