Well how nice of him to admit this. This REALLY irritates me. Why? Find me another example of this when the Lakers were at the losing end of a call… or what about Kobe’s suspensions for “unnatural basketball acts?” It really seems were under a microscope:

IbaBuzzWarriors: So, I was informed by the league office that the NBA DOES NOT voluntarily release its opinion or analysis about controversial judgment calls. The offensive foul ref Bob Delaney called on Monta Ellis is considered a judgment call. The NBA only volunteers its analysis for specific rules violations or in serious circumstances.

The league does, however, share its findings on controversial calls when a member of the media asks. So I asked. And Stu Jackson answered. “We did review,” he said Tuesday. “The call was incorrect.” “After looking at the play, the foul was on (Derek) Fisher and not (Monta) Ellis. It appeared that Fisher pulled Ellis down.” There you have it.

  • magicbalala245

So da league took our win away cause when that foul happen we was up by 2 go check da video it can’t be there victory atleast 2 free throws if the “foul” was even on Fisher

  • kevin

why does the front office hate the lakers!

  • DCLAKER

THESE F!@$ERS ARE DOING EVERYTHING IN THERE POWER (STERN) TO MAKE SURE THE LAKERS DON’T GO TO THE FINALS. THE NBA IS BECOMING TO “SOFT” TO FOR ME. DF DID NOT PULL THE MONTA DOWN,IF YOU LOOK CAREFULLY DF TRIPPED OVER BARON DAVIS FOOT SO IF YOU ASK ME,GAME OVER! REFEREES YET AGAIN DETERMINE THE OUTCOME OF AN IMPORTANT GAME. I LOVE MY LAKERS(AND MY WIZARDS TOO)BUT THIS JUST MAKES YOU WANNA GIVE UP ON SPORTS. WAY TO GO STERN!!!

  • nyla

How about admitting the bad calls in the 2006 Finals!!

  • BringDFishBack

What gets to me about this play is that Harrington is obviously fouling both Kobe and one other player (I think vlad). Ellis is supposed to be coming around him on a screen but Harrington has his arms extended out and is holding Kobe and the other guy. So if it was a foul on Fish it should have been a foul on Harrington anyway, so just shutup it ended the way it should have.

  • LakersFan9

This is horsesh*t. There is no other trace of this anywhere else on the internet. The league NEVER questions the referees (one of the big reasons the crooked referees get away with so much…Tim Donaghy, for example). Warriors fans are just still bitter, they can’t move on with their lives.

  • EastCoastJessie

Take this comment for what it’s worth…it comes from a Warriors reporter and I highly doubt Stu Jackson would make such a comment to a lowly reporter. They are not taking away the Lakers win and this means absolutely nothing.

  • raphaelr

There is no way they could make it a Golden State victory, so what if the foul was on fisher, that means ellis would go to the line for one, probably make it, and Golden State would have the ball down one. Which means it is not an automatic victory, so my guess is that they MAY do what they did with Miami and Atlanta, and resume the game from the foul taking place, send Ellis to the line, and resume the game from there.

But then again, that may not happen and no where in the quoted article does it say an automatic GS victory.

  • raphaelr

Also, who said free-throws are automatic ;)

  • http://letsgolakers.com Mr.81

Wow you scared me I thought that “(GS Victory)” meant they changed the winner…

  • raphaelr

No, that was what LD2K implied, unless he is seeing something I am not seeing, they can’t automatically change the victory. The worst case scenario is that they replay the final 4 seconds.

  • The Truth

WOW! Have you guys read the replys to that guys’ post…ridiculous!

Check it out, I couldn’t help to say something myself too after reading their responses…

who knows if stern gambled on games or not??!!

  • lalakerfan

    fu ck stu jackson

  • e

who the f*ck cares…we won and thats that…there are a lot of games where officials miss calls at the last second…so whatever..as long as they dont plan to replay this game then we’re okay =)

  • raphaelr

Are you guys not getting it? GS hasn’t won this game!

