Very quiet these days… Mark Stein of ESPN is saying there is no Garnett chatter – other than our crazy Lakers fans yelling our website at Mitch and Lakers management – but does claim one “rival executive” believes KG will indeed be traded before the season starts:

ESPN: Sorry to disappoint, but there has been very little Kevin Garnett chatter circulating in Vegas. Almost none, really. The most definitive declaration we can pass along is the view of one rival executive who says he knows “for a fact” that Minnesota remains intent on making a KG trade before the season starts.

Eighty days and counting…

• http://www.myspace.com/ericthaimyshoe Eric Thai

80 days. Golden State has all the time in the world to put together a package around Branden Wright for KG if we don’t do anything.

• red3mpt

KG doesn’t want to go up north. its not that warm and sunny up there compared to LA.

• http://www.getgarnett.com Fred A.

The untouchables are:
Bryant-Simply the Best in the NBA
Odom-Knows the Triangle and 2nd best on team
Vujivic-plays great defense and a good offensive play
Mihm-the only decsent center on the team
Crittenton-he show great potintial
K.Brown-he is strong he makes players pay
Parker-just give him another chance and work on his defense
Fisher-he a vet with natural skills from experience
Walton-knows the triangle and he needs to pass the ball to the right guy
Evans-you see the positives
The ones you should trade:
Farmer-he is a joke
Bynum-to slow to be great, maybe in the future
Radmon-something good to use to get someone better
Mckie-wast of bench but good point guard
S. Williams-something good to use to get someone better
Cook-something good to use to get someone better
Good trades (Bynum/Farmer/Radmon) for (JO/Murphy),
then (Murphy/Cook/S.Williams) for (Artest/a first rouder), and then (That First Roumder/Mckie) for (S.Blake/MO. Williams). So it would look like this:
Fisher
Bryant
Odom
JO
Mihm

• http://www.getgarnett.com Fred A.

Then add to that next year get KG for (Artest/S. Blake/and a first rounder.
Mission Accomplished!!!!!!!!!!

kg to the warriors is worse for kg than it is for minnisota!

• Abel

When is Mitch going to finalize a deal. I know that Minny’s GM is stubborn and all, but Kobe apologized. Doesn’t that mean that they are going to do something or was it just for taking pressure of Mitch to do something?

• Abel

JO is just as fine with me as KG (with Odom staying in JO’s case). Any of those two would be a great addition to the team. I am running out of patience here. I cannot last for 80 days of tension and suspense.

• mastarockafella

Maybe they are just avoiding media frenzy that’s why they are keeping it down, but I hope they are working on KG. I can’t wait for 80 days. This is getting crazy.

Fred A, no one is untouchable except for Kobe. Parker is gone as is Williams. Farmar is better than Java right now. Our only trading pieces right now are Bynum, Odom, and Kwame. If KG stays in Minni this year he will opt out next year and we won’t have to trade for him (just have to hope that he will take the MLE). Your scenario is way off (sorry to say). In order to get Artest we will have to give up either/or Bynum, Odom, Kwame. Which takes us out of the running for KG this year. We need to get KG first then try to get Artest. And both of those scenarios are far fetched at best.

all the Laker moves point to a big deal. Picking Java, Gasol and the Chinese dude. One, they are moving one young PG. Two, they have two players that will stay in other leagues and not hit the cap anytime soon, but show promise. KG is coming to LA. Mark it down. If they get Magloire. Forget it. title comes to LA next season.

Lakers should just try to get Gasol who is younger than Garnett, they should also get artest. Trade Odom, Bynum, and future 1 round for Gasol. For Artest they should trade Brown, Cook, and Farmar. Sign Magliore
The Line Up
PG: Fisher
SG: Bryant
SF: Artest
PF: Gasol
C: Magliore

This will content for the championship.

• lakerfan81

I do not think that Memphis is going to trade Gasol. They just signed Milicic, trying to make their team better and Gasol happy.

Paul Pierce thinks he can win a championship if

lakers trade odom to boston

Green, theo ratliff, Exp. Contracts and fillers that’s still being worked out to minnesota

Lakers get KG.

