Nation Discussion: No “getting Garnett”… this year

epicfaceHow many of you, potentially, wanted to see Boston in the finals?

I’ve talked to many people about this personally and I’ve been rooting for the Celtics. Is that me being selfish? Perhaps. Last year we were spoiled despite the hard loss for the Lakers fans’ side of things. I really wanted to see a rematch.

Now however, we will not see that… at least this year. For those that hated and discussed all the closeups on KG during their two series, TNT didn’t show any of Garnett except for late in the 4th when Paul Peirce left the game.

Here is a screen shot of the injured KG. No more trash talking, no more talking at all. As our own staff writer Jason Riley mentioned, “Weird. I didn’t know his mouth closed…” One way or another, love them or hate them, I feel pretty upset they lost… but won’t lose much sleep over it. At the end of the day, I want the NBA championship here in Los Angeles.

Are you prepared for LeBron and co.? Are we looking too far ahead? What are your thoughts?

Lakers should be concerned with their game, before pondering off to future opponents.

Right now full focus is on Denver, and Denver ONLY.

yea suks we wont beat those fags in da finals.. but fu k them.. they got no class at all…they aint good enuff to get there… love how kg bit ch as s int tlkin finally he shut up

in my opinion if we faced them and crushed them, which we probably would, i think everyone would criticize us. the media, celtic fans, and celtic players alone would complain and babble that we won on a count that they didnt have kg and they were underman and so forth.

plus as for myself, i would wanna beat them with kg! it would be fun to smack them and drag them on the floor w/o him, but it just wouldnt be the same.

and i think the lakers would agree as well. they would wanna play the celtics at full strength as well. it would just make things that much sweeter!

we have to try n get past denver first, even with homecourt i dnt think we’re the favorites in this series, just based on how the lakers have played in the playoffs compared to the niggets, lets hope the team learned something and will play hard the whole series.

    let sprotect homecourt first!

great thing about the playoffs is you start fresh every series, ur record is 0-0 now, 4 wins to go to the finals!!

  • mr.laker19

If one things this series with the Rockets have taught us is that we need to take this one game at a time, and play every game like its game seven. Cleveland and Denver have played more consistent basketball then us, but our ceiling as a team is superior to both of them. So if we play our best, we will win, period. Letst bring it Tuesday, great job LAKESHOW!!!

  • gugy

    Fu-ck you Garnett and Boston!

I never want the Boston Suckdics to win. I don’t care if it’s the Lakers beating them or someone else. as long as these lose. I HATE BOSTON.

    F*ck Boston!!!

  • farmabrick

Let’s just win Game 1 against the Nuggets and then let’s worry about Game 2.

    Garnett who?

    Celtics who?

Those names don’t ring a bell.

Hey wheres that one PaulPeirce lover who always posts on here and talks trash on the lakers? is he embarrassed to show up now that the celtics lost by 20 on their home court in game 7? or is he more embarrassed at the performance that Paul gave during the game? hahaha Celtics aint gonna win another championship in 22 years yall

I just finish posting my comment on redsarmy.com the following:

I am tripping on all you bostonCLOWNS, just rolling, laughing!!! Boo whoo….anyways, what happen to your finalsMVP (DramaQueenPierce)??? Last I knew M V Ps dont let their teams LOSE! But I guess PP was a fake mvp. Cs aren’t NOTHING without Garnett. Shish, I can’t believe ya won the (’08championship) because of 1 man (garbage man garnett)…and what happen to Mikki Moore and Stephan Marbury a few months back yall were SOOOO excited to have them on your team??? This cheap ass site had all this kinds of stuff about “Yeah we got Moore & Marbury” and shit, ha! <<<that experiment failed!!! I’m laughn’!!! Anyways, this ones on me…NA NA NA, NA NA NA, HEY HEY, GOOD BYE!!! OH one more thing… that “losers” on your home page, really does look good on this site now, it sums it up were we the guest come to…A LOSER web site!

Now a few words from a REAL MVP…..
“Love me or hate me, it’s one or the other. Always has been. Hate my game, my swagger. Hate my fadeaway, my hunger. Hate that I’m a veteran. A champion. Hate that. Hate it with all your heart. And hate that I’m loved for the exact same reasons.” – Kobe Bryant

i wanted us to be the one to put that look KG’s face.

  • http://myspace.com/sonicussj Whatsa

as a fan, i think we should be concerned with Denver, one game at a time.

  • sketch

Fcuk you Kripple Gimp (KG)! Talkin all big when you weren’t even on the floor! We all know that you’re just a bully who runs away scared when pushed back! We saw how you reacted when Lamar Odom stepped up to you in your own crib… you fouled out on a reach in against D-Fish! You are a mental midget and can’t withstand any real heat comin back at you. You are a total fraud of a enforcer and just a coward with a bummed knee! Have fun watchin the rest of the playoffs from the audience… FCUKER!

    GO LAKERS!

  • OnenOnly24

I don’t think the Celtics are going to the finals anytime soon seeing how Lebron’s career is taking off. The three main celtics are getting older and Lebron is still getting better so it looks like their 08 championship will be their only one for a VERY long time.

DENVER DENVER DENVER DENVER DENVER DENVER DENVER DENVER DENVER

That’s what they should be worried about.

  • effcelts2life

Denver is favored in this series. We all know that WE’RE better. We need to show them who the best is! Let’s keep the focus on Denver. One game at a time!

  • effcelts4life

NBA.COM predicts Denver to win in 6… you guys believe that? Horrible..I guess they haven’t seen the real Lakers yet. Let’s show them!

  • ph33shy

    yeah i agree.

my favorite teams this year were the lakers and anyone playing boston.
it was a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL, sight seeing perkins miss three layups in a row. and that final shot of Pierce when he realize he woudln’t make it past the second round, oh man it was amazing. bastard marv albert started making excuses at the 4 minute mark. and i wanted to see a shot of that little a-hole rondo, too. and doc rivers 31-30 playoff record. can anyone say fluke Championship? yes!

okay, now that that is out of the system, let’s focus on denver.

  • ilikebasketball

also, great footage they showed of the last time the celtics lost at home in a game 7(i think only done 4 times ever?) was of Paul Pierce. ahah. and they showed him on the bench crying. hhaha.

  • http://57.amklac kobe,bi-curious

wasn`t kobe and fish-face both crying the last couple years?

  • Anthony

Eh, whatever. I would have liked to have won the championship (if we even do that this year) from the Celtics and Garnett, but injuries happen.

Too bad, so sad look forward to next year. It’s going to start getting tougher in the NBA. Everyone is growing up so fast. :-)

  • JC

That’s a nice PURPLE Tie Kevin Garnett is wearing… Looks like he’s thinking: “DAMN, maybe I should’ve signed w/ the Lakers when I had a chance.” – Poor Celtics look so SAD…

I wish we could’ve put this looks on their face and knocked their @$$’s out but I guess we got our revenge during the regular season! :)

  • http://getgasol.com getgasol

I did want to see the Lakers face Boston to get their revenge this year, but once KG was out for the season, that whole thing died. Even if the Lakers did defeat Boston this year, it would always have that big excuse hanging over it that they only won because KG was out. They would still be champs, but it would not prove that they are better than Boston.

Besides, as soon as KG was out, I know Boston had no chance to get to the finals anyway. Even if they defeated the Magic, they wouldn’t have got past the Cavs. Not without KG. Not this year.

This is the year of Lebron. The only team that can defeat him is (maybe) the Lakers.