  • lafanfromindiana

I’m not sure why all of you are so mad at Stu. He gave his honest opinion which is the correct opinion. Any of you think that wasn’t a foul on Fisher is foolish. Look at the play again, they could have easily called a foul on Kobe for holding. Stu and the league can’t take the game away because free throws were not made and they can’t have the game replayed for the final 4 seconds either. If so, that would mean that we would be replaying games over and over. Think about, if the game was replayed because of a bad call in the final 4 seconds….what would stop a another game being replayed for a bad call somewhere in the 1st, 2nd , or 3rd quarter?

The NBA isn’t out to get the LAkers. If so, they wouldn’t have approved the Gasol trade and would have made up something about the Jerry West connection. All of you crying about the league and officials out to get us…….sounds alot like Kobe crying for a foul everytime he shoots whether he makes it or misses it.

By the way. I am a Lakers fan and Kobe is my favorite athlete of all time in all of sports.

  • LakersOnFire

    i think this means its a do-over. DO-OVER!

  • 24allup inya

i think this is a bunch of bullsh!t David Stern and all the NBA officials can suck a dick!

  • http://www.hard-wood.org/?cat=34 Billy Kupchak

i love how something so meaningless can mean so much when fans take it up da @$$ :-D

  • Sako

it’s happened before, vs. the rockets a couple years ago, in the end, shaq was called for a flagrant foul even though it wasn’t, then phil jackson was called for a technical foul, & we ended up losing, later they said that it wasn’t a flagrant

    http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2003/0121/1496366.html

“The unfortunate thing is it had to be decided by them,” O’Neal said after the game, referring to the the officials. “A whole bunch of people who paid a lot of money had to see a game that was decided by someone who doesn’t make a lot of money. That’s unfortunate.”

  • vida8

ridiculous … then they should clean there eyes before they made there decision …. and lets be honest ..they both were grabbin each other its not like fish grabed him and monta didn’t ..they both were tangled up..source :i was at the game…
    NBA where bias happens

  • west213

stu go suck bynums d ick

  • Mr. Juan / Your Warlock

It is absolutely incredible and (disappointing to Lakers Fans) for a Lakers fan?/color commentator to comment negatively, on a judgment call, that basically and clearly shows, could go either way, based on who is really and actually pushing down or pulling down one or the other….Freaking, unbelievable to hear something like this, from a so-called Lakers perspective point of view….You would never hear anything close to this from The Celtics commentators or Warriors commentators or Clippers commentators or Suns commentators or any other home commentators in this league…Judgment calls can almost always go either way!…This is a classic case of someone overzealously, going overboard, and making every extra effort to look like the holier than thou-unbiased reporter that everyone wants to hear…I’m sure many Lakers Fans have lost much respect for Stu Jackson, based on these for-self-elevating comments….I only have ONE WORD for Stu on this matter, and I believe I share this point of view with real & TRUE LAKER supporters….BOOOOOOOOOOOO-STUUUUUUUUUUU!

DON’T BE A STUPID IDIOT. IT’S NOT STU LANTZ. IT’S STU JACKSON. EVEN IF IT WAS WE ALL KNOW THE LAKERS CAUGHT A BREAK ON THE PLAY. OPEN YOU EYES. STU LANTZ WOULD ADMIT THE LAKERS GOT A BREAK TOO.

  • drake hunter

Why does Stu Lant’s opinion even matter. He’s so got damn negative about the Lakers when he’s commentating the game anyways. I wanted to strangle him listening to him during both games against the Warriors.

  • ab4sure

Thank God for Stu Lantz. He brings objectivity like no other commentator in the league. If anyone wants a true homer you can always become celtic fans and praise Tommy homer Heinsohn.

  • ab4sure

[Comment ID #30908 Will Be Quoted Here]

The article is about Stu Jackson not Stu lantz.

  • Mr. Juan / Your Warlock

My bad….I mistakenly thought of Stu Lantz when reading this article, hence, I apologize to Stu Lantz, and so my bad regarding that…..What is STUPID! and IDIOTIC!, is stating that WE all know the Lakers caught a break on an out of bounds judgment call….WE?…To insinuate WE Laker Fans and all Laker supporters agree, is BIG TIME IGNORANCE DUDE!

