The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Utah Jazz in a lop sided Game 4 to sweep the playoff series against the Utah Jazz and to advance to the Western Conference Finals for the third consecutive year. This is the first time in 2 years that the Lakers swept an opponent in the playoffs since sweeping the Denver Nuggets in Round 1 of the 2008 playoffs.

However, theres more. Everyone knows that Jerry Sloan has been around for a while and there is no denying that he is a great coach. But in that long career this sweep marked the first time that Jerry Sloan got swept in a playoff matchup.

A week from now, the Lakers take on the Phoenix Suns in Game 1 at the STAPLES Centre.

Lakers took care of business tonight and they will have a week off. Next it’s the Suns. That is going to be a tough series, but I am picking the lakers to win in 5 games.

Go Lakers ! Bring another banner to LA.

The Suns should have no chance against the Lakers bigs ( especially if Bynum shows up because Pau has been playing out of his mind ). Amare hates playing center and the Suns have no other big matchup so Lakers should destoy them inside. Its looking like another Lakers/Magic match up in the finals because i really feel Dwight wants it more than Lebron. Orlando is the only team that can challenge the L.A. and as much as i hate the Celtics, it would be great to see Rondo crush the Cavs and win the series so Lebron can come up with another excuse ( with thumb in mouth ) my elbow hurts and walk off the court like the classless buffon he is. He just better get use to the season MVP awards because that is all he will ever win. I honestly believe Kobe could care less about that award. Its the Obrien Trophy he wants.
