ESPN recently put out a list this morning of the best unemployed free agents available (Insider required). One name that came up was Stackhouse. What do you guys think?

Here is what he had to say about the possibility of donning Purple and Gold…

“I would LOVE to be out there,” Stackhouse said… Judging from the tone of his voice, if we were to pick a favorite to land Stackhouse’s services, it’d be the Lakers — in no small part due to his long history with Kobe Bryant. “We’ve always competed, and we go way back. When he was a rookie, before he even started his rookie season, John Lucas had he and I out on the track running. He knows how I compete and work, so we’ve always had that mutual respect. Kobe’s got a gamesmanship about him, he knows how guys look at him in awe. I’ve seen several times when he came over to the bench where I was and would not say anything to anybody on the whole bench, but then he’d look at me and say, ‘What up Stack?’ So there’s a respect there both ways, I believe.”

Absolutely on board – veteran, class, solid

  • mr.laker19

Again, no apposed to this either. I just see that we have alot of dead weight on our roster. These are all the people i think dont contribute enough to stay.

    Adam M
    Mbenga
Josh Powell ( I kno hew plays hard but i dont like him)
And Sasha (Way to inconsistent, this is the longest streak I ever seen for a so called “pure shooter” Maybe he is not as pure as we once thought)

I only imagine if we replaced Sasha and Morrison for Iverson and Stack. HUGE upgrade to me

  • drive-for-16th

    DO IT MITCH!!!

  • lakerman1

That’s exactly what we need players who want to contribute for a contender like Ron. If Kobe repects him i’m on board.

  • drive-for-16th

lETS GET HIM BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE TRIES. WE NEED TO ADD PLAYERS LIKE HIM AND DUMP TRASH WE HAVE SITTIN ON OUR BENCH.

    Definitely, good choice.

  • Jim

I like the idea, I’ve always admired his game.

  • KING

DO IT!!! rather have him backing Kobe than Sasha… he could be a ron harper/glenn rice type dude

  • gofeedtina

    do this Mitch

  • alive

washed up with no experience of the Triangle in his entire career.

If our offense isn’t flowing well with guys who’ve been on this team for 2 years+, how do you think it’ll flow stack jumping in?

  • Ronin99

Pull the trigger Mitch. Besides, Luke will be out for a while.

  • drive-for-16th

its him or iverson. BOTH ARE BETER THAN WAT WE HAVE NOW.

  • xtro

he can shoot. he can relieve kobe off the bench. do it.

  • Kid Kaos 310

Simply sign him for the league minimum. We need Stackhouse’s defense and instant offense. It’s a perk that he’s a vet with experience in the playoffs.

With the exception of Shannon Brown, Josh Powell and DJ Mbenga’s defense; our bench is god awful!! We have 2 1/2 players who contribute off our bench.

When Pau comes back, our bench issues will hopefully be solved with LO becoming the main focal point of the bench mob which in turn should take pressure off of the rest of the 2nd and 3rd string guys.
If our bench continues to suffer after Pau gets back, it’s time to start trying to deal the following players:

    – Sasha Vujacic
    – Jordan Farmar
    – Adam Morrison
    – Luke Walton

So far, everybody’s production has dropped since last year with the exception of Morrison who is a non factor anyways.

  • TOUCHING_MYSELF

Yes to Stack and no to AI! Stack has proven to be the complimentary bench player over in Dallas the last few years. He had no problems sharing the ball and/or coming of the bench. He was a good defender and is probably still decent at his current age and he’s got a nice jumper. He’ll fit in nicely and would be a great addition to the second unit especially with Luke out of commish!

Based on what he’s been sayin, he’s lobbyin hard to get onto our championship team. Let’s bring him on board!

  • Bstack

What’s next? Trolling the senior citizens rec center? Might as well see if Horry’s suit still fits.

  • drive-for-16th

WE ARE WAY OVER THE LUXURY TAX, IF WENT HIM WE HAVE TO GET RID OF SOME PLAYERS. WE NEED TO MAKE SOME FUKING TRADES. GET RID OF VUJACIC, FOR GOD HAVE MERCY!

  • Jim

I heard Monta Ellis is on the block,I don’t know how the salaries match up, but I wonder if Golden State would take Farmar, Sasha and Luke for him? He’s a quick small point guard with some serious offensive skills. He’s torched the Lakers on more than one occasion.

  • LAKESHOW420

WE REALLY NEED TO DUMP SASHA AND GET A QUALITY PLAYER LIKE STACK!!!!!

  • http://57.amklac kobe,bi-curious?

he`s way to unselfish, wouldn`t mesh with the a-holes on this team….

  • LakeShowAllDay

YESSSSSSS DO IT, KUPCHAK BRING STACK 2 THE LAKESHOW >:D

  • http://vinginor@aol.com onlyone laker fan in L.A.

First of all we are the knicks taking washed up players.
Allen is good but has attitude. We cant control him and artest way to much.
    Stackhouses his knees are shot.
Lakers need a good point guard we know Fisher is not as quick and his shoting is bad. Shannon will be a good back up for the future,