Pierce thinks boston can win the chip with Rondo, Allen, Pierce, Odom, Al Jefferson.

Me being a laker fan i’m sure Kobe would think lakers will win the chip with Fisher, Kobe, Luke, KG, Mihm

Any ways here’s the link. Though I don’t believe it…It was on the celtics blog.

http://www.celticsblog.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=64&topic=7411.msg120545#msg120545

That would also mean Tom Lester (who has been usually right with his information), not more of an insider than you/myself (who happens to have an uncle Ronnie Lester[laker insider]) Reported this on Lakers message board yesterday.

I didn’t believe it but it really coincides with what I’ve run across from the celtics blog.

Tom claimed that KG (from the lakers stand point) could be acquired by lakers just giving up Odom, Fillers like cook and lakers 2008 1st rounder.

Tom said:

“Kevin Garnett- Known accross the world, “The Big Ticket”, would be “The Big Draw” here in Los Angeles with Kobe Bryant. According to my uncle, Mitch feels like he really wants to appease the fans, as well as Kobe Bryant, but is playing his hand very carefully right now. According to my uncle Mitch is loosing sleep over this, and his on the phone with Minnesota , “every other day” trying to get a deal in place. Larry Miller, actually has no problems trading him here for Kwame, Odom, Cook and our ’08 first rounder BUT your firiend and mine Kevin McHale shoots down every trade. The good news? Kevin wants to come here…and EVEN more so than Jermaine. If he is dealt ( an extremly liklihood now that the cat is out of the bag) he will take that as a personal threat against McHale, and would mostly likely sign with us next year for the Full Mid-Level exception? Sounds like pure pipe? I know….that’s what I thought when he first conveyed that to me. Nevertheless…. he’s the one with the connections and is “in the know”.

This is the Link to Tom’s post http://www.clublakers.com/forums/are-we-done-yet-not-quite-t77775.html

Laker Fans In Summary:

Boston Blog is excitingly reporting Lakers give up Odom Fillers to get KG

Tom’s Insider Ronnie Lester Said Lakers are working on a big Deal sending Odom, Cook, 2008 1st Rounder for KG.

Getgarnett.com is reporting today that the “Lakers are working on something big..Name dropping not necessary but it’s close ” http://getgarnett.com/blog/?p=528

Now I wonder if there’s some truth to all these rumors reporting the same thing??? Hey I personally don’t believe it till I see it, but since members on this message board always put up rumors and trade scenerios…I don’t think it will hurt to chew on this one for some hours.

Its really interesting stuff. Probally made up, but the logic is interesting and makes sense/

I’m afraid my computer will get some sort of cooties going to the celtic site. argh!

Thanks for the info.

• KBisDarthVader

as much as i would like to see this trade happen, it would put me in a very difficult position: i love lamar, hate the f ing celtics…would i cheer on the celtics?!?!?! im so confused right now

• kb24kg21

so rumor says mitch is on the phone every other day with minnesota. If so, what the frick is he talking about if nothing is happening?

• lakerfan81

Theoretically if you were just acquiring KG the just ODom and Cook match salary. But I don’t see Minny trading KG for so little. But who knows. You could also do Odom, Bynum. filler (vujacic). that works as well. But that leaves the lakers with only 11 roster spots when fisher signs. SO they would have to fill two spots with little assets. Mihm could be resigned. He ptobably would have to be for a back up center unless you could get Magloire or Moore for the vet min or what we have left of the MLE, which is very doubtful. Besides that I still do not know if that is enough for Minny. Maybe if Boston sent them a 1st rnd pick as well.

But a line up of:

C: Kwame
PF: KG
SF: Walton
SG: Kobe
PF: Farmar ( I think he will start and fisher will get about 20-25 min/g to save him for the playoffs)

Bench: Fish, Crittenton, Vlad, Evans, Cook, Mihm, Turiaf, plus whoever else was signed to fill the last requiored roster spot (we would need another big man for depth, but maybe if a trade happened before webber signed anywhere he would consider coming to LA)

Thats a pretty good line up. PJ would have to teach Kwame/farmar/fish to defend the pick and roll though (easier said then done especially since Phil Jackson doesn’t seem to good at teaching pick and roll defense)

We will just have to wait and see what happens.

