Pau earned this. He can be a serious contender for the MVP if he puts up numbers like these consistently. The Boston Celtics’ Rajon Rondo and the Los Angeles Lakers’ Pau Gasol today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Tuesday, October 26, through Sunday, October 31.

Gasol led the Lakers to a perfect 3-0 week, averaging 25.3 points on .525 shooting from the field to go with 10.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists. Gasol opened the season with a 29-point effort in a home win over the Rockets. He also recorded a double-double with 26 points and 12 rebounds in a win over the Warriors on Sunday night.

    No doubt Pau deserves this.
Hopefully he’ll get a lot more player of the week titles.

Yeah, a few more of these, a couple of POM’s, then next thing you know, MVP! This will be a breakout year for Pau. I can feel it!

Let me put one thing in perspective for you… You come on this site just to trash talk and you try to get a reaction from people which people here are “smart” enough to give you… You may not be getting attention at home but yelling out for attention by going against the grain on this site is the wrong way to go about it… It may make you feel special when you get the reaction you desperately crave but if people here were to sharpen up and realize that if they ignore you just like they do at home… you wont matter here… So keep up your genius posts so we can ignore you while everyone here just Laffs atu!!!

Pau and Odom play so well off each other and with Drew sitting right now they are the stand outs on this team… I just hope they both continue to play like this when he comes back.

Why is Andrew Bynum afraid of Ronny Turiaf’s shadow?

Pau Gasol is kicking ass and taking names….

    Congrats Pau!

Good job. As long as he and the other lakers play at this level that’s good as far as an award for these achievement s go. I personally would not think much of them. Even the MVP award doesn’t mean nothing it’s junk and garbage. Would we only want Kobe on the year he won the award? No, we know he was MVP every year. And had better years than the one he won the award. Rings are what any fan or player want.let Nash or Lebra keep those awards. But we continue to play to win. Thanks Pau for your high championship level of play! But these petty awards are an insult even the MVP. Go Lakers
