Shaquille O’Neal joined KTLA Channel 5 on Monday morning to promote his new book “Shaq Uncut: My Story”.

O’Neal talked about the NBA lockout, his relationship with his father, and of course his former teammate Kobe Bryant.

The quote that created headlines was what Shaq had to say about Kobe, and where Bryant ranks amongst the all-time Laker greats:

“Based on what he’s done, he’s probably the greatest Laker of all time,'” O’Neal said of Bryant on KTLA Monday to promote his book, “Shaq Uncut.” “If he gets another championship, he’ll tie with Kareem. That will put him up there.”

When asked if he respects Kobe Bryant as a man, Shaq had this to say:

“Of course, I respect him as a man. You have to respect everyone as a man.” Shaq said.
