lamarL.A. Times: For the third consecutive game, Lamar Odom was underwhelming.

The two points and two rebounds Odom delivered Friday night against Minnesota came on the heels of two points and 13 rebounds against Memphis and four points and six rebounds against Phoenix. He missed 11 of 15 shots in the three games.

Lakers Coach Phil Jackson had a succinct answer when asked whether he was concerned about Odom’s decline: “Yes.”

Jackson noticed Odom changed his free-throw approach against Minnesota, and that led to a conversation, with Jackson saying Odom may have “got up on the wrong side of the bed or something happened to him.

“We know he can have little sessions of doubt or doldrums or whatever. He’ll get it back.”

Odom tinkered with his free-throw shooting, saying he tried to “baby the basketball a little bit,” which caused him to miss all four attempts.

    still counting on this loser?
hopefully he will be picked by another team this summer
i am tired of counting on him and see long stretches of his mental absence…
    2 and 2?
    are you kidding me?
1 bad game can happen to everyone…
but when someone can play like vs cavs and after start stinking it up like now …
and looking absent on the floor not fighting, smiling at his horrible free throws

    GO AWAY LAMAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lamar Odom will cost us the best record in the NBA. We got 3 tough road games and we will need him. If the Lakers don’t win the championship this year it will be BYE BYE Lamar. We should have traded him a while back.

Lamar’s value is higher than it was during the offseason so it wasn’t such a bad non-move to make after all. If lakers win the ship then mitch will just add players no trades but if we lose (which we won’t) it’s bye to Lamar and prolly Sasha. Everyone else I’m fine with keeping but if we could add a consistent Stephen Jackson type player then we won’t have to rely on O-dumb

    off the lamar odom bandwagon?

  • FarmarAllStar

I wouldn’t stress too much on it. He just needs redbull. Gives you wings!!!

Wow. People above should rethink this. In 2 of Lamar’s 4 bad games, he was in foul trouble for most of the game. The game against Memphis, he had 14 boards, 6 blocks, 8 assists and 2 points. It’s true he had a bad game against Wolves with no upside of excuse.

In summary, he really only had 1 bad game. What’s wrong with you so-called Lakers fans. Here’s a thought. Why did we lose against Suns and Denver? Lamar was in foul trouble for most of the game (some of those fouls were bad calls).

we need someone who is consistent. ‘nuf said.

I was never on ANY bandwagon. I’ve dislike Lamar throughout for being very inconsistent. A weeks or two of good stats aren’t going to cut it for him

  • Michael_23

The game he had with 6 blocks wasn’t bad. But yeah, LO needs to play like the #2 and #3 option on the team, not 6th or 7th. That’s why he came off the bench in the beginning of the season.

Let’s see that “Lamar Odom Basketball” now ..

  • lakerferlife7

he been in foul trouble….people need to stfu

  • Makaveli3

serious please need to stfu. Odom is just having some bad games, give him some slack. At least he gets us boards.

  • iv_25

Where is the people now that said odom deserved player of the week/month more than gasol? even when gasol had better stats, is more important for lakers play, and dont forget this, he is playing outside his prefered role?, i think odom is a good player, same with bynum that had 5 awesome games before the injury and a lot where he should do more,
but people should respect more the consistency and the work that gasol does, and dont forget this if someone has a few good matchs.

I couldn’t agree more. All of you Odom haters are weak bandwagon riders. This guy is an amazing talent and is a big part of our team success. He does so many things that don’t show up in box scores. Kobe has said as much so many times. Take a deep breath. It’s a long season and we are right where we need to be. A road trip may be just what LO and the REST OF THE TEAM needs to re-focus on our goal. THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!

  • yes sir

With or without Odom….Kobe and Pau already have this SHIP locked up in this biznatch…..Odom just makes winning easier that’s all…otherwise Kobe and Pau still gonna do it!!! Ye ye word!!!!!!!!!!!!
