After 149 days of the tug of war that was the NBA Lockout. The players and owners have finally reached a tentative deal.

The 66 game schedule will begin on Christmas Day.

According to

After a secret meeting earlier this week, the sides met for more than 15 hours Friday, working to try to save the season. This handshake deal, however, still must be ratified by both owners and players.

“We’re excited to bring NBA basketball back,” Stern said.

Reports have training camp opening on December 9th, and Free Agency getting started on the same day.

The current NBA game schedule will be re-worked, yet many believe the Lakers will still face the Chicago Bulls on Christmas/Opening Day.

It’s still only a tentative agreement. Still a good amount of things that have to happen for the lockout to officially end…just saying.

The deal is a handshake that there will be a agreement if both sides vote to ratify it and “other” additional details are worked out. That is far from an executed contract. This banner and article is the verbal definition of “jumping the gun”. But it shows both sides are moving in the same direction now. Thats good news.

No one will be a total winner. So both sides had to give some. Players will still make millions, owners will make millions, fans get there basketall back. So we all loose some and will win some.
