This guy will stick around with somebody, our roster is just too talented from top to bottom. He is a winner and will be a nice player for another team.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Couldn’t the Lakers have dumped Sun Yue in the D-League?

I mean, Coby Karl >>>>> Sun Yue right now in terms of NBA ready.

    Plus, Coby’s a fan favorite.

    I am not pleased.

I was waiting to chant COBY COBY during 4th quarters…

Son of George Karl will be missed by this Lakers fan.

  • six45ci

finally. it took the lakers this long to realize this guy just doesnt have it in the nba. he hasnt improved from last year, this town is only big enough for one KOBE.

  • tradekwame11

I think Eddie Jones is in Dallas right now. But yeah in reality Coby is a cool dude, and I think he improved a bit over the off-season. But it was just isn’t enough for the Lakers to carry this guy on their roster.

I bet Denver is going to pick him up. LoL. And you know why. His dad was doing some scouting reports last week.

I kind of saw it coming. He had it coming. I can’t recall him making a shot during the preseason (I could be wrong). It makes sense financially anyways. Since Karl’s contract was not guaranteed (until mid season-had he stayed), Lakers save about half a mil to a mil.

  • Kb_24mvp

ITS ABOUT TIME!!! NOW WE NEED TO PICK UP EDDIE JONES!!!

  • lakerschamps09

i think the eddie jones is playin 4 the pacers he got traded.. umm idk umm i thought we shoulda kept joe crawford but watever man… it doesnt really matter cuz they aint makin an impact anyway

  • lakaluva

About time. I hope they trade Luke and Mihm next. Get some athletes on this team.

  • LakersNo1

About time! dammit. This is a good move since he hasn’t improve at all.

  • T-Dub

Sorry guys but we have another 5 years to watch FLUKE! He aint goin nowhere because nobody wants his A-S-S!!

  • DCLAKER

I say get EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE JONES TOO!This is one ex-laker that deserves to end his career on top, hell, they said PJ Brown was too old too and LOOK WHAT HAPPENED!

    Please Mitch…just get Eddie.

  • Edward

Pick up another big man, we have enough guards and small forwards.

  • RAZOR RAMON

    i say we sign lebron

  • e-bucher

we had a white guy on the team?

  • http://lakersground.net JOB WELL DONE MITCH

ABOUT TIME HE WAS WAIVED. Lakers should release mbenga too

  • xtro

Eddie Jones sounds good. Guy can play shoot and play D.

  • JSK4LIFE

WOW y would u release mbenga??? that guy has heart and is the congo master

  • enginerd baller

Man…he did make shots during the preseason….his D got a little better….and you can’t base this on skills alone…you think it had to do with his battle with cancer???….I actually was mad that they dropped him…he was a great story….I know the Lakers are wanting to win and PLEASE BELIEVE SO DO I cuz I’m a hardcore laker for life!!!…but still It would suck if his name falls away from the NBA stage all together if he was waived because his fight with cancer has been an awesome story…and I’ve seen him be instant offense given the small amount of time he is given on the court….welp…Best of Luck to Coby.

Shows how much of a real fan you are, Karl was one hell of an athlete.

  • Freshh

    In D-league^

  • Nabil

Hmm, that puts us at 14. Probably a good move. Gives us some flexibility. Hey, if we waive Sun Yue, can he still go down to the D League for us? Or does that mean we would loose all rights to the guy? He clearly could use some time down there, I’m just confused about the rules regarding the roster.

  • E-ROC

The Lakers aren’t going to waive a multimillion dollar investment in Sun Yue. Eddie Jones doesn’t have much to offer to the Lakers; there is nothing in that tank. He’s done. I’d rather have the Lakers sign DJ Strawberry. DJ Mbenga is a good back-up and knows the offense. I would’ve liked for the Lakers to keep CJ Giles, but that didn’t happen. Coby Karl will probably land in Denver and actually get some tick.

  • tradekwame11

This does not really mean anything but about Eddie Jones. I went to a memphis lakers game awhile ago and he got thrown out. But he is still a good shooter and a tough guy. Also, we all know Coby wouldve had no impact if we had kept him. He was just a waste of space.

thank you! i think Mihm for sure will be next…

  • Banzai

Ring Ring Ring Ring Ring Ring Ring Banana Phone…ding dong ding dong fanana phone!!! Coby will probably play for his father

  • kPoAbUe

man forget about eddie jones we dont need more players. nd THANK GOD THAT COBY LEFT WHOO WHOO WHOO WHOO

4th QUARTER CHERRS ONLY BELONG TO DA ONE ND ONLY KOBE.

  • Dave

Based solely on their pre-season performances, Sun Yue should have been cut first. However, I did a little research and found that Sun Yue is under a “multi-year contract.” The articles did not go into any more specifics, so Sun Yue will be around for a while. That is unless the Lakers want to cut him — but still pay him — which is unlikely unless they needed a new player and did not have any extra roster spots. However, the Lakers are under the maximum and can add a new player at any time.

  • yellowpurplefever

EURO-BOUND, good luck COBY, I like his spirit.

  • Jean Muffdiver

Hope Coby Karl ends up somewhere where he’ll get some more minutes
Walton is getting better, I wouldn’t get rid of him
Mihm, we need to see him for part of the season before we make any decisions

  • Lakerboi

    About time!

If you look at it, we are only playing 10 players this year. Taco, Powell, Lil. Magic Johnson and Mihm will play only if we are hurt.

I like LO at Center with Walton, Ariza, Sasha, Farmar as second unit. All those players could be starters on any other team…..well maybe not Walton.
