Quite a young player with a fairly good offensive  game.

Fan House: Tolliver also has been looked at by Atlanta, the Lakers, Chicago, Utah, Minnesota, Charlotte, Dallas and New York. Riley acknowledges the risk of losing Tolliver to another team, rather than having retained the right to match any offer by keeping him restricted, was a chance the Warriors had to take at the time. “It was the 15th spot on the roster, which would have meant we had no flexibility,” Riley said. “That was the big issue. … At the time, that was where our roster was.”

And who are we going to trade for to get CP3? We currently only have 11 signed including the 2 new draft picks. We need to have 13 on the roster by opening day. Most likely a trade for CP3 would need us to send at least 2 guys to the NO Hornets, so how does that make a bench deeper? And what guys would they accept in a trade that would make our bench deeper?

  • 242LakerFan

What the hell is an Anthony Tolliver and why do we want one?

    • Schism

The word on the street is that this Anthony Tolliver is on a list for a possible Lakers destination, which means it will end up elsewhere for more $$.

      • KRILL

lol the league hates when the Lakers “steal” right?XD

        • Edward

The guy whose face and family got demolished by Amare.

  • domidomdomz

He’s a decent role player. Would be a good fit for us with his good outside shooting and rebounding. Though, I personally want Kurt Thomas (proven vet) more than him.

    • 6’9

Kurt thomas is near 40 why the fuck do we want with him?See this why ya’ll aint GM’s because ya’ll would fuck up a team in a heartbeat! And get off the CP3 shit if we gave up bynum that takes away our Length

    • 242LakerFan

We don’t need another 30% 3 point shooter, thank you.

      • k.

        hey fatass shutup

        • del

I prefer tolliver because we need a guy that can bring it in practice and make Andrew better.

    • L.Alaker_show

did u just say bring it in practice and make andrew better how the fuc! does he make drew better???

      • KRILL

cos he is a young center trying to get minutes — and competing for minutes makes him better capische?

        • Dragon

…except he’s not a center, he’s a PF that can rebound and shoot 3s sometimes

          • KRILL

SO wut, that’s Kurt Thomas too, and Tony Battie got signed the other day so he’s out.. you got Tolliver who’s way better offensive wise.. off the bench? SHID Id do dat yo.. yeah with the slim pickings these days.. give me tollivver since nobody else is out there, and shaq aint signing with us realistically

  • Althelakerfanyoushouldmeet

Good on the Boards and knows how to put the ball in the basket. 6’9 243 basically Josh Powell with more Offensive game.

  • Robert.

WOW. All these FAs this summer, and (besides Blake) NOBODY wants to come to the Lakers???
We’re ending up with the scrubs of the league. This is amazing (although, it’s all about $$ for the FAs, and the Lakers just don’t have any left).
Kup has been pulling rabbits out of his hat lately, but it looks like there’s nothing left that makes us go ‘wow, this is great for the Lakers’.
It is also putting more importance on the Blake move.
Personally, I think that the best bargain at this point might be a player with great D. Usually good scorers are more expensive, and a player who displays strong defense will always help. The more of the opposing team that we are able to ‘shut down’, the better chance we have of defeating them.
I’m even thinking we should bring back Mbenga. The one thing that the Lakers have over ‘everyone’ is length. Even the Cell-blockHeads couldn’t get past that. How many times was this brought up during the playoffs?

This is the only memory of Anthony Tolliver I have.

    • 242LakerFan

O CRAP! That was him? He got boned in mid-air! No, keep this guy out of a Laker uni. The one Fish took was bad enough, but this was just sick! That dunk was illegal, immoral and unholy!!!

      • http://www.myspace.com/626bones Lakers 24 7

        Amare OBLITERATED him!

  • http://yahoo jaydubb415

Totally agree with you ”Robert”its almost like players are ”hating”on us bcuzz we went ”back 2 back”+ we don’t have the money either. But steal mitch can make some trades n get some of these free loaders like walton off the team.

  • 242LakerFan

You know, jay, when I do make the excruciating effort to decypher your posts, you generally make sense. If you’d only get over this odd infatuation with quotation marks and concentrate more on the space bar, they’d be so much easier to read.

Im calling JAYDUBB MidwestBOB from now on- ice cream on the house

  • Robert.

This blogging site has become a paragon of Lakers elite commentators. 242 is the Dalai Lama of Lakers/basketball knowledge, and jaydubb is the kwisatz haderach with nuggets of good info embedded in sophisticated hieroglyphics. I always look forward to both your posts.
I think we got it covered now with these ideas presented here, since I have been perpetually confounded by the evolution of the NBA during this FA summer (and compounded by the ‘decision’).
Keep up the good work, guys!

      i lol’d

    • Robert.

I was serious! I respect 242’s opinion, and as an aside, jdubb’s comments are interesting to read (albeit a bit challenging). These are things that make this blog site interesting.

  • Get It 2gether!

Honestly, I don’t know much about this guy. Except, he got destroyed by Amare Stoudemire. I think they might be looking to fill up their bench. If Tolliver wants to come to the Lakers. So be it, he would be competing for playing time. Especially if, the Lakers sign Matt Barnes tomorrow.
