A small tidbit that suggests the Lakers have offered a package of Adam Morrison and Sasha…

Daily Herald: A source confirmed the Bulls have had discussions with the Lakers about Hinrich, most likely for Adam Morrison and Sasha Vujacic, but nothing is imminent.

  • 151 rummer

Do it Mitch……Morrison deserves more playing time on another team and Vujacic hast stepped up. He always makes stupid fouls when he does get in the game….ship him to Chi-town!!!!!!!

    • pauer

I agree. I think ammo can actually produce somewhere but on the Lakers all the talent drowns him out.

How about that 3 Sasha hit last night. I wouldnt mind keeping him but he makes way too much money.

      • td

I totally agree about sasha…he doesnt deserve the money but sometimes he makes 3s and he shoots fts the best on the team

i wish they could just renegotiate his contract cuz he deserves what like powell gets [soemtimes good, mostly nothin]

I feel bad for Ammo, I can’t help it. But it is what it is.

        • LakersBabe

We would take on almost $10 million this year and another $17 million for the next two years for Hinrich. Tell me what he brings that Shannon cannot? Mitch would be an idiot if he does this trade.

          • TheLAKERSwon09

they arent trading shannon they are trading morrison

  • kobe-wan kenobi

    ammo is a joke
if we can unload his contract and sasha for hinrich it would be great
    do it mitch

  • LakersFirst

I like how you guys say “Do It Mitch”. You guys do realize trades are negotiations betweenTWO teams. Chicago has to agree to this as well (its not just the Lakers decision).

    • KB24forlife

yeah but we’re referring to “make it happen!”

that was a really dumb comment man

      • TheLAKERSwon09

        Agreed kb24

  • LAALLDAY213

Wow! I was expecting Farmar to be added with Ammo. If we can get this done getting rid of Sasha, WE WIN! I’m through with Sasha, think “1 hit wonder”, but in nba terms it’s “1 season wonder”. Only question I have is, what the hell are we gonna do with 4 guards? lol

    • Kid Kaos 310

Move Shannon to back up Kobe permanently, keep Farmar backing up D-Fish, and Kirk is a combo guard who plays great “on ball” defense. It give us even more versatility

      • LAALLDAY213

I see, I was thinking shannon would be an undersized 2 guard. But none the less, great point on Kirk, he’s an excellent on ball defender, which we lack.

  • gugy

    wow, that’s a great deal.
Anything is better than those two.

    • daboss1848

      kwame and smush?

      • gugy

        lol

        I guess even them….

  • LAKERMIKE247

the trade does work and i hope we get Hinrich
    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ykqtoze

  • proemb

If a deal with the Bulls gets done for Hinrich, it would be Morrison + Farmar. Morrison has an expiring contract worth about 5 or 6 mil, Farmar is making around 2.5 and also expires at the end of the seaon. Hinrich is making around 7 or 8 mil. Salaries have to match in order to make a trade + the Bulls are looking to shed salary to persue a big name in the off-season. No way they touch Sasha’s contract.

You Laker fans want a dynasty?

    Hinrich, Bryant, Artest, Bosh, Gasol
    Fisher, Brown, Walton, Odom, Mbenga

    Let’s get it on!…

    • http://www.myspace.com/guszo gus26

actually the bulls do need to shed salary and aquiring sasha and morrison does exactly that.. morrions is expiring and sasha has one year after this year.. they end up saving about 4 million which in their case is enough to offer a max deal to someone..
sasha will then be an expiring contract if they need to sign and trade for someone.. so here is a hypo but it gives you an idea..

say they do the trade (morrison, sasha for hinrich).. in the offseason lets say they agree to terms with one max player.. (wade).. they can then do a sign and trade slamons (5.5) sasha (5.5) both are then considered expiring contracts.. and deng (12) for bosh..

obviously there are a lot of IFs but that gives you a good idea of why the bulls WOULD do it..

      • keepon_keepinon18

I never thought of it that way. I guess Sasha is an expiring contract next year and that could be attractive.
Still though, considering the big free agency is coming up this year, it might be better to not have Sasha for the Bulls. It would have to play out very well for Chicago (I’m assuming they wouldn’t want Sasha and his contract for the whole season).

        • http://www.myspace.com/guszo gus26

remember one thing.. after next year there will be an new CBA in place that will pay players less.. which means MARKET WISE sasha’s 5.5 expiring will actually be closer to 8.. not in numbers actual numbers..

with the new cba, think of it as a 1.5 to 2.5 deduction on everyone and anyone making less than that amount will stay about the same..

