I doubt the Clippers would do anything to help the Lakers out, but it would be nice of them if they did. :) Interesting…

RealGM.com: Although highly unlikely due to the fact they share the same city, a deal that would send Maggette across the hall to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Kwame Brown would appear to make the most sense. Of course, under the NBA’s trade rules, small parts like Will Conroy would have to be included to make the salaries match. But Brown would be a short term fix for the Clippers since he is in the final year of his contract, and would pair with Kaman as a very young exciting frontcourt tandem. For the Lakers, they would insert the talented small forward into the starting lineup between Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom while freeing up minutes in the paint for the emerging Andrew Bynum.

Is anybody else irked about the “freeing up minutes” for Socks? Hello, he had the opportunity for any and all the minutes he needed, had he just owned it.

  • kb24 4life

i think this deal works for us but not for the clippers , maybe if we put farmar in the deal
    clippers may consider this..

  • jason kidd is the answere

o ya that will really make kobe stay
    hahahaha

  • kb24 4life

if its sarcasm no it will not make kobe stay but it will help the lakers to get better because kwame really can help the clippers because of the injury of elton brand but he doesn’t help the lakers missing layups

  • kb24 4life

i mean look at this lineup

    fisher/crittenton
    kobe/mo
    maggette/walton
    lamar/turiaf
    mihm/bynum

this is better than last year

  • http://www.bball.hu tomee

Kwame Farmar for Maggette Aaron Williams (salaries match)?

  • STEVENASMITHFAN

  • lakerfan81

????? What an aweful trade for the Clippers. I know traditionally they are a horrible team but come on.

  • Lakernut

How would Kaman and Kwame be an exiting tandem??????Who writes this garbage!

  • TonyStarks79

Hahahha..Anything to get rid of Kwame.

  • Michael_23

Clippers just made a dumb move signing PG B. Knight. Maybe they can make another dumb move trading Maggette for K. Brown.

It felt like they would sign any point guard.

    LoL.

  • Noriega7333

Oh yeah, go for this trade. But I doubt it will happen, unless they want to get under the caps, but 9 mil isn’t that much.

  • STEVENASMITHFAN

This is not going to happen, read the FIRST line of the article:

“Although highly unlikely due to the fact they share the same city…”

  • Michael_23

It’s interesting to see what Clipper players are thinking. Elton Brand is gone for half the season. Therefore would players like Corey Maggette and Sam Cassel thinking if they want out? Clippers have a very very slim chance of making playoffs now.

I’d take Chris Mihm’s game over Chris Kaman’s best game any day. I like Mihm’s attitude when he was resigned saying he’ll not only work out to be as good as he was 2 season’s ago, but even better.

Sorry Clipper fans, this is another losing season for ya’ll …

Things that might make sense usually don’t tend to happen…

this is not going to happen becuase it is a STUPID TRADE. who in their right mind would trade maggette for Brown.

  • circusmonkey

This would almost redeem the Kwame for Caron Butler trade.

  • junjun

This Wong happen , Clippers are not that stupid.

  • wasay

this would never happen the clipps didnt want to trade maggete for artest or peja what makes you seem that they would want to do this but if this happened we could trade odom farmar amd cook for JO
    -derek fisher
    -kobe bryant
    -corry maggete
    -jermaine oneal
    -andrew bynum

  • somelakerfan1

i aggree but mitch traded caron for kwame

that trade to the clippers will be the same mistake the lakers made when they traded away caron for kwame

  • http://www.getgarnett.com Fred A.

I like this, but Maggette has no size and thats a big ? mark.

  • lakerfan81

I don’t think that Maggette would do well in the triange. Besides that LA doesn’t need any more players that do not play defense they already have enough of them. But if the Clippers were reall dumb enough to do such a trade why not use Maggette to get someone else. SO speaking of dumb trade ideas that will not work heres one.

Clippers trade Maggette to Indiana and Paul Davis to the Lakers.
Lakers send Brown, Critt, Bynum, Vlad and Sasha to Indiana
Indiana trades O’neil to the lakers and Murphy to the Clippers.

Won’t ever happen but its not any dumber than tading Brown for Maggette, and it makes alot more sense for the Lakers.

I realy doubt that this trade will go thru, but if it so happens it will give the Lakers a little more leverage when it comes to making trade’s happen because now you can throw Maggette in the trade talks. On the other hand i would not mind keeping the same roster. With the addition of Fisher and Maggette it will be very interesting to see how they all blend together and see what kind of chemistry they have on the court.I for one want to see what baby(Bynum)brings to the table next season cause it seams to me that the Lakers FO has been very reluctant when it comes to trading him.If by next season he still cant provide us with a decent scoring center (and i mean at least a 16 point average per game) cause we realy should not be settleling for less.I mean this will be his fourth season and he does’nt exactly fit into the rookie category no more, so if he cant improve dramaticly then Lakers should go ahead and trade him by next season’s deadline and go after someone who can provide some scoring other than KOBE…
