Sounds like Fisher will be suspended for game 3 while Kobe will be dished a flagrant foul.

L.A. Times: Derek Fisher will likely be suspended for Game 3, according to a league source. Jordan Farmar or Shannon Brown would start in Fisher’s place.

Kobe Bryant will likely receive a flagrant foul for his elbow to Ron Artest, but won’t be suspended.

  • Oriba

ok whatever Stu Jackson…….just make sure you know what Boston (*cough* Rondo *cough*) is doing too.

  • Eidraq

kobe never elbowed artest’s throat…it was on the upper chest above the R on the rockets jersey

  • LakersFirst

No sh*t Rondo, doesn’t get suspended for smacking Brad Miller in the face and chipping his tooth but Fisher gets suspended for that. Where’s the f*cking consistency.

F*ck David Stern – worse commissioner in sports. Let them play idiot!

  • Mitch4Pres

    BULLSHT WHAT ABOUT RONDO

  • http://neoshocapital.com Farmabrick

Stu Jackson sucked as a coach and he sucks as the head of NBA discipline. Why does this loser keep his job?

  • 123kid

what is so complicating about this man’s job? like the guys in tnt and the sports media make it seem like stu jackson is like the president of the united states. he had to remind himself on his blackberry on what videos to watch and what calls to watch! and on top of that, they make it seem like it takes hours and hours and hours to watch a video on a play and make a judgment. like ok! im sure u do have a lot of responsiblities, but i think this guy makes the most simplest thing to do, rocket science! i’ll accept his judgment on fisher because clearly video shows fisher knew scola was coming, but you have got to be kidding me on that call for rondo! but whatever, farmar better see this as a blessing that he will be getting heaving minutes friday!

  • 1bighazard

Kobe did not elbow Artest in the throat.EIDRAG is correct. Artest initiated the contact and Kobe retaliated. He should not be called for a Flagrant foul. Fishers foul looked a lot worse than it was. Stu Jackson has always been a Laker hater.

    MUTHA F**KIN SON OF A BIATC* RONDO………..

  • Dragon

Well the most important thing now is Shannon or Farmar doing their job as the point. Their time to shine so they better do it right.

first off, stu jackson is the one that’s going to be reviewing the play.

secondly, you can hate david stern all you want, but you cant deny what he has done for the nba. since he came, nba involvement in outside organizations has increased. he has helped the nba shed negative labels with things like the dress code. helped create a developmental league. most of all, he helped make the game an international thing. so hate him? sure. worst commissioner? you should rethink that statement. ask bud selig how he likes his job right now…

Moron!! Who do you think hired Stu Jackson, IT’S DAVID STERN!!!!

If you just want to look at the financial aspects of the NBA during David Stern’s tenure in the NBA, yes the NBA has done well, but look at the entertainment value of the basketball – it’s complete crap!!!

And the dress code?? Are you for one telling me you’re a fan of the dress code. Last time, every single NBA player laughed and hated the dress code. The dress code is a laughable part of the game and you bought in to that crap.

The NBA is a sports league. It is not a league that is designed for the players to be role models (they are athletes trying to WIN a championship). If you want a sport where the athlets HAVE to dress a certain way, go watch golf or tennis.

And if you think the NBA going international orginating with David Stern, you are completely wrong and igornant. Internationl basketball players had their own leagues to compete in and as time went on, they started being recruited by NBA teams (not David Stern). Eventually more and more players started being recruited by teams that David Stern hopped on the international bandwagon.

Yes, David Stern is terrible commissions. The quality of basketball is a disaster since David Stern took over the 80’s. What he tells officials to call is complete crap. He instructs officials what to call to keep the game “family oriented” (notice that the NBA is in bed with ABC/ESPN

You noticed how crappy the play was in the 90’s??? David Stern is lucky that guys like Lebron, Kobe and Wade came about because the way

The dress code is a laughable part of the game and you bought in to that crap. Again, this David Stern trying to present players as role models (i’m surprised he hasn’t banned tattoos yet) The NBA is a sports league. It is not a league that is designed for the players to be role models (they are athletes trying to WIN a championship). If you want a sport where the athlets HAVE to dress a certain way, go watch golf or tennis.

And if you think the NBA going international orginated with David Stern, you are completely wrong and igornant. Internationl basketball players had their own leagues to compete in and as time went on, they eventually started being recruited by NBA teams (not David Stern). This is something that was going to happen regardless of who was commissioner. Eventually more and more players started being recruited by teams that David Stern hopped on the international bandwagon.

Yes, David Stern is terrible commissioner The quality of basketball is a disaster since David Stern took over the 80’s.
You noticed how crappy the play was in the 90’s??? David Stern is lucky that the Lakers had Shaq and Kobe at the beginning of this decade and now he is luckier that there is franchise like Lebron.

Furthermore, what David Stern tells officials to call is complete crap. He instructs officials what to call to keep the game “family oriented” (notice that the NBA is in bed with ABC/ESPN, who is owned by family oriented Disney!!!). If you don’t buy this, then have you noticed what ticky tack, cheap fouls are being called and any type of aggression is an automatic technical. Back in the 80’s, when McHale clotheslined Rambis, that wasn’t called a technical, it was just a regular foul – in today’s David Stern’s officiating mess, that would be an ejection and a 2 game suspension – it’s ridiculous and that is due to David Stern, not Stu Jackson.

Even worse, you noticed players/coaches can’t even make one critique of the NBA. Why do you think that is? Because David Stern fines them.

And for you to bring up Bud Selig comes out of left field. Baseball’s issue is with the players doing steroids, not him trying to present baseball as family oriented product. The fact of the matter is, nobody gives a sh*t that baseball players are doing steroids. Now that more and more players are hitting home runs easier, attendance is higher (haven’t you noticed this in the past 10 years) and yet fans still don’t care that over half of MLB is doing roids.

Yes, David Stern is a sh*t commissioner. He has turned a physical game of basketball into a laughable pile of crap where any slight evidence of individuality or physical play is immediately disciplined. If you think David Stern has increased the entertainment value of the league, then you need to start rethinking and take look at the way the game was played in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s and compare it to today (it’s laughable).

  • roro

i knew derek fisher will get suspended, but did he sent a huge message. now its up to farmar and brown to stepped up. This is going to be a interesting series. Its better than denver and dallas because the rockets and lakers hate each other and i love it! if they did suspend kobe for game 3; he would have been super pissed and won game four.

  • jxanthony

im not going to lie–the d fish hit was hilarious.

  • Mr. WoodCock

Please start Brown and limit Famer’s minutes cuz he sucks major c0ck!

  • UhOh

Farmar, I think, has an advantage in this series actually. I was particularly paying attention to his defense the past two games on Aaron Brooks. He was fast enough to give him a hard time to get position, but you just have to hand it to Brooks, he can definitely make some shots. This is pretty self-explanatory given that PJ gave him some good minutes last night. He’s starting to get the gravity of the situation, I think. He’ll be a bright spot in this series if he tries harder. I’m just saying, he was not bad at all last night. I like how PJ puts both Farmar and Brown in. It just gives the line-up much more speed. So I really think Farmar’s going to be an asset, if he does exert more effort, which was fairly evident last night.

Why dont we have Mbenga drop kick Yao on his ungly face.

  • Smush Walton

The Sukdics have always been the prima donnas of the league. When the Lakers win a championship it is an ACCOMPLISHMENT because they have to earn it, OVERCOMING the Sukdic loving Stern, Stu Jackson, and their stooge BS refs!

  • Kenny Smith

Farmar needs to wake up. Every time we oint our camera to him sitting on the bench he is yawning. And Bynum needs to look alive too!
