Phil plans to limit Kobe vs. Sacramento Kings

It’s a good idea to limit Kobe. His knee will need all the rest it can get now in October, so he won’t need to rest in June.

L.A. Times: Bryant didn’t practice Monday and didn’t speak to reporters afterward. The Lakers have three exhibition games in the next week, beginning Wednesday in Las Vegas against Sacramento, and Jackson says he plans to play Bryant no more than 16 to 18 minutes in those contests.

how about limiting his minutes to 5-6 minutes a game. Let him heal up, come playoff time pre-season record doesn’t matter….

  • Coloradio

Hopefully Kobe focuses on his recovery. Remember what happened last time when he was recovering from knee surgery… COLORADO!!!

Wow…. That comment was so low and absurd it really doesnt dignify a response….

No, no, our oxygen-deprived friend is right. Kobe needs to remember to stay away from slutty slutty young blond bimbos who have sex three and four times between pantie changes while he’s rehabbing his knee. Just stay away from Coloradio and you’ll do fine, Kobe!

^ Not to mention it happened soooo long ago and its funny all the haters are bringing it up now after not talking about it for like the past 3-4 seasons. No surprise though, winning back to back championships always brings the haters sayin stuff that isnt even relevant anymore LOL. Anyways, its good to limit his time, hopefully we can pull out a win tomorrow though and get back on the right track.

It’s actually probably good, at this stage, for those previously ‘injured’ (or recovering) to sort of take it easy at the beginning of the season, for 3 reasons:
    .
    1) it gives them more time off from the last 3 ‘full’ seasons (including finals). More rest is better.
    .
    2) it will give them a chance to build up slowly, to lead to ‘peaking’ around playoff time.
    .
    3) it will give the rest of the team a chance to learn to play together (esp. w/o Kobe, Drew). Then they will be more prepared when Kobe ‘normally’ comes out of the game for the 2nd unit.
    .
I say, don’t worry about Miami. Although there is a chance they could get home court for playoffs, I’m pretty sure the Lakers would be able to handle that having been to the last 3 finals (recall that the Lakers beat Orlando on their turf).

Another thing – why was Kobe laughing even though the Lakers were losing to FC Barcelona?
    .
    why?
    .
Because he knows that the Lakers are gonna kick a$$ this year. In addition to being the greatest player ever, Kobe is truly a basketball expert (duh!).
    .
So, in addition to studying film, and plays, and all aspects of basketball past & present (how else did he learn some of his patented moves? He’s a student of the game, AND a teacher), he knows how his team and the other teams are gonna play this year. I’m sure he knows exactly how ‘better’ his team is this year than last year, even without Drew full time.
    .
His team is ‘tighter’ than last year, and has more potential. The Lakers were already the best team in basketball, and this year they closed all the holes.
    .
Now, the whole ‘miami’ situation is perfect. The Lakers already dispatched the aging Celtics. They now have a ‘new’ formidable opponent – one that is ripe for crushing by Kobe. This will be great motivation for the 2nd part of Kobe’s career.
    .
This will be GREAT basketball, for years to come. Can’t wait to get started. And, neither can Kobe. Keep laughing Kobe, it’s gonna be a great ride for all of us.
