Kobe did the right thing by accepting the comments without retaliation.

ESPN: “[Jackson] was right, I totally broke the offense, but I did it intentionally because I felt like we needed to get something started because what we were doing just wasn’t working,” Bryant said. “So, I tried to kick start it and sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t but that’s my responsibility. When it works out? Great. When it doesn’t? I’ll take the criticism for it, but I have thick enough skin to be able to do that. … You just have to take the good with the bad. That’s part of my job in the seat that I sit.

“I was trying to win the damn game. We were playing like [expletive], we all were, so I was just trying to get something going, trying to pump a little energy to us and it just didn’t work out. But Phil doesn’t really care how many shots I take, he just wants me to take them inside of the offense. [Sunday] was one of those days where I was like, ‘[Expletive] the triangle, I need to get myself going and try to save this damn game,’ and it just didn’t work out.”

“Fuck the Triangle” lmao, Kobe’s a boss, son.

It should be “We win as a team and we fail as a team” not “I” and “Me”. This is not the way to the Glory Stage. They are UNSTOPPABLE when they play team ball. I am the biggest Kobe fan, but sometimes you gotta look at the big picture as such. It’s not solely his responsibility to win ball games.

I get the fact that he is the leader and the guy who eats first at the table but he is smart enough to know that when NO ONE can stop the front court, you gotta feed them too. There’s plenty of blame to go around here, not just from the Mamba.

In an ideal, Pollyanna type world, you’d be 100% correct, except that, as he said, “We” wasn’t working. “We” wasn’t getting shit-all done. It’s fine to say “Win as a team, lose as a team” but most teams don’t have an “I” capable of winning as an “I”. “We” do. There have been times when “We” were losing as a team and “I” stepped in and said “Fuck the triangle, I’m taking over” and the result was that “We” won.
There is no “I” in team, but there is one right smack-dab in the middle of “WIN”.

        Well said

Well said . How ever he cant just take it upon himself to change the game plan . If thats his feelings why is there 4
other players ? Also Phil blames him , but when a time outs is needed. He never calls one.
This is a recipe for diaster.
This crap dosent happen in Boston,SanAntonio only L A
Miami is watching us saying that team is self destructing

Would you continue firing your pistol into the body of the zombie that is about to eat your brains because that was the original game plan? No. You reach behind you, grab the machete strapped to your back and try to plant it in its medulla oblongata. End of scene.
Pistol = game plan that hasn’t been working all night.
Zombie = crappy team beating you on your home court.
      Machete = Kobe Bryant.

ahhhh, but the subject making that decision is YOU . . . and YOU = PJ

Damn I love Kobe… Who else would say that shit? Watching the games I think time has caught up with Kobe. With him not getting his finger and knee surgeries done on time and continuing playing with wreck less abandon he is facilitating the end of his career prematurely. Whatever happens this year I’m with Kobe for what he has given us. He could have prolonged his carer by ending seasons early and getting the surgery’s he needed and not win championships like so many other players do in this league. This is what makes Kobe a true champion…

I noticed also that Kobe hasn’t been the same. I also feel that maybe time has caught up to him. Either way he’s still the main guy in the league. Props to all the things he has done too with those injuries.

Hopefully we are wrong and he’s just not 100% yet from the last surgery! But he’s well rounded to still be effective anyways.
