With the NBA schedule set to be released in the coming days, most NBA fans are clamoring for the headliner opening games on Christmas Day, one of which being the debut of the Mike Brown led Lakers against the Chicago Bulls.

According to Kevin Ding of the OC Register, though, it looks as if Laker fans will be getting a few early Christmas presents. From the OC Register:

The first Lakers game of the 2011-12 season is planned for Dec. 19, an exhibition game at Staples Center against the Clippers. The Lakers will play the Clippers again at Staples in another exhibition on Dec. 20 or 21, in all likelihood.

While still preseason action, the games will be the first action for either club in over seven months. With Mike Brown implementing his new system, and with Clipper Blake Griffin looking to improve off of his rookie season, both games should provide some holiday cheer for starved Laker fans.