• AlexKB24

Our Line up should look like this
sign francis and make the deal with minny and boston

PG Francis
SG Bryant
SF Walton
PF Garnett
C Brown

THIS IS A GOOD TEAM

Hopefully its an invite to camp. But they are reporting he signed for the balance of the min.

Check out shout box. they are more into it.

I guess this answers the Question, What center can you get for a mil? yikes

• Adam

C’mon Cliff Robinson he’s 40 yrs old and at 6’10 playing center who shys awawy from contact, but woundnt blame him due to his size and age. He wouldnt fit in the triangle offenses i believe, and the lakers could land a better center then Robinson.

• AlexKB24

we should sign francis then make a trade for ethier Gasol, Oneal, or Garnett. This would get us to the championship
PG Francis
SG Bryant
SF Walton
PF Gasol/Oneal/Garnett
C Robison (if true)
THIS IS THE TEAM TO BEAT

• lakerfan81

Fatty,
I guess that does answer the question of what center you can get for 1M. I guess it would not be too bad if he is just being signed for backup purposes if someone gets hurt.

• lakerfan81

It that is true though, it would be a strong indication that at least 2 of our big men were being traded away. Odom/Bynum or Odom Bynum and Brown. Maybe KG is coming.

• Fatty

lakerfan81

My take as well. Insurance back up to the back up. I would like to see it in print

• Kevin McHale

And there will be no speaking of Kevin Garnett, especially for the Lakers. I’d rather trade him to the Toronto Raptors than send him to Los Angeles. I’m going to take the weekend off, and then I’m officially opening talks with Golden State or any other team intrested in Mr. Garnett. “YOU PEOPLE” have a nice one.

Try to get KG or JO without trading Odom. That will be something special. I would not start Walton he not a proven stater yet.

sign francis and make the deal with minny and boston

PG Francis
SG Bryant
SF Walton
PF Garnett
C Brown

Fisher is way better then Francis. But this is what I would
do I would get Francis and do this trade (Bynum/Radmon/Francis/Mckie) for KG. Anyway Minny wants young players they got two coming there way and a vet guard.
So it would look like this: This s a 14 man roster just like they want it.

PG: Fisher/Parker/Farmer/Crittenton
SG: Bryant/Evans/Vujuvic
SF: Odom/Walton/Cook
PF: KG/Tariaf
C: Mihm/K. Brown

This sounds like a winner!!!!
I smell CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!!

Just look a Memphis record you see it is way below the basement I mean Ground-Zero. Anyway who in the world is Magliore. I would not get him. The Lakers are trying improve not take a few steps back. Lakers pursueing Chinese big man/little man duo.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,289298,00.html

Now we know why Dr. Buss went to China. He was on a scouting trip trying to secure the rights to these extraordinary basketball phenoms.

Jim Buss rumored to be the man behind the acquisition feels the little dude, He Pingping (no relation to Yo pingpong) can be the missing piece in the Lakers drive for a title. “He makes Boykins look like Wilt and Bao makes Wilt look like Boykins”

Buss feels that He is so small that teams will lose him in the triangle. “He can actually hide behind the basketball”, Buss said. Regarding Bao, the big guy, he likens him to a slower Bill Walton, more like a dead Walton. He plans on having him just stand under the basket. Without leaving his feet, Bao can dunk.

Buss is also experimenting with just tossing the little guy with the ball in his hands.

No comment from Jackson yet. But Jim Buss feels this will be enough to satisfy Kobe.

• lakerfan81

Fatty that is great news. I have seen people scouting him before. The big guy just picks the little guy up and throws him across the court at the basket. It goes in every time. Since that could never feasibly happen before there is no rule in the NBA against it. It would have to be a 1 year deal though because Stern is likely to make rule changes that would prevent that from happening because it is so unstoppable.

