Christmas arrived a few days early for Lakers Center Andrew Bynum.

The NBA announced today that they have reduced Drew’s suspension from 5 games down to 4 games. The league cited the shortened NBA season as the reason for the reduction.

Andrew Bynum will still see his first action against the Denver Nuggets – only it will be in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve, instead of in Denver on New Year’s Day.

With the unexpected loss of Lamar Odom and the questionable state of Bryant’s wrist, this comes as welcome news for the Lakers, who open their season at home on Christmas Day vs. the Chicago Bulls.
