This is now being reported (at least his decision on the Heat offer)…

ESPN: Amid a growing sense around the league that the Miami Heat have a real shot at stealing Lamar Odom away from the Los Angeles Lakers, Odom is expected to take the weekend to ponder his next move.

  • JFK-analysis-at-TLN

does not really matter when he makes it…as long as he stays in LA…..but hurry up LO…

  • Toon

All these years playin’ for the purple and gold, finally winnin’ a ‘ship, LO should appreciate the fortune of being a champion (not saying that he isn’t), as well as future opportunities to win more rings. LA is the spotlight. Heck, many ballers wish they could play for LA and this guy is “thinking” about it? Come on.

  • Jennifer

I hope he stays cause to be honest we wud hav zero chance of repeating next year and thats the truth u may say oh its all hood we hav kobe and ron and pau we can do this cause even Jesus wud say HELL NA……… But cmon LO wenned to take care of some business taking care of wat the celtics cudnt do which is REPEAT!

  • lucid

Odom will pick what he considers to be the best decision for him. Don’t judge him. He will be back. Have faith.

  • Smiklo

LO knows where he’s gna stay..he’s just trying to get attention and make his role for the Lakers more valuable, y would he leave? especially when Ron is here.

  • THELAKERSWON09

If lamar doesn’t stay he will lose any respect he got from me or my family.

Don’t worry, Lamar will be back. Even if he doesn’t, we are Lakers fans and we will support them until the end. Don’t worry, he’ll be back.

  • lucid

these days, basketball isn’t the same, its all about the money. what happened when it was all about the game, if lamar leaves LA, it just shows, he wanted to win a ring, and now he wants more money. Understandable in the pros, but theres no feeling like when you win a championship and hopefully go for a repeat, come on LO come back homeeeeeeeeeeeee.

  • lex

4get odom punk a.s.s talkn all that i want to stay in L.A all season long. Now he’s wants to go lose in miami well let’em we will sign carlos boozer

  • AMP

Why can’t ESPN let this state income tax thing go? Roughly speaking half of his games would be free of state income tax if we played for Miami, compared to almost none if he re-signed in LA. Assuming the CA 10% rate on ~ $9 mm, he will pay about $900k to stay a Laker. In Miami he will still pay about $270k on $5.6 mm – very roughly speaking. No matter how you round the numbers, Miami’s deal doesn’t get him anywhere near the tax-equivalent dollars that the Lakers could provide at $9 mm a season.

The ignorance at ESPN is driving me nuts.

Like Lucid was saying just Keep the Faith:

“I just put my faith in God. Through him we can do all things”

  • TJ

I think Odom just wants to have his moment right now, and feel appreciated, that’s why he’s letting this drag on…however, he better watch out, because Dr. Buss has stated he pulled the deal away from him…meaning Buss isn’t about playing games…etc. And if they loose Odom it won’t be the end of it all, trust me on that, sometimes yes his physical prowse allows him to take games off, but his energy and outside shot sometimes brings the team down a bit…but I will be happy if he’s back he does make the team better coming off the bench…

  • Victor

Dumba$$ ESPN. All they think is kobe vs lebron and a lot more of lebron. I think the executives of ESPN are always deep suckin on Lebron’s c*ck. They want him that bad. Stop the fuzz, Lakers till the end. Hey odom, maybe you need some marijuana to get your brains up and running. Too much sugar makes you dumb.

  • archer24

PLs ODOM stay with the Lakers! PLS…..

  • ToVictor

Smoking eedd makes u stupid if u want him to smoke that then he will just sign with miami. God ure dumb

  • Robert

OK, thanks LO AND Buss for ruining our last 3 weeks, AND this weekend. A decision by Monday. Ok, REALLY? Wow! Big Decision. OK, LO, you have everyone’s attention. You did great in the playoffs. Now, if you’re going to make everyone fuss over you, you had BETTER have a great season for us (Lakers) for the duration of the contract. You have upped the ante of your worth. How can you not play like a maniac for the next 4 years, after this whole escapade?

So, the decision should be: if Buss makes you an offer, take it, and get ready to bust your a** the next year (see? you have to that now that you are touting your greatness). Or, if you want to continue to be casual, have fun, and play out the next 4 years with mediocre commitment (and fewer playoff games), then go to the Heat.
Even your best effort with the Heat won’t get you another ring, and ‘knowing that’, just go if you want to have some fun in South Beach.

So, it’s 1) commitment to a championship, nice pay, busting your a**, fun with your buddies Ron and Kobe, and all the bonuses of a historical team and it’s legacy in basketball, or 2) some fun with your buddy DWade (for 1 year? DWade might bail) in South Beach – candy, marijuana, parties, etc. Some basketball in there somewhere.

I Hope this fukkin Turkey leaves…

DONT WORRY HES STAYING IN LA….ALL THIS DRAMA IS HOLLYWOOD..C’MON KNOW…THIS IS A SET UP!

  • there07

I don’t think Miami is really going after LO…they’re over the cap..all they have is MLE. Will Odom be stupid enough to go for that instead of $9-10 mil from the Lakers?…

Besides…WILL DWAYNE WADE STAY IN MIAMI AFTER THIS SEASON?…Odom will be stuck there if ever..

  • Joanna Flores

come on LO do it from the heart not for the money!!! without you its not going to be called the lakers no more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • LO 7

let him and the managment get lost both of them playing games and we have to suffer with this .

  • Robert

by Monday? guess not. Oh wait. Maybe they meant the first Monday of opening season 2009.

What is going on? Did Artest take LO out to dinner? For a pickup game? Or are they playing ‘pictionary’ with Buss?

OK, maybe I don’t want to know every detail about what’s going on, until everything is over.

In the meantime, if LO isn’t planning on signing with the Lakers, then Lakers management must be realizing that there are almost no alternatives at this point in signing season. Management must either be trusting idiots, and we’re ‘asked out’ now, or they have something good planned if LO doesn’t sign, or they know that LO will sign. So, assuming that Lakers management are not idiots, we’re going to be ok.

Lamar will Sign for the Lakers, he is just enjoying the opportunity to be a free agent! It only happens like twice in you career and only once when you are on the upside of your career. Also if not Odon look out for Rodney Carney!
