When Lakers coach Phil Jackson was asked if he’s had any discussions with general manager Mitch Kupchak about new trade offers on the table, he said the conversations have been about other teams in the league and not the Lakers as Thursday’s 12 noon PT NBA trade deadline draws near.

Lakers forward Pau Gasol, who was traded from Memphis to Los Angeles close to the trade deadline two seasons ago, said that all of the trade speculation hasn’t seeped its way into the L.A. locker room despite the fact that Lakers reserves Sasha Vujacic and Adam Morrison have been rumored to be on the block in a three-team deal with Chicago and Portland that would bring the Bulls’ Kirk Hinrich to Los Angeles.

“On our team there’s been talk about a player or two being moved but I guess there’s always teams calling at this time of year about players and then calling back and seeing what they got and see if that’s of interest to you,” Gasol said. “It’s just part of the business and part of our league.”
