winnerYahoo! Sports: Sun Yue hasn’t even finished his bottle of Moët yet and oddsmakers have already released the odds to win the 2009-2010 NBA Championship. (Man, they sure don’t waste any time down there in Vegas. I think they might have a gambling problem.)

Yes, with their dominant 99-86 victory over the Orlando Magic in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, the Los Angeles Lakers became the latest NBA champion and — surprise, surprise — oddsmakers from online sports book Sports.com like them to repeat as champs next year at sound 5/2 odds.

Clearly oddsmakers think coach Phil Jackson will stick around for another year and that Lakers’ ownership will drop enough free agency coin to keep both Lamar Odom and Trevor Ariza in the purple and gold.

After L.A., comes Cleveland and The King at 3/1, Boston and Kevin Garnett’s guarantees at 5/1 and the Eastern Conference champs Orlando at 7/1. The Nuggets round out the top five teams at 12/1, while the Spurs (15/1), Rockets (15/1), Blazers (20/1) and Jazz (20/1) complete your best bets.

Only a fool…and haterz would bet against the Lake Show.

  • What will be…

The Lakers need to add one or two lock down players now to defend their title, Battier, and or Artest would be two players that would fit well with Kobe and Co… A good PG that can play tough D, would be good too…

  • What will be…

I like Linas Kleiza as well, maybe just maybe Jason Kidd…

i still think theyre gonna win next yr hopefully having better shooters and same team

  • lakerfan4ever

I don’t see why not,if we keep the same team we have the same chances to do it,just like the beginning of this season.Think about it,Vujacic didn’t even score a single point and Bynum was a foul machine, expect a better performance(it can’t be any worse, trust me)from both players next year,a rested Kobe and a very confident team and we are back in the Finals…we want Celtics, bring those punks again, nothing will be sweeter that beat them in the Finals…I hope Kobe consider restructuring his contract, just like Tim Duncan did for the Spurs,to free up some money and bring back Odom and Ariza….maybe Brown….but right now,let just enjoy this moment…GO LAKERS!!!

If we ‘didn’t re-sign’ Ariza and/or Odom, how many proven players would be more than happy to join up with the Lakers? Just look for any player in the league, who is happy with his money, and wants a ring. Also, the Lakers are a young team. Whoever would come to the Lakers would stick around for a while, to play w/Kobe, while they get fortune and fame (from being in the #1 basketball marketplace in the world, L.A.), and a few rings along the way.

Of course I want the team to be the same as next year (keeping Lamar and Trevor), but in case either of them decide they want more money, we still have options out there.

I’m thinking that everyone will wait to see what Phil does. I hope he returns too.

In the meantime, — it’s time for a PARADE! Down Figueroa Blvd.