  • LAKERMIKE247

COULD ANYONE GET THIS THROUGH THIER HEAD THERE IS NO NEED 4 BOSH 4GET BOSH.BYNUM>BOSH

    • 151 rummer

YEAH….Bynum may have his issues, but but he can be a monster under the basket. As long as he can get used to playing w/ Gasol, hell b fine, and of course stay healthy

      • Andrew Bynum

No, I suck… Just trade me and end your misery.

        A Bomb out

        • 151 rummer

well at least your being honest Drew…thanks for the heads-up!

    • LakersBabe

No educated fan would agree to a Bynum for Bosh trade. Gasol and Bosh play the same with Bosh a little better on defense. That’s it. No Rupaul for the Lakers.

  • pricelesst

honestly, idk why bulls would agree to that at this point

    • td

      exactly
hinrich may have a minor injury but hes much more productive than ammo and sasha

      • lkr08

they already got devin brown who for them, at least the rest of this season, can do wut hinrich does but for MUCH less so theyre in postion to trade him. To the lakers?? that remains to b seen, i HATE rumors that have o credibility. Amare to chicago, cleveland, new jersey, minnesota, now san antonio. They just get annoying after a while but hopefully this works our for the lakers

    • LakersBabe

I will tell you why. They want to pawn off their garbage on the Lakers.

  • Richard

great deal. hop it works out

  • mr.laker19

This is a no brainer, idc what anyone says, that is another genius mitch k steal in my book if he gets this done

  • mystified

your whole bench is not worth kirk keep your sorry players where they belong cheerleading

    • alive86

I’d rather have Hinrich cheerleading than an Ammo+Vujacic cheerleading combo.

It will benefit the Lakers if they can do this trade without adding Farmar into the mix. It would be fun to see Hinrich take up all of Farmars minutes and have him bitch about it like he does with everything.

    • xtro

      this is a lakers fansite.

  • ilikebasketball

    why would bulls do that?
    that’s insane.
no way that the bulls would do this.

  • keepon_keepinon18

Considering all the aspects, for Sasha AND Ammo, I’ say its an excellent trade. Why would the Bulls want Sasha though?

    • keepon_keepinon18

Hope gus26 is right, this would be great for the Lakers. How can I tell? The haters are going to be annoyed at this possible steal.

    • 151 rummer

Who cares y they would want Sasha! as long as hes not in the purplr and gold anymore!

  • http://www.myspace.com/guszo gus26

for people who ask WHY the bulls would do it.. read my comment above

  • xtro

yes! do it mitch. hope this goes down soon!

  • TOUCHING_MYSELF

OMG! Please make it so! I’m saying this to the Bulls organization, because I’m positive Mitch’s already bought those 2 their one way tickets to Chicago!

By the way, those 2’s nicknames should officially be changed! Sasha should not be the “machine”, but the “VENDING MACHINE”! The reason is because just like a vending machine, they’re not dependable, sometimes they take your money and you get nothing in return and you’re pissed as hell!

And Morrison should not be called the “ammo”, he’s more like “BLANKS”, and that should be self-explanatory!

    GO LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!
    and
    GO AWAY SASHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    GO AWAY MORRISON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • L.A.

Hinrich would fit better than Sasha and Morrison.
Hinrich have a good IQ vision and a good solid defender.

    • 151 rummer

i agree…..u get rid of 2 players that for whatever reason are not having any impact on the game other than in “garbage” time….Hinrich can have an immediate impact during any part of the game because of his abilities to shoot, distribute and defend!

  • Leo

Why would the Bulls want our trash for a good player?

    • TheLAKERSwon09

Because our trash is better than most team’s starters

  • http://www.myspace.com/guszo gus26

AND THIS MY FRIENDS IS WHAT THEY MEAN BY THE RICH GET RICHER.. hahahaha

    • 151 rummer

as long as the championships keep rollin, in!

  • http://TheLakersNation Marwan..

If this deal is done, Mitch without a doubt would be the smartest GM in the history of the NBA, simple as that.

    • 151 rummer

      Smarter than Jerry West?

      • Green Flannel

yea he had one of the greatest move with kobe but you gotta keep it comin i mean pau, drew and shannon, and now possibly kirk. wow!

        • mr.laker19

Jerry put together shaq and kobe, but mitch put together kobe, pau, bynum, odom, AND artest. Its close… real close

          • LakersBabe

Kupcake is a terrible GM. Get a clue! He’s the fool that gave Vuyacic and Walton their ridiculous deals. Now he wants to add Hinrich at $9 million. WTF!