DFish is definetly a step in the right direction and I truly believe that we will know about JO or KG by the end of next week. Alot of the GM’s saw what everyone’s young talent can do during summercamp in Vegas which helps out the Lakers cuz Minnesota’s looking for young talent either from LAkers or a third team. Now that we have Fisher they can give up Critt or Farmar in a package. Also, the Lakers want some solution done whether its with KG or JO before Kobe shows up for U.S.A basketball workouts because they do not want him to face all that media that’s going to be following him without a solution. They know that Kobe may have been nice this past week but they also know that they can’t trust his emotions especially with the media egging him on like they will be.

• steve

On the laker ground website that inside job said that the kings want kwame and farmar plus a pick for ron ron. With the signing of mikki (im so skinny) what does that do to the artest deal?

• steve

And another thing as well.Ron artest has been chucked for seven games by the nba, does this lower his value even more?We need his defence and hunger, plus he can make better music playing for the lakers .lol

• http://twitter.com/nugge7 The Nugget
Its always the same stuff here…this that …lakers want this that…isnt this getgarnett? it isnt get steve francis…or mo williams…please its just a bunch of bs rumors…i would think a site like this would find some good inside info on the KG trade..thtas why its called getgarnett…its all rumors people create in stupid forums. This site should change its name because it doesnt talk about gettin Garnett as much as it talks about Smush Parker coming back next season. We’re tired of reading the same old stuff man…put up some interesting stories rather than some bullshit about someone other than Garnett
• kb4pres

what about the lakers signing sean paladino??? his contract with the u.k.’s pingland all stars just expired!!!
as long as he can keep away from chung’s basing he should be a great addition to the squad!!!!

• Adam

Damn i getting so frustrated with the lakers management it seems everyone in the league is making moves to better their team but the lakers dont seem like their accomplishing anything. Mo Williams just got signed so did Maglorie, and Mikki Moore and seemed like we cant get anything done. Hopefully the reason for this is the management is just fixated on getting garnett therefore if God forbid it doesnt go through we have no backup plan which equals to we are screwed and all this effort into getgarnett.com was for nothing. Again we just settle for barely making the playoffs just to lose in the first round,…. but hey maybe the lakers front office are just accustom to this.

Kobe, Odom, Garnett, Fisher, and Walton. With these 5 and fillers, this is the team that would win it all. Besides my radical idea, so much rumor and talk, but still nothing seems to happen at all. My question is, Does anyone have a real article that would give some sight on what is actually happening for the Lakers franchise as of today? What is the view on some of the players’ minds? If anyone could get some of those articles to post, it would be dope.

• LAalltheway

Crittenton had 28 tonight…I hope we don’t have to trade him, but we have one valuable trading piece with him

If there was news to be found, someone would have found it. It sucks that there’s no new info out there, but they can’t just create or find shit to post. Nothing is going down right now, or there’s just no leakage of information. We just have to wait until something comes out, or until someone else decides to speculate on the situation.

The untouchables are:
Bryant-Simply the Best in the NBA
Odom-Knows the Triangle and 2nd best on team
Vujivic-plays great defense and a good offensive play
Mihm-the only decsent center on the team
Crittenton-he show great potintial
K.Brown-he is strong he makes players pay
Parker-just give him another chance and work on his defense
Fisher-he a vet with natural skills from experience
Walton-knows the triangle and he needs to pass the ball to the right guy
Evans-you see the positives
The ones you should trade:
Farmer-he is a joke
Bynum-to slow to be great, maybe in the future
Radmon-something good to use to get someone better
Mckie-wast of bench but good point guard
S. Williams-something good to use to get someone better
Cook-something good to use to get someone better
Good trades (Bynum/Farmer/Radmon) for (JO/Murphy),
then (Murphy/Cook/S.Williams) for (Artest/a first rouder), and then (That First Roumder/Mckie) for (S.Blake/MO. Williams). So it would look like this:
Fisher
Bryant
Odom
JO
Mihm
Fred..i hope you are joking…
april fools has passed.

how can you keep a straight face when you say VUJACIC is untouchable? and Kwame makes others pay??..sure they pay for leftover cake when he is done throwing it.

