The (55-21) Los Angeles Lakers are back to work at Staples Center to host the (36-41) Utah Jazz. The 77th game of the season will be the last in the season-series while the Lakers are seeking to get back on track and start a new winning streak. The Lakers lead the Jazz in the series 2-1

The Lakers had not one but two scary moments in the loss to the Nuggets. Pau Gasol went down and Andrew Bynum left the game. Potential injuries to two of the most important knees in Purple and Gold were causes for concern.

Andrew Bynum stated that his knee is fine after his latest bout with ‘friendly fire’ and vowed to play tonight. Pau Gasol had a precautionary MRI, stated that he felt better on Monday than he did on Sunday. Gasol went through a full practice on Monday. He’s not missed a game all season.

The Lakers are seeking their 18th straight home win over the Jazz. The Jazz, losers of eight straight and completely out of the playoff picture, are playing out the schedule.

Six games remain on the Lakers regular season schedule. They need five more wins to achieve 60 for the 12th time and third under Coach Phil Jackson. Actually, all seven of Jackson’s teams that have amassed 60 wins have won an NBA title.

The Lakers had five players score in double digits against the Jazz four days ago in a 96-85 win. The most impressive aspect of the win over the Jazz was that the Lakers overcame a 17-point deficit. The’ve taken the last four season-series against the Jazz.

The Lakers have had a lethargic start to their last two games that trend needs to stop. Since the All-Star break, they have had success playing like the hunter, but on Sunday, the Lakers played like the hunted.

The Lakers need to jump on the Jazz early, establish a lead and then build said lead to place doubt in their minds. They also need to control the tempo of the game, stop the dribble penetration of the guards, and communicate on defense as well as do a solid job defending the screen and roll play.

It is imperative that the Lakers take care of the ball, get back in transition and out-rebound the Jazz.

Well, time to get back to work after sunday. Lakers should be very focused, and I expect a less then 10 turnover night. Lets go Lakers !

  • LakerMarc

I’m a homo so don’t mind my comments

    • LakerMarc

      You’re also an imposter

  • juanv

R u kidding me losing to the jazz at home the is unacceptable at home what the hell is wrong with Kobe he is playing like shit and why does phil take bynum out at the end of games .

  • Luke Sucks

The Lakers played like crap……again. Brown is absolutely horrible on defense. A little less showboating and a little more discipline. You are no Kobe.

Also why does PJ play Walton? OMG! 0 for 4 is pathetic. When the opponents see him on the court they know that he has no offense and sucks on defense as well. Keep his ass on the bench please!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tony

The game was going fine until Shannon Brown aka let me dribble 15 seconds off the clock came in He needs to leave after this season so we can get a real bench

Luke just need to NEVER put on a jersey again

I watched NCAA women’s title match and I saw 6 players I would rather have on my team than Luke scrap ass.

  • Al

Kobe will never admit that he blew the game against Denver and today against Jazz. His shooting percentage is disproportionate to his ego. Turn overs after turn overs and no defense. Phil is too much of a pussy to tell him something or bench him. And why is Bynum sitting during the critical time, especially when he is having a career game in rebounds. Phil is just stealing money from Lakers and he doesn’t give a damn.

    • Al

oh, and my grandmother plays better than Luke

      • LakerMarc

        Everyone plays better than Luke.

  • LakerMarc

The Lakers sucked tonight. Any momentum gained is quickly being lost.

  • juanv

Fuk all this we need t o call out kobe he lost this dam game just like the one against denver he needs to feed bynum more instead of jacking up three pointers the lakers wasted 23 rebounds from bynum . Bynum also looked pissed when he got benched gasol needs to hold on to the ball with his pussy ass hands

    • LakerMarc

      Pussy Ass Hands…..

      • juanv

Thats right how many times does he get the ball stripped .its like playing against a girl u just take the ball away like nothin .

        • LakerMarc

Before any of the UBER sensitive Lakers Fans get all butt hurt I dont think Juan V was trying to insult anyone, afterall the WNBA has some great players…well do they? I can’t really say they do. I assume they do since its a pro league.

  • Eric B.

LOL this was almost an exact replica of the Denver game. no focus, horrible crowd like usual, way too many turnovers & the bench playing like a bunch of D league players. Luke Walton lmaooooo I seriously feel bad that Dr. Buss has to give this bum almost half a million dollars a month. Good god he makes me cringe everytime he touches the ball. Shannon Brown has the basketball IQ of a rock, I hope hes not in a Laker uniform next season tbh. Number 1 seed was out of the picture after that Denver loss but they hopefully they stay in front of Boston & Miami. Thats all that matters.

  • NoDefense

    Lakers still 17/3,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,bynum great game

  • wbgk1979

    Well forget about top seed.
Hope they can stay in front of Boston and Miami.

3-Words Sloppy, Sloppy, Sloppy….first Kenyon Martin Punks the Lakers…& now a Rookie forward Gordon Hayward (9-14 for 22 pts).

Unreal…especially with so much still on the line.

Why is Kobe going back to his old ways and trying to shoot with guys draped all over him?…I thought by now he would have realized the Zebras are not going to give him the calls, yet he keeps at it, thinking they will.

Did they shoot their wad to soon, or will the REAL Lakers show up for the final 5 games?

    Only Ron Ron hairdresser knows!

  • rondo

Why the hell is Luke Walton still on the Lakers? Luke Walton should be in the D league. Their are many players in Europe and the D league who deserve a chance and play better then Luke Walton.

  • todd doerr

are you effffin kiddin me lackluster efffin effort on both ends and i just shelled out good money for my vanity laker plates ? im going to be embarrased to put them on my land rover luke walton is a joke pj sittin kobe for over half of a crutial 4th quarte flatfooted defence playing like a bunch of little girls come on and man tha F%^%&%$&^%*k up and grow a pair and act like you belong on the court
