It seems that the hunt for 6 will begin against the Rockets.

Twitter: LeBron-Heat open @ BOS Oct 26, sources tell Y! Wiz Wall debuts Oct 27 @ ORL. Rumor is Lakers open versus Rockets in Yao’s possible return.

  • ThEMVP

If the rumor is true, it gives Blake/Barnes a good opportunity to develop a killer instinct from the get-go, showcasing their defensive skills against the equally motivated defensive Rocket team. Lakers additions will be on edge. Artest vs Ariza matchup will be cool too

  • Celtics Suck Salty Nuts

I’ve always enjoyed watching the Rockets play. There’s something about their game that amuses me. Looking forward to it.

  • Paul Lee

nice opening night game if true. And that Heat vs Boston gonna be another great one. October hurry up already

  • Genius

    wiz vs. clips
they should make it #1 pick vs. #1 pick
im talking about john wall vs. blake griffin

    suns vs. knicks
    amare vs. former team

    jazz vs. bulls
    deron williams vs. d rose
    al jeff vs. c boozer

    • team_me

Yah bro that will be tight.! But they doin Lakers vs. Rockets jus to throw it on Ariza. Face for leavin the Lakers.!

      • Genius

i hope artest rub his ring on ariza’s face lolz

        • TOUCHING_MYSELF

Well, there’s really nothin to rub in his face… they both got 1 ring each! Granted Ron Ron won the latest ring with our beloved Lakers, but they’re equal in ring counts. After this year then, the Tru Warrior can rub it in Ariza’s face!

Although, I guess, having the latest ring allows for slightly bigger bragging rights… especially how Artest was the MVP on Game 7!

You know what? On second thought, I’m gonna have to agree with you Genius! I think he’s got braggin rights based on how the Lakers won! Game 7 vs the Celd!cks! It’s the way the Lakers won, not simply that they won. AWESOME!

  • LakersFirst

    Hunt for 6???? WTF????

I think you mean hunt for Championship #16

    • lilkobe24

or it was for kobe and fisher.

    • ll13jl

Uhmm.. we already have 16 championships.

    • LakersFirst

I meant 17 (damn typos). He better have meant 17. I still dont know why he said 6

      • Babak

umm kobe and fisher, just like lil kobe said.. why dont u read your replys?

        • riorondoisafaggot

@babak, ll13jl was replying at lakers first. know how it works first.

      • Mike

LA Lakers truly only have 11…. just sayin

  • Ronin99

Houston in opener…lol. In yo’ face Ariza! Ron-Ron gets the ring that could have been yours! I hope Ariza tries to bring his “A” game. Because Artest and then Barnes could lock him down!

  • Get It 2together!

I think the Heat vs. Cel-dicks will be more exciting. I would like to see the Heat get beat. Don’t get me wrong, I love to see the new look Lakers beat on the Rockets. But with traing camp and the start of the regular season, they may look sloopy trying to get use to the new additions. Ron Artest didn’t come around until the playoffs lol.

  • DAMN!!

i hope the Lakers win since i live in Houston if we lose that’s my ass

  • 24allup inya

and ofcourse the Lakers will face the heat on x-mas!

    • NBAmazingKB24

      yep

      • Lakers=beast

        Kobe and LeBron on Christmas!

        • 3queenswho?

more like kobe and wade, lebron’s on wade’s team now lol

  • bostonSUCKS88

    We’re in a hunt for 6?

  • not6not7not8not9

    ONCE AGAIN ITS ON

  • Wilt

It makes no difference who plays us the victim is the victim.

  • 12gage

    6 for kobe and fisher

  • white mamba

Fuck the heat n boston we r takin this all the cmon LAKE SHOW lets get the 3peat so we can start talkin about 4peat

  • Dave

Six? 17 is the important number. While I love Kobe, his number doesn’t mean a fraction of the overall team.

    • Dave

I should have added…. we’re chasing Boston’s 17 folks. Our whole goal is to pass them, not 3-peat, not get “one for Kobe’s left hand” and certainly not 12 for the Zen Master. It’s all about catching Boston and being the winningest team in NBA history

      • LbC Ya562

Yea passing the Celtics and all that is gonna be great, but Kobe getting 6 with us and PJ gettin his 12th with us is still a BIG deal. It aint like its Kobe’s 6th with his 2nd or 3rd Team, that man could have left a couple times. But he WANTED to be here and rep L.A. So 6 for him and Fish is a BIG deal to me, passing the Celtics is the icing on the cake.

  • Trem

Well said Dave. That is THE goal. However, to pass them in the near future we have to 3-peat first. One step at a time.