          • Green Flannel

he also got pau and shannon. dude he is a genius!

  • im confused

can anybody tell me what Hinrich brings to the table, only time i really saw him play was in the 09 playoffs. can someone tell me how is his offense, defense, intensity etc etc stats too? thanks

    FCUK LEBRON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • LakersBabe

He brings nothing that the Lakers don’t already have. To take on his contract, even though we get rid of our garbage is stupid. Morrison’s $6 million disappears next season.

If your gonna trade expiring contracts, you don’t add take on more bad contracts.

  • sep08

To all the people saying why would the bulls make this trade, you have to realize that trades in the NBA are done based on salaries and not just talent. Hinrich is owed 17M for the next 2 years which is a big chunk of money for a team that is in the rebuilding stage like the bulls. If they can get rid of his contract, the bulls can save alot of money for this summer and the summer after that. The bulls will have only 34M commited for next year which means they can go out and spend a good 20-25M on free agents like Wade, Lebron, Bosh etc….. Hinrich’s contract is pretty big to be honest and I dont know if the lakers should take it on. He’s a pretty good defender and can shoot the 3, but at 9M per season he is a bit too pricy.

    • LakersBabe

Agreed! His salary is way too much. You think Hinrich is worth more than Artest and Odom? No way, pass on this deal!

  • Reese

I say “LET’EM GO MITCH” all these guys are doing is taking ouf cap room and space. I know we need to make a move for the bench sake. i think with Hin coming off the bench getting use to the triangle off. we will be fine. Ron is still on the shift move; walking thru trying to find where he fits.

  • kobe-wan kenobi

we get hinrich for ammo and sasha
which prepare us for bosh for farmar and bynum

    lets do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • LakersBabe

So you want to blow up the season? Think carefully before you post.

      • Green Flannel

that was clearly a dumb thing to say but we can say whatever the hell we want you dumbass.

  • BE_A_LakerFan

Pull the trigger Mitch.. Now. lol

  • 09champs!

I like the Hinrich idea, but i dont want Sasha to be included, just give him time, he has shown he has his touch back, but i understand there´s just no room in the rotation, Adam and Farmar, even though he has been playing great as of late, i feel he has like a cocky attitude.

    • lakerbunny

      I REPEAT! GOOD RIDDANCE!

  • manu

4 point guards? come on… it would make sense if we trade farmar or brown also

    • BE_A_LakerFan

Hinrich is a SG, not a PG. He’s basically taking Sasha’s spot.

      • kert

        He’s a PG first actually…

        • BE_A_LakerFan

Well that may be the case but he can play either position. He’s a SG/PG. Look at the Bulls depth chart and he’s listed as SG. I’m just saying that in response to the comment about 4 PG.

          • lilkobe24

well thats what he meant too

    • LakersBabe

LOL! Fisher and Farmar are point guards. Brown is a combo guard and Vuyacic is a shooting guard.

Hinrich is a combo guard. We need a true point guard folks not a shooting or combo guard.

  • lakerbunny

I LIKE MORRISON’S HEART AND PASSION FOR THE GAME! AFTER ALL HE’S CRIED ON THE COURT IN DEFEAT JUST LIKE FISH AND KOBE, ALTHOUGH HIS TEARS WEREN’T DUE TO SHAQ’S FAT LAZY A$$!!! MITCH SHOULD PURSUE THE TRADE THOUGH IF IT’S AVAILABLE. THE LAKERS NEED PGUARD HELP! MORRISON COULD ALWAYS COME BACK AS A FREE AGENT IF HE WANTED TOO! AS FAR AS VUJASLIT? • bc18

that would be a steal if it happens! however, i dont wanna trade sasha cuz i wnted to buy my gf his jersey cuz hes her fav player and if they traded him, she would be sad lol…also, if they did get heinrich, put him in the starting lineup! this guys a great defender and he runs a team well. hes also clutch, if you guys dont remember him a couple years back; he was one of the upcoming pgs in the league.

  • leo

bynum farmar for bosh, hinrich for ammo n sasha

    then we got

    hinrich, kobe, artest, bosh, gasol

fisher, brown, luke, odom, powell, benga,

maybe sign sun yue to buy chinese take out

    • LakersBabe

You have no clue. The deals you propose plain suck!

      • leo

go suck some cock dumb biatch ….

