Warriors are in the race. The L.A. Times reports they have a few options in terms of offers they are offering. This should be interesting from here on out. Let the KG race begin.

L.A. Times: Garnett in Oakland is an even worse nightmare for the Lakers. The Suns were already above them. With KG, the Warriors would be too.

The Warriors jumped in with both feet on draft day, trading popular Jason Richardson to Charlotte for young Brandan Wright, whom they hadn’t even worked out.

With Minnesota seeking prospects, the Warriors are now offering Wright, Monta Ellis and Patrick O’Bryant.

Minnesota is asking for Andris Biedrins. Golden State is offering Al Harrington instead and may also insist that Garnett waive his $6.5-million trade kicker, so it’s not done yet.

• DeepFrost

uh-oh… this doesn’t sound good…

• http://ld2k.com LD2k

Mitch will step in, for sure.

It’s funny how McHale has ONLY publically said the Lakers have a package of little interest to Minnesota… hmmmm…

• DeepFrost

what do u mean LD2k? explain pls…)

• http://ld2k.com LD2k

Also, looking at those trade offers – do they work under the CBA?

• Rpoc

It’s getting annoying more competitors are stepping in.

McHale is annoying too. Bynum was the general consensus 3rd overall pick for this draft. Odom was worth Marion and fillers. Then there’s Bird waiting in the wings for us to bend over to that trade of his. Damn Celtic guys.

• lakersforlife77

they just traded away richardson who was a major piece of their team. Do they really think they can win a championship with garnett and baron davis? I don’t think Garnett can win a championship while being the number 1 player on a team, he already failed at it once. And that totally messes up their playing style bringing in garnett imo. It just doesn’t make sense to me :\

• Rpoc
Also, looking at those trade offers – do they work under the CBA?
Wouldn’t.

• http://ld2k.com LD2k

Yeah I’m not so sure they would Rpoc.

Interesting…

• Rpoc

They would need another team involved to fill all of the wolves wants. If they somehow do that, they could use that large exception of theirs to take in some bad contracts in a separate deal.

• lakersforlife77

And also I’ll leave you with this:

Kevin Garnett: $21 million

Monta Ellis: $664,000

Patrick O’Bryant: $2,061,000

Brandan Wright: He’s a rookie so the number is not going to be that big, my guess would be the 2 to 3 mil range

Al Harrington: $ 7,625,000 or Andris Biedrins: $ 1,986,00

Do those numbers look like they match up? No, and I know you’re thinking, trade exception(10 mil i think) but it doesn’t work like that where you can just tack 10 mil off, and if they use that they’d have to wait 60 days, which would be the busiest 60 days of Mitch Kupchak’s life.

So then what would Golden State’s starting line-up look like afterwards:

PG- Baron Davis
SG- Stephen Jackson
SF- Mickael Pietrus
PF- Kevin Garnett/ Al Harrington
C- Andris Biedrins

How does that even get you to the Western Conference finals. Now if they still had Jason Richardson it would be a different story. It just doesn’t look like Garnett would fit into their system.

A KG/KB combo is a lot scarier than a KG/B-Diddy combo. End of story. Golden State isn’t in the same situation as us so they shouldn’t be making a desperation move like this.

• ryguy2303

Relax fellas, KG is ours. just wait and see

• http://ld2k.com LD2k

Looks like we’re going to need a third team as well more than likely.

At least talks are getting serious. I don’t want this to drag on.

I want to get KG, have Coby Karl tear it up in the SPL, then have Kobe bring us home a gold medal ;)

• Rpoc

I’m seriously hope we pull this ish off. I wouldn’t want any of the potential KG suitors listed in Stein’s report to land him.

Phoenix: Obvious
Warriors: Division rivals
Boston: Obvious
Dallas: Can’t stand them
Chicago: Peeved

• Lakers305

Fellas look, We had the best chance to get KG before the draft than we do now. We dont have attractive assets that the WOlves would want. And Mchale doenst think highly of Bynum.

And this whole thing is mostly on KG, if he really wanted to come to LA, he would have come a long time ago. And Lakers would have been his #1 choice. Golden State has a lot more attractive talent then we do. If Golden State had KG instead of Biedrins in Last Year’s playoff, they would have gotten to the finals.

• kb24

hope KG doesnt waive his kicker..

• kb24
• showtime88

Listen..i know that we ALL want kg….but I am getting a funny feeling with trading Bynum..

i think we will see a MUCH improved Bynum this coming year..seriously..i mean even someone who may be in the 15-17 ppg average and 10 rebound average a game…

i dont know..i would HATE to trade the kid away and him b/c the next wilt or something….

• kb24

bynum.. or kg.. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME??

• LAKobe4Life

The Lakers are offering Lamar Odom, Andrew Bynum and Kwame Brown, how can the Warriors beat that offer?

• http://ld2k.com LD2k
Also, looking at those trade offers – do they work under the CBA?
I was right, look at what Larry Coon had to say about the article:

“To the best of my understanding, GS-Charlotte was supposed to be part of a larger deal to move KG, but that deal fell apart. Afterward, GS & Charlotte decided they still liked that leg of the deal, so they went ahead and made that trade. But by doing so, it pretty much closed the door on GS getting KG.