    • Dave

Yup. 3-peat and tying for hardware is the goal for next year… and by winning #17 the Lake show will be #1 – most overall wins, best winning %, and tied for most trophies. Trifecta.

so who`s more fragile(soft)bryant,my finger, ouch or bynum my knee hurts so i`m not playing defense?or gasoft?

    • 242LakerFan

No, the answer is LeBron “I gnawed too far into my pinky nail so I’m taking a few nights off – oops.. was it the Playoffs? Sorry” James.
      Here’s laffin atu, kid.

    • ThEMVP

You shouldn’t be talking you NBA-knowledgeless faggot. Lebron scratched his elbow and he stopped being MVP caliber when his team needed him the most, what about the games he tanked vs the Celtics (you never mention) At *least* Bynum played through his injury and hoisted that most elusive trophy in the locker room, where the fuck was Lebron during all this? You were probably pouring hatorade while this was going on. It’s nice to know you keep coming up with original subjects to bang on Kobe. You never mention he’s a World Champion, and if Lebron didn’t have Kobe on his team Spain would be rockin the Gold – you fucking moron.

      • Cheech

Lebron James(Not King James) Can Learn A Couple Of Things from KOBE…How To Play through injuries…and How to win CHAMPIONSHIPS..Lebron just wants to dance he needs to go on dancing with the stars…He’s Using the NBA to get rich and the NBA is using him to get rich

    • SHOWTIME4EVA

hows the elbow?? oh yeah he wasnt hurt. he was just a pussy.

  • 242LakerFan

You know, when I started watching, the score was 12-6, so while I appreciate the contribution of Kobe as well as PJ, that’s what they are, contributions; chapters in the larger story of the Lakers, from the Mikan era to the West/Chamberlain era, the Magic/ Kareem era, the Shaq/Kobe era and now the Kobe/Gasol era, it’s all just different parts of one long story.
The only thing the Celtics can still hold over our heads is that one Championship that still separating us. That’s the goal. This year may be the most demanding of them all with so many teams loading up in the off-season. This is just going to make it more sweet when at the end we see that Larry O’Brien lifted into the air and can finally say without question that the Lakers are the best team EVER!

  • http://57.amklac laffs atu

you girls were missin me weren`t ya…like OBAMA, i`m about the truth.

    • 242LakerFan

I missed you just the other day, but I’m working on my aim.

    • LbC Ya562

lmao You dont know what your talkin about in politics either I see, Obama doesn’t control shit either. F.Y.I.

    • SHOWTIME4EVA

he’s gay and racist..nasty little fucker isnt he?

      • LbC Ya562

I dont know if he’s racist lol, definetely a dumb f*** though.

      • ThEMVPDaily

He’s a bugger with legs, that’s all he is. He’s a knucklehead, moreover he’s my personal hoe I like to bitchslap everyday. He has no brain. For instance good example here, if you kicked him you might as well advertise the kicking as a party or sweet 16, or birthday because it would be as fun as beating up a pinata. When you crack his head open you get nothing but a pile of candy and some party favors. So while he might be human, he would be better served being an efigy at the burning man festival, cos just like the burning man, he’s made of no vital parts and is good to light up for fun.

        • SHOWTIME4EVA

yea i know i’ve been putting up with him over a year. but he keeps talking bout guys licking they lips and other kinda shit.an shits gettin old.

  • http://57.amklac laffs atu

kobe misses about 15 shots a game….every game.

    • Westcoast B!tch

      And the Lakers still win!

    • team_me

man wtf are u even doin here u loves of so by u gotta be checkin our updates.! u love 2 hate the lakers i dont blame u we jus 2 good.! ofcourse we gonna have haters.!

    • SHOWTIME4EVA

you sure are fighting a losing battle here.15 championships! the greatest N.B.A franchise.and the greatest single player ever.and your waiting and hoping someday there will be better? not in your life time.i sleep better knowing that.ha ha

    • ThEMVPDaily

It’s funny how this loser loves to hang out at the Lakers comment board, it’s like he wants to be us. Go wear your horrible red/maroon jersey that’s tackier than the Blazers jersey. As long as that franchise keeps that dumb ass HEAT logo they will never have the aura of some of the past great teams of the NBA. The old 76ers were good, the Pistons have a decent looking uniform, the Clippers have an old-school looking uni, strangely enough those Heat owners don’t know color-coordination.
      =.
your mom misses about 15 cocks a night. how’s that taste

      • SHOWTIME4EVA

dont forget your goofy little HEAD BAND !!!! ha ha ha ha!