  • letherebelight

this is a great trade, if it happens. Maybe Hinrich needs to move. when a player leaves an unhappy situation and comes to a contender, they tend to thrive. Other issues, i dont think we have any, all the Lakers need to do is play as a team . make the extra pass. O yea artest needs to rest or change his shoes.

  • Karl

Man – that would be so awesome!!! All I know is that Sasha and Morrison are a waste of money for the Lakers – might as well try something new. It can’t get worse – these guys are not even playing.

This move makes more sense than Bynum for Bosh. Bosh is too much like Gasol imo…yet I still feel that Bynum is a lazy bum.

  • LkrsFanToNgtive

I would love to see that trade happen

  • drive-for-16th

    Fuck Bosh, Get Hinrich.

    • LakersBabe

      Don’t need either player.

  • http://thebasketballoracle.com Joey

If we did this trade, we would have to trade Jordan Farmar for a backup SF. There would be too many guards and Farmar would get pissed getting no minutes. Farmar for one of the Knicks or Nets SF’s would be good.

    • lkr08

luke walton is our backup sf. if both him and artest got hurt we could always slide kobe at the 3.

      • LakersBabe

Sorry to tell you this but Luke is garbage.

        • johnny10

Obviously but i said it as a worst comes to worst situation. Plus the way artest is playing it might not b a bad idea to start luke

    • http://myspace.com/taeyongpark Day

It would only be adding one more guard into our current rotation. Plus, I see Hinrich and Farmar playing together a lot and Fish needs much less minutes.

    • http://www.myspace.com/guszo gus26

      http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yftwtad

*fisher gets cut and we resign him after 30 days for a playoff run..

      • http://www.myspace.com/guszo gus26

if the bulls did this trade they could sign 2 max players to play with rose, deng, and thomas.. thats a pretty decent core to start a team with.. they could get wade and bosh or amare..

they would be in the same position as the knicks except they have deng instead of curry and thomas instead of chandler.. and as a bonus oh yeah some kid named rose..

      • drive-for-16th

NO WAY THEY WILL GIVE UP JOAKIM NOAH.

      • johnny10

lets not get GREEDY sir; they want expiring contracts, not clean up their roster…

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1460601006&ref=profile OaklandLakers

    Do it…

  • pricecheck

Wow, Adam really is one of the biggest busts in the decade. Why did we get this guy in the first place?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1460601006&ref=profile OaklandLakers

To get rid of space cadet

      • pricecheck

I’m saying wasn’t there anyone else on the team other than adam and brown?

    • LakersBabe

      To get Shannon Brown!

  • TRUWARRIER

Lakers need a true point guard..trade farmar.he cant keep up with good point guards and he always gets torch by deron williams…trade the machine and that cheech and chong extra(ammo)

  • http://lakersnation showtime4eva

jose calderon shoots a higher pct. than kirk averages more asst. for about the same pay and is a true point guard.i think he would be worth taking on that kind of pay.kirks better than what we have.but for the money,he’s not worth it.but because of the dead line.i’d say make the trade.but if they were looking at bosh..i wonder why not calderon..hmmm?shoulda been thinking point guard instead of bosh.

  • http://myspace.com/taeyongpark Day

Stats don’t mean as much as you guys are making them out to be. Kirks stats will shoot through the roof if he was playing on the Lakers. Certain teams offense favor different positions. Kirk plays SG for CHI because of Derick Rose, he’ll be playing his natural (imo) position if he comes here which is PG.

  • Lakersthe2010Champs

Bringing another $9 mil guy to come off from the bench? Guys, you are in a fantasy land. It does not make any financial sense. Besides, Hinrich is shooting a woeful 37% from the field this year, he’s probably shooting worse than Sasha.

Ammo has an expiring contract, which is valueable for the Lakers who look to shed payroll. Sasha has one more year of $5 mil. But Hinrich has $17 mil over next two years plus the remaining of $9.5 mil for this year.

It’s just a bigger name, that’s all. Lakers have nothing to gain with this trade. Shannon Brown is way better a choice for the Lakers.

    • leo

who cares about financial situation….you aint payin for it…….let the buss man handle that shiet….hinrich is upgrade over any guard lakers have except kobe…save fish for the heroics and farmar we aint gonna sign him to a luke or sasha deal……opportunity only comes once…do it mitch and is not like is gonna disrupt our chemistry …hinrich is hardnosed smart defender that can shoot and play point and shooting guard…and shannon > farmar anyways
