Lakers explore cheap PG options

Fisher is playing a lot of minutes and no doubt we need a backup PG to relieve him of the minutes. Here is an update…

Hoopsworld: Journeyman Dan Dickau and D-Leaguers Eddie Gill and Blake Ahearn are among the point guards the Lakers have inquired about, agent Mark Bartelstein said last week. Ex-Lakers guard Jannero Pargo is another potential option, but he is currently under contract with Russia’s Dynamo Moscow and Bartelstein said nothing is imminent.

There is no point unless we bring in someone who either knows the triangle offense or has a high basketball IQ.

I was reading from other posts and came across the option of bringing back javaris crittenton. now that sounds like a good idea to me. the kid is 6’5 and he’s got the ability to drive and finish or take the jumper. i liked him when he was here but there was no playing time for him and also we needed to give him up for pau gasol. however, he has since been traded to washington and if we can come up with a deal to get him, it would be great. i know we have sun yue, but he just doesnt seem like he will ever fit into the nba game. he never attacks the rim or takes the open shot. its frustrating to see that. sure pargo would probably be the best choice, but it is hard with his contract to moscow, so i am on board for the return of javaris crittenton. he was so highly praised by the lakers, so why not try and strike up a deal for him, we really need a third guard with farmar out and fish playing too many minutes and age.

Good idea. Unless he has signed a big contract I say go for it. I’d rather have crittenton then pargo personally. Why can’t the lakers ever get a guy (other than Farmar) who can beat people off the dribble and score? It seems we only get High I.Q. guys but that are very slow. How about getting someone w/ speed. Just me thinking out loud.
