A lot of respect for Kobe from three of the main Houston players. They also claim Kobe is the best in the world and MVP.

battierSLAMOnline: “Kobe. Kobe. You have to be ready,” said Aaron Brooks. “This is what he lives for. He wants another title. It’s our job to stop him.”

“In my book, he’s [Kobe Bryant] the MVP,” Battier said. “He’s had a heck of a year. This is his best chance for a championship, so he is going to come at me and Ron.”

The buzz is already building for the Kobe-Artest match-up, and Ron is ready for it.

“I expect him to try to kill me and I know he expects the same thing. After that we will see what happens.”

i like battier a lot and i like him even more after he said ““In my book, he’s [Kobe Bryant] the MVP,” Battier said. “He’s had a heck of a year. This is his best chance for a championship, so he is going to come at me and Ron.””

after his Houstons year we would love to have battier here in LA.
    Welcome to LA Battier!!!

I’m sure what they’re saying is genuinely truthful, but I also feel that it’s a publicity stunt to counter the idiot remarks that Artest made about Kobe. It was such an idiot move on Artest’s behalf to light a fire under a player’s ass [Kobe] when he is already one of the most motivated guys in the league already.

Somewhere along the lines, someone on the public-relations team of Houston told Artest to stop yapping about Kobe — similar to what Greg Popovich tells his Spurs.

I agree. But we all know that “the true warrior” can’t keep his pie hole shut! If there’s a foot out there… it’ll find it’s way into his mouth! And I think that we all agree that we welcome him being his usual dumba$$ self. This is what Kobe lives for. Kobe loves it when the opposition talks trash so that he can go off on them!

Hey ron ron, get ready… cause Kobe’s about to tell you how much he “loves you” soon! Remember the last time that he said he loved you? You guys were on a run and then he ended that with some and ones in yo face! Here it comes!!! I can’t wait!

    Go Lakers!

Ron Artest said “I expect him to try to kill me and I know he expects the same thing. After that we will see what happens.”

Ron, Ron, Ron? Gotta luv this guy! Gives Kobe new material to hang in his locker every day. I have a feeling that we’re gonna see more finger wagging by #24.

Kobe Bryant said “He should know better” Nuff said!

F*ck the MVP award. Individual awards don’t mean anything. The championships is what it’s all about. Remember, the logo on the front of the jersey… LAKERS

Why worry about Lebron? he’s a great player … MOVE ON!!!

Always remember, the Lakers were here before Kobe and they will be here after Kobe (don’t get me wrong Kobe’s a great player), but moving forward, we are in the playoffs, everything is about the LAKERS (the team) winning the championship.

  • barry

or what he did in game 3.

and if houston is playing cleveland in the finals: “….In my book, he’s [Lebron’s] the MVP,” Battier said. “He’s had a heck of a year. This is his best chance for a championship, so he is going to come at me and Ron.”

    it’s nothing but lip service.