Trust your feelings Jim, I am your father, come to the dark side. Together we will rule the NBA universe. Trust that feeling in your gut, its not gas, its the fartz. With the fartz, we can over power anything. No one can stand up to the fartz, when we fartz together.

May the fartz be with you, my son.

guys guys read this!…it sounds like McHale is planning on rebuilding…*(NO GARNETT?)

http://celtics.bostonherald.com/celtics/view.bg?articleid=1011393&srvc=sports
McHale has his own issues. The Timberwolves have fallen into mediocrity, and with their willingness to discuss trading Kevin Garnett, there is a feeling that change – even if it doesn’t involve Garnett – is on the way. For a variety of reasons, probably beginning with Stephon Marbury’s departure in 1999, the club simply hasn’t lived up to its promise.

“The past couple of years we haven’t played well,” McHale said. “Yeah, we’re rebuilding some, but I like our young guys, but . . . it still comes down to chemistry and how your team plays well together and all that stuff.

“I say this a lot: You can have a great record in our league and not have a great team. For example, I don’t think the Lakers teams (in the ’80s) ever won 67 games (65 in ’87 was the best), but would you take Dirk (Nowitzki) over Kareem (Abdul-Jabbar)? Would you take Jason Terry over Magic (Johnson)? Would you take Josh Howard over James Worthy? The answers are no, no and no. And (the Mavericks) won 67 games (this year). But chemistry is important now.”

It is all part of a changing NBA, according to McHale.

“Before you didn’t have to really like guys to play with them, but now it seems you have to have that if you want to win, because the overall talent level on individuals is down,” he said. “Now it’s like, ‘I don’t like this guy. I can’t play with him.’ I’ve never heard such nonsense in my life. It’s an interesting time right now.”
• Fatty

Cyrus

That’s a nice trade-o-meter. But remember there can only be one real meter dude, the one and the original [Trade-O-Meter]

Meter Dude wants to know if your trademeter wants to go out on a date?

• Fatty

darkice18

You can probally apply that reasoning to the Suns as well. Won a lot of games but fizzled in playoffs.

That’s why I’m high on Fisher, he his playoff savy. His three % goes up in playoffs and we all know about .4

• http://www.getgarnett.com Fred A.

If KG comes to L.A. Kobe should get all the credit
for making that happen. The Laker’s Orgnization should
thank Kobe Bryant. I would to!!!!!!

• cyrus

Fatty,

Well. There is problem, my TOM (Trade-O-Meter)is a dude too and he ain’t gay. My TOM is suggesting, they should go out get drunk and chase nasty brides. Should we let them?

yea d-fish is definetely a HUGE piece of the success puzzle…cant wait to have a potential lineup of:

Fisher
J-Critt
Kobe
KG
Mihm

Why is Luke Walton in the small forward spot? That
is Lamar Odom’s spot.

that has got to be THE STUPIDEST thing ever stated by a person. even mention this years mavs in the same breath as the lakers of the 80’s is making a mockery of the game

• Fatty

KEEPBynum

Your reading the statement wrong. Mchale is saying there is no comparison between the two teams, even tho Dallas won 67 regular season games, more than most great Laker teams in the 80’s.

What makes a team great, is not the reg season, but what they do in the playoffs and ultimately winning the title. Remember, sports writers were saying Dallas was one of the great teams of all time. Same could be said of Phx. The AZ Repulic reported several times, they were as good or better than the Show Time teams of the 80’s. Nash was better than Magic, Marion than Worthy, Amare better than Kareem. Yet they have never beaten a good playoff team in three years. Phx has chemistry, but not the type that wins titles.

• Fatty

Mchale barks back at reporter, “Don’t ask me any other questions about trading KG”
Mchale (pictured here)easily the most butt ugly GM in the NBA.

Artest getting 7 games suspension. A reminder to all us, the problems that follow this guy. Jackson gets 7 games for shooting gun.

I’m concerned Kwame will get 7 games for throwing a cake.

This should be our starting line up:
PG- Earl Watson
SF- Lamar Odom
C- Marcus Camby
SG- Kobe Bryant
PF- Kevin Garnett

Oh and, does anyone know slava’s last name? Medevenko?