Heisler’s still trying to put stuff together because he doesn’t understand that, and doesn’t understand the CBA implications enough to realize the door is closed. The stuff he’s proposing is completely unrealistic.

Would GS love to have KG? Yes. Is it still technically feasible that they could put something together? You’d really, really have to stretch it. I think that door closed on draft night.”

• kb24

ld2k is the best

• lakerfan81

Ld2k is quite right. But it is still possible for GS to make a move for Garnett but it could not occur until Dec. 15. Thats assuming they use their trade exception to pick up players Minnesota wants. Makes a deal difficult though. If they do not use their trade exception they would have to trade Baron davis, or half their roster.

• kb24

yea baron is the only one on that team that makes more then ten mill a year.

• mitch__Kupchak

GS is done. all we have to do is find a third team in the east with enough young talent minnesota will take and our looking to win now with bynum and lamar in the east. lakers will be the best one again.

• Newtdog

One crucial thing we need to keep in mind….Does Garnett wanna go to GS. I mean, he wants to go to a team that will have a legitimate shot at a championship. And theres no way GS will take him without signing an extension. So, I feel that the lakers still have the best shot. Keep the faith people, It’s hard for me believe that the Lakers organization would not be doing everything in their power to land KG and keep KB happy. It’s all gonna be good by the time next season rolls around. I got a feeling.

• RC

Yes, but it will take the entire offseason to await the moves to come. And if you look at the recent history, you newtDOG should not have any confidence that the Lakers front office is going to do anything good. I mean, what will happen:

1. They will re-sign Luke “SOFT” Walton and OVERPAY him (he is a bench player at BEST), the lakers front office will throw a parade when they re-sign him, big deal, luke is soft and weak.
2. They signed Vlade snowboard last year over Tim Thomas who CHEWED us up in the playoffs, real smart kupcake!!!!!!
3. They trade butler (all star to be) for Kwame SOFT HANDS Brown.
4. They pass on Artest, B. Davis, Boozer, and J. Kidd, and newtDOG you still have confidence.

Wake up newtDOG!!!!!

• Laker4LIFE

This trade is BS. It doesnt even work Salary wise!!!! Go Lakers

how about this. Indiana still has that offer on the table. Why not try this. The extra money can be from anybody, i just chose smush and aaron as they are least useful and we could do a sign and trade.

The problem with that is that Minnesota wants young talent and/or expiring k’s to rebuild. Trading Garnett for Jermaine Oneal doesn’t help them very much and it’s basically like downgrading their team.

• punkjones

Good friggin’ luck to GS. Or rather bad luck. I don’t see why in a million years KG would want to come to a loser Don Nelson team. I know they beat the Mavs, that was fun, I was happy about it, but really now. If he accepts going there and doesn’t put his foot down for the Lakers he gets what he deserves. I don’t see this happening. If it does I’ll be wrong but … why would this go down? GS? No.

• RC

KG will veto that deal, NEXT per KG!!!!!

• Newtdog

Ya RC…it’s just a huge consipiracy of the lakers organization to build a shitty team and to not land any good players. You need to grow up. Trades in the NBA are very hard to make, and all parties have to aggree on everything. It’s not that their not trying, this stuff takes time. Oh and RC your a dick man, I see how you talk on here and you are obviously not a laker fan, so why don’t you go jump on the phoenix or dallas bandwagon, you peice of shit. Get outta here noone like you.

Laker fans, KG will not come to the Lakers. Listen to this, the lakers just signed Coby Karl (son of George Karl, Nuggets coach) to a free agent contract.

Now that is a mistake waiting to happen. As soon as cancer Coby Karl gets lonely, he will call his father and give away all of the Lakers secrets, and the Nuggets will end up beating the Lakers in the regular season or the playoffs. The Lakers front office are the most stupid idiots (I agree Kobe) in the NBA. Hire George Karl’s little spy, his son, STUPID, STUPID, STUPID.

And you KG fans think KG is coming to the lakers, not with this lakers front office, wishful thinking, PAY ATTENTION, they are idiots (and Kobe said it)!!!!!

• GSWfanInLA

You guys really think that Odom and Bynum are of any interest to the Wolves for KG. Odom is an unselfish yet very inconcistant player plagued by injuries and Bynum is just big. He has some skills but has a lot of improving to do. He might turn out to be a bust like fellow Laker Kwame for all we know. Don’t forget Kwame was the number one draft pick a few years ago. The Warriors on the other hand do make sense. First off, KG has stated publicly that he wants to play with a Great Point Guard like Baron and says that the Warriors are one of the teams he would like to play for. Another thing is that the Warriors have a 10 mil trade exception that they can use in a two trade deal with the Wolves. Trade O’Bryant, Foyle, and Jasikevicius for KG and then use the 10 mil TE and Ellis (who the Wolves really want) for Jaric. It makes sense and the numbers add up. The Warriors would look like:

PG : BD
SG : Pietrus (resigned)
SF : Jackson
PF : KG
C : Biedrins

Which means no Playoffs for the SORRY LAKERS!!!! Top three are set The Warriors will take the 4 Houston 5 Utah 6 Denver 7 and Portland 8.

The Lakers do not have the TALENT nor the SALARY to get a player like KG. STOP DREAMING!!!!!!