    • Cheech

Where does he rank on the all-time scoring list and I do believe he’s number one as the all time scorer as an laker…STOP TALKING SHIT ABOUT KOBE

      • ThEMVPDAILY

Remind me what the long awaited ratings for LBRONZE’s first NBA Finals appearance where? Didn’t we all hear and WITNESS that shit about how he was the next best thing? Those were the worst ratings EVER. TURRUBLE! Kobe would NEVER EVER EVER EVER in your Fkning worthless life get BAD ratings u dipshit.

        • ThEMVPDAILY

not reply @ you, was a followup on what he said-

  • Robert.

Lakers playing the Rockets as their opener, and so that … means…… umm …….. what ???
    .
No seriously, folks, … were the Rockets in the playoffs this year? I don’t recall.
    .
Oh Wait! now I realize – it’s going to be the return of Yao — Yao vs. Bynum. Ok, now it makes complete sense. At least 1/3 of the world (and maybe even 1/2) are going to watch the ‘return of Yao’. This is actually a big game!
    .
This is priceless!!! ALL of the NBA’s scheduling moves are calculated … so … here’s my take:
    .
Even though Miami is a big deal this year, the NBA sees it as a ‘national’ market draw. BUT, they see the Lakers as a “WORLD” market draw (including all of China, which love Kobe almost as much as Yao). Brilliant!! The Lakers STILL rule the world, in the NBA’s eyes!
    .
I don’t think that many markets (except we ‘former’ Ariza fans) give a rf about Artest vs. Ariza. And, perhaps Fish can hang up his Ninja elbows (or was it his skull?) and pass the task of Scola chest bashing to Barnes, but nobody (outside of us here) really care about this. In fact, our games against Denver are probably going to be more exciting.
    .
Yep, it’s Yao, and the Yao-ston Rockets vs. the Champs. Great show. I hope Yao holds up during this game (and the rest of the year). It’s really a shame to not have good ‘competitive’ Centers around in the NBA. (btw, are there any Centers on the Heat? Not sure).

    • ThEMVPDaily

Uhm, yeah to answer your question, I pose another question regarding the Heat and their center spot. Well we all know that everything runs through the Lakers, the length has been a major factor for some time now, I don’t see Lebron posting up do you? Until that happens, and he becomes the next Karl Malone, I don’t see that team taking any names just yet.

      • Robert.

Yeah, I know about Z. But he’s a ‘forward-like’ center, and likes to shoot mid range or 3s more than post up. Drew can handle him.
        .
As for LeB, he’s not a post-up player. He’s a great athlete, but his skill is in running over people on the way to the basket, and also can hit some ‘quite long range’ 3s. He doesn’t really have good footwork (like Kobe). It’s something that’s difficult to learn unless he would have the basics, and I don’t think he does.
        .
However, he is a great passer, and will probably play more of a Magic Johnson role, in which case he will be dangerous there. Problem is, he doesn’t have too many shooters on the team, and no great center. Z is on the decline, and isn’t anywhere near Kareem. I’m even forgetting about Bosh, but he could be a threat (but I’m sure Pau will stop him). His only good option is DWade, who is also a slasher, but not as much of a shooter (i.e., long range – although his mid-range is pretty good). DWade used to be the one to pass the ball out to his shooters. Gonna be tricky for the Heat.

  • http://57.amklac laffs atu

it`s amazing the heat games aren`t on pay-per-view,i guess were lucky.

    • laffatuPlease

I figured since u were stealing Chad Johnson’s material…I’d steal your name.

      • not6not7not8not9

        HAHAHA!

    • SHOWTIME4EVA

not every one is as dumb as you to pay to watch losers.i got an idea! send me the money and i’ll give you play- by-play.

  • Michael_23

Anyone know any news with what’s going on with Kobe’s finger and if he’ll get it fixed? Or did I miss out?

    • SHOWTIME4EVA

last i heard they probly wont do any procedure on it.that it healed and is arthritic.

  • XxMotavationxX

Shaq might be going to the Celtics ……

    • Robert.

Wow – the ultimate in pathetic. Shaq was once a Laker, and now … a Celtic???? Maybe they ‘won’t’ retire his number here. That’s … shameful. It’s too bad. I kind of liked it when Shaq was here in LA, and he could have reached even bigger heights. He blew it by not focusing on basketball as much (unlike Kobe, who will be, and already is an all time great). Shaq (although he will be in the hall of fame) could have had a much better career, and had a chance to top one of our other great centers, or at least come closer to being an all time great.
      .
What a lousy way to end a career.
