Kobe responds to Buss situation

kobecamp.jpgLets all take a collective breath of fresh air. Breathe in, breathe out. Repeat 5 times.

Yahoo: The 29-year-old Bryant is about to begin his 12th NBA season — all with the Lakers.

“Dr. Buss’s comments today provided more insight to a conversation we shared in Barcelona earlier this summer,” Bryant said in a statement issued Thursday. “I have touched on this conversation and other conversations within the Lakers’ organization during the recent months and again at the Lakers’ media day. I have nothing further to add and look forward to the upcoming season with my teammates.”

    good riddence

  • ab4sure

no need to comment…..that means he agrees with everything Jerry Buss Says…lets play ball…lets play as a TEAM…let us not play as a one man show…

I am sure Buss let kobe know about this interview….HELL YOU HAVE TO RESPECT AN OWNER THAT GIVES HIS STAR PLAYER THE DETAILS ON POSSIBLE TRADES.

  • lakerschamps08

ummm yea he dont wanna say anything stupid so kobe keeping his mouth shut… smart by kobe…

  • http://hzmdesigns.com hZm

He didn’t give into the media hype about this.

Still, Buss going out and saying something like that… seems pretty obvious that Kobe is on his way out.

  • fatty

Kobe showed some class and is trying to diffuse the situation. I agree, Dr. Buss informed Kobe about this ahead of time, so as not to make too big of a media event.

  • alvin

why did buss have to say anything? he’s going to go down in history as the guy who traded kobe and shaq. this is getting pathetic.

  • TheLAunit

Kobe is done with this lakers version of “All My Children” Staring The Organization and is just ready to focus on Basketball, but They need to stop bringing up things from the past and think future!!!!

  • Choco

You know what?, breathing in and out 5 times really helps.

  • PHANTOM

    ab4sure,

i think your by yourself about respecting buss…

  • JBMONKEYMAN

I respect Buss but not his decision to go public at this time.

  • BEC

The idea that Kobe can leave the Lakers should be no surprise to anyone. A player who doesnt want to be with a team usually always gets traded sooner or later. The fact that buss publicly came out to say that Kobe is untouchable, doesnt by any means imply that Kobe is on his way out. All that means is nothing has changed since this summer and that Kobe is still frustrated with this situation.
Kobe will stay if the Lakers put together a team that can compete at a high level, championship level. Im well aware that Kobe has said that he has lost all trust with anyone in the front office and I dont really know his stance on that, but what I do know is that Kobe wants to win. If the Lakers surround Kobe with the talent to win a title, im sure any trust will be returned and nothing in the past will matter. But the only thing thats going to keep Kobe on this Lakers, is a Laker team that can win at a high level, we just have to see if that can happen within the next two years.

  • fatty

Add to that, If Kobe and the Lakers play well, his stock will only rise if he decides to go in two years. Just like Buss said, he’s a pro all the way.

  • Michael_23

Look at Vince Carter and Allen Iverson. These were 2 superstars that wanted to be traded. Took their FO about 1 or 2 seasons to realize that they should let them go.

    Kobe’s next?

  • KLMonster

BEC, I totally agree with you…

Good that Kobe did not comment further on this matter and just looked forward to the coming season…

  • two0one7

Nice response from Kobe. This whole thing was more media driven than anything. Bad timing on Buss’s part but it wasn’t anything people didn’t already know. It’s time to just focus on the season.

  • nyla

That breathe in breathe out stuff made me think I was about to read that Kobe was pissed and was gonna sit out the season.

  • Michael

The Lakers are getting killed tonight on their own play. I think this new offense of running is biting the Lakers a bit. Maybe they are showing they don’t need Jason Kidd hahaha.

btw, I’m tired of seeing Cook become a liability for the Lakers these first 2 games. He’s totally rushing his shots and trying to show a post up game which he doesn’t have.

  • JBMONKEYMAN

B Cook is the absolute worst player on the team period.

  • Michael_23

Golden State looks like a scary team. Too soon to tell, but it seems like they can be better than an 8th seed team.

  • T-Dub

You people are in la-la land if you think we have a good team. Besides Kobe and Lamar, we dont have one player who can or has started on another team. After this Buss statement, its over. Trade Kobe so he can win elsewhere and i’ll root for that team. Welcome back to the dark ages of the early 90′s but it will last longer this time. and lower those ticket prices!

    I don’t think so.

  • ab4sure

The more I think about why the more I conclude that Buss wanted to do this because he needed to make a statement regarding the situation as a whole. He only made brief comments and although we knew Kobe wanted out we didn’t know if Mgmt. was trying to grant Kobe’s wishes. Also, he lets GM’s around the league know he is open to trades but will not settle for pennies on the dollar.

  • foxxy

RIDING WITH KOBE ALL THE WAY…WHATEVER HAPPENS!!! MEANWHILE, LET THE TEAM BE FOCUSED ON TODAY…PLAYING THEIR BEST BASKETBALL …PERIOD!!!
JUST WHEN WE THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE TO WATCH B-BALL AGAIN!!!

  • PHANTOM

I just hope Kobe doesn’t exert himself to much and gets injured. he needs to become the facilitaor and stop driving to the hoop, play about 30 minutes a game. so when he does opt out after next year he’ll still have some gas in the tank to dominate. i would love to see him win a couple of more titles before he is done. imagine him going to the bulls for the mid level!!! if they can keep that core together and score kobe that would be the most exciting team to watch. we all know the lakers still dont play defense and will be one and out again so please kobe keep something in the tank when you become a bull!!!

I see your a kobe fan and not necessarily a laker fan. Your posts make sense now.

Its amazing who we identify as laker fans, are you a fan of the lakers if you support Kobe, are you a fan of the lakers if you support management, pershaps you are a true fan of the lakers because you support Shaq and thought letting him go was the worst decision ever. What ever your claim to being a fan of the lakers via kobe supporter or Buss family supporter… reality is as much as we love the game and our team, the truth is at the end of the day it’s a business.

As for me I will continue to support the Lakers, and Kobe…even if the possiblilty Kobe is gone (God forbid)…Do I want to see management put together a winner Hell ya… but for some reason (money)… they feel they have…so far they’ve been wrong about that for the last 3 years…

  • PHANTOM

    ab4sure,

i would love to be both a laker fan and a kobe fan… Lakers FO is making that impossible!
