An interesting tidbit regarding Phil’s health

CBSSports: Lakers coach Phil Jackson has yet to receive the full green light from doctors to coach again next season, but a person with strong ties to him said Monday early indications are that Jackson’s postseason physical went fine. If that’s the case, health won’t be the reason Jackson, 64, retires if that’s what he decides to do. The gut feeling with the source, who is familiar with Jackson’s thinking, remains that the 11-time champion will be back on the Lakers’ bench next season.

    This is perfect.
Phil comes back for one final run, get his fourth three peat, Kobe gets his 6th ring, and next yeat, Byron takes over since Shaw decided to go coach LeBrick.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed! I hope Phil Jackson comes back to the team, this season. Come on, Phil, we need another three-peat!!!

When they say it’s about ANYTHING else other than the money, you know it’s about the MONEY. It’s always about the money. This whole “health thing” is just a cop-out in case Dr. Buss doesn’t want to spend 14 million on a head coach.
How many more millions does a 64 year old need to live on? Phil is no different than all these ballers who feel disrespected if they don’t get an extra million here or there. If you pay me ridiculous amounts of money, then you’re showing me respect.
I don’t care what anyone says, if Dr. Buss is willing to pay Jackson, he’ll be back. Otherwise, the “my health doesn’t allow me to come back an coach the Lakers” excuse will be used.

    Phil Jackson is staying!!

“Count me in,” said Jackson. “After a couple weeks of deliberation, it is time to get back to the challenge of putting together a team that can defend its title in the 2010-11 season. It’ll be the last stand for me, and I hope a grand one.”
