Lakers Artest BasketballLakers Examiner: Yesterday, the Los Angeles Lakers released their official 2009-10 schedule. Now I know what you’re thinking, early August is waaaaay too soon for a season preview.

I beg to differ.

The Lakers have pretty much every piece in place for the upcoming season, so we know what the defending champs will be like. True, there are a few key free agents still out there that could change the makeup of the Lakers’ opponents, but most teams have their nuclei in place already.

So let’s go through the Lakers season, game by game, complete with postgame headlines. I have broken it down into months, and I’ll publish a new one each week. Here we go with the Lakers preview for October/November 2009:

Oct. 27 vs. LA Clippers: Lakers spoil Griffin’s coming out party on opening night

Lakers win. Despite Blake Griffin’s 32 point, 16 rebound performance, the Lakers still handily defeat the L.A. Clippers. Baron Davis breaks his own record for fastest season-ending injury by tearing his hamstring while vying for position on the opening tip.

Wow, preview of the Clippers / Laker game 3 months before it happens?

    Cool.

    • 242LakerFan

Well, he could have waited till after the game, but that would have defeated the purpose, wouldn’t it? LOL

  • 242LakerFan

    Dude, that’s some funny shyt!
    Yoo rites reel good!

  • http://TheLakersNation.info Billy Kupchak

13-3 but ALL 3 losses are against teams that the Lakers shouldn’t lose against.

    im cool

  • BostonSmeldicks

its better for the lakers to lose some games to much much weaker and scrappier teams than playoff heavyweights. i wouldnt mind us losing to weak eastern conference teams than to lose against boston cleveland orland detroit. same as with the west. i dont care if we lose some games to weak weak teams. i mean if we can choose which teams we would lose something like 5-8 games overall it’d better be the weaker teams than heavyweight playoff contenders in the west and east. got my point?

    • 242LakerFan

No, I’m sick of the Lakers losing to crap teams. These are teams we should stomp on a regular basis. We could have won 70 games last year except for lackluster efforts against teams like Charlotte and total brain farts that cost us last second losses to Philly and Indiana. No excuse for that from an elite team. We just get lazy and I want to see a team like the 80′s Showtime Lakers that walks onto the other guys floor and you see fear and defeat in the other guys’ eyes. I want a team that steps on your neck when you’re down and blows you out by 25-30. I want a team that grabs the other guy by the Spaldings and squeezes till he’s a quivering lump in a green jersey lying at half court while Kobe’s finishing off a forty point night with a 720 slam! I want heads, dammit! Heads!
      (A little much, you think?)

First of all, Jamie Quintanilla didn’t even write this article, as you can see it was posted here.. but it linked to lakersexaminer. Second of all, I can’t believe you thought he was serious. What, you thought the thing about T-Mac accepting the loss was his fault was serious? Get a sense of humor. And ALL CAPS REALLY GETS YOUR POINT ACROSS BETTER, DOESN’T IT?

Have you ever read the lakers examiner articles? They are suppose to be funny. It’s a joke. How are you so dense that you think it’s a legit preview and prediction? The guy that writes it, knows his lakers, and knows his basketball. And he uses it to write funny articles. Colin is hilarious. He is not trying to be taken seriously. So get a damn sense of humor!

    • 242LakerFan

      A. The article wasn’t a product of this website
      B. You can’t expect to be taken seriously when you use words like “tooken”
