9. Trevor Ariza
In the 2007-2008 season Trevor Ariza was traded from the Orlando Magic to the Lakers in exchange for Brian Cook and Maurice Evans. Ariza spent the majority of his time at the end of the bench in Orlando so Laker fans questioned whether or not this move would add some sure value to the Lakers roster. As unexpected as it was by many, Trevor Ariza would play a key role in the Lakers 2009 championship run. After earning a starting spot in the middle of the 2008-2009 season, his defensive instincts, athleticism, and outside shooting would shine and fill a void on the perimeter that the Lakers needed.
