This is pretty awesome news. He’ll be the “grandpa” of the team (sort of like Kidd) – but I’m sure all the young guns will be locked and loaded – especially since they will bring home the Gold Medal soon! Here is what KB10 said…

Yahoo: The Olympics have been such a renaissance to his career, Bryant insists that he wants to play as a 34-year-old in 2012 in London.

“If they want me back, I’ll be back,” he said.

Kobe will be just as good by then, he’ll be a OG BALLER, seen and done things that the young ones aint never seen before

I’m sure he’ll still be best or 2nd best players in the NBA at 34 =).

if jason kidd can do it at age 35, kobe can do it at age 34; he’s bigger (bigger players tend to last longer cuz they’re like bigger brick walls that can take more hits , kareem for example) and he’s got more talent especially shown in titles at an age five years younger and a stronger passion so he’ll fade out slower or fade out to still be on a higher level, and jason kidd was a starter.

Also, another shooting guard, Michael Jordan, dropped 28.7 points on his last bulls team at age 35, that’s pretty good, and althought he wasn’t selected for the olympics for some reason at age 33, around kobe’s next olympic age, he was very potent. And another guy, hakeem olajuwon, who was 33 for those 1996 olypics jordan wasn’t selected for, did well and got a gold medal, so kobe will do fine at age 34.
