More “KG-to-Boston” reports

Well it sound as if Minnesota is on the verge of becoming the new, old Celtics. KG to Boston is being reported as a “done deal,” by many, while others confirm it is extremely close to being done. Here’s a few different news reports from the initial story last night…

Draft Express: Multiple sources close to the situation told DraftExpress Sunday that the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves have come to terms on a trade sending Kevin Garnett to the Boston Celtics in a package including Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair, and Theo Ratliff.

Boston Globe: When asked about the option as well as Garnett’s willingness to play in Boston, Miller added: “Part of the discussion that is taking place is addressing those issues as well as others to see if the destination makes sense for all parties. Everything is part of the overall picture as to how to bring this to a conclusion or go in a different direction.”

Boston Herald Blog: Sources this morning are confirming that the Celtics’ deal for Kevin Garnett is essentially completed.

CelticsBlog: As the trade currently stands, the Celtics would send Jefferson, Gerald Green, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair, Theo Ratliff, and two first-round picks to the Timberwolves for Kevin Garnett.

We’ll have more news pieces throughout the day as news develops.

    Shira Springer reports:

Kevin Garnett soon could become the newest member of the Celtics, multiple league sources said this afternoon but two of the sources cautioned that any trade may not be as imminent as some early reports indicated.

As the trade currently stands, the Celtics would send Gerald Green, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair, Theo Ratliff and two first-round picks to the Timberwolves for Garnett.

Al Jefferson is not included in the deal at the moment. .

    Never mind, Shira reversed field:

Al Jefferson is back in the trade talks between the Celtics and Timberwolves.

As the trade currently stands, the Celtics would send Jefferson, Gerald Green, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair, Theo Ratliff, and two first-round picks to the Timberwolves for Kevin Garnett.

That makes more sense than not including Jefferson. But how will the Celts fill in the roster with no more money? They would need to sign 4 more players.

Also, “Laker fandom at its worst.

The one player who can let the Lakers pacify the best player in the NBA goes to… the Celtics. What is this, the 60′s all over again?”

once again the Lakers miss an opportunity.

Man, we need major changes at the FO. Kobe was right. I would be surprise if he stays pass the next season.

I can careless about KG going to Boston. That’s better than Phoenix.
