TLN’s Playoff Report: Lakers vs. Nuggets [Game 3]

Are the Lakers really this good or are the Nuggets that bad?

Today, the Lakers cruised to a 108-84 victory over the Nuggets to take a commanding 3-0 series lead. The only question left is, will the Lakers win it in 4 games or back at home on Wednesday?

The Nuggets, once a team that scored 168 points in a game against Seattle, were held to half of that today on 37% shooting. The Lakers forced 16 turnovers compared to their 8. It’s strange that the Lakers were outrebounded by 14 and they still won convincingly.

The Nuggets stars A.I. and Melo were held to just 10 of 38 FGs in the game. The Lakers had 5 players score double figures and were led by Kobe with only 22. Even Mbenga scored!

Now, the bests of the night…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Kobe followed the brilliant Game Two with 22 points on 9-19 shooting. He also had 7 boards and 8 assists. The only downer was his 1-8 three point shooting.

2) Luke continues to baffle me. 15 points on 6-7 shooting, 5 boards, 5 assists, a steal, and a block.

3) Pau had 14 points, 5 assists, and 3 blocks. He did what we needed.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Vlad Rad played poor again with his 2-9 shooting. He did tie for the lead in boards with 7.

Play of the Game: Kobe’s quick 9 points in the 3rd quarter.

What to Look for Next Game: Look for a lot of broom sticks in the stands. Lakers Nation was represented today!

Game is Monday @ 7:30 PM.