  • PGMVP

Wait let´s go back the night before the game it was in LA Lakers down by one Ellis shoved fisher or luke and the everybody saw it and they did not call a foul then here we go lakers up one Ellis fouls Fisher and the league goes nuts wow.

  • Mr. Juan / Your Warlock

Stu Jackson is full of MALARKY to belittle one of his own refs on a judgment call that can go either way 50 out of 100 times…If Stu Jackson was a true professional, he would have kept his mouth shut and defended his own man’s call….The replay definitely does not prove nor disprove Bob Delaney’s call….Jackson deserves no respect as an NBA official.

  • Smush Walton

    Screw Stu Jackass!

He should start weeding out some of his pathetic efs. There are so many BS calls lately that it is becoming a bad joke. If players can be suspended after too many T’s, then lousy refs can be suspended after too many BLOWN calls.

  • ab4sure

Open your eyes. At least admit we got a lucky break. Well, perhaps objectivity is very hard for you because you live as a Warlock. And don’t assume everyone agrees with your boo stuu… lol

  • Mr. Juan / Your Warlock

ab4sure, I do not need to see you, to know you are a very young little boy or little girl,….Your naive and disrespectful comments, and reactions to comments, speaks volumes about you….Get educated and learn how to debate correctly, then MAYBE, just maybe, you might be worthy.

  • ab4sure

[Comment ID #31014 Will Be Quoted Here]

You need to reread your own posts. Its okay to be a homer for the lakers and I can understand that but when something is plain as day as that foul by fish be a man about it, or perhaps you might be alittle boy still… at least in mind. BTW learn how they discipline refs. They do voice criticism of the refs sometimes publicly but if you read about it you would know that is usually in response to a reporters question. No harm from it, it will make them better refs. Perhaps you didn’t like it becuase the call was for the lakers, i understand that since your not thinking objectively. Get educated on those situations, and just maybe you might be worthy… LOL

  • Mr. Juan / Your Warlock

Hahahahahahahahahaahahaaaaaaaaaaa!….Gotta give ya some credit….That was very funny….Emulating (mocking) can sometimes, be very flattering….Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!….Well, Gotta Go!… See Ya!… No Wanna Be Ya!

  • ab4sure

Mock yes, emulate??? don’t flatter yourself. Another great comeback… too easy… are u sure your a laker fan??? i mean to get wrong Stu Lantz is quite incredible. Also, Stu Lantz is such a class individual for you to rip the guy was abit premature even if you made a mistake…. no wanna be ya??? how old are u??? your in a time warp get out…

  • Mr. Juan / Your Warlock

Truth hurts eh my man, uh, I mean little boy… Find and use your own cliches and/or comebacks, if not you will always be considered a cop-out copy-cat and never a true leader… You tend to harper on the same thing over and over and over again… Get over it!… Heeheeeheeheeheeheeheehee …

  • ab4sure

I wasn’t copying your cliche, i was mocking you for using it. I would never copy you.

  • Mr. Juan / Your Warlock

Stop Crying, kid… Now you sound like a Copy-cat-Cry-baby.

  • Mr. Juan / Your Warlock

Haaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahhhhhahha…. Like I said before, you’re a really funny Cop-Out,-Copy-Cat,-Cry-Baby… See Ya… No Wanna Be Ya!

Stu Lantz is one of the best color commentator’s there is in the league. The negativity you say Stu Lantz has is actually Objectivity. Something you sorely Lack.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Stop! STOP! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH…. You’re too funny… HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH…

  • http://yahoo.com dwillisill

damn i hope laker fans put their foot in their mouth about the league not wantin them in the finals. that game 5 last night vs. the jazz was some bull shit and i’d be hella content if ya’ll knew it. granted the jazz had their opps to grab the lead and failed, but those refs were terribly leanin for that win for ya’ll. too many laker fans in this country for stern and co. to not want them to win the finals
