Smush Parker who played with the Lakers for two seasons (05-06, 06-07), made news yesterday at Lakers practice when Kobe Bryant decided to reference him when answering a reporters question.

The question was regarding Derek Fisher’s clutch performance in Sunday night’s game against the Blazers. Bryant was asked if he missed Fisher’s heroics, when Fisher played for the Golden State Warriors and Utah Jazz between 2004 and 2007.

“You mean when I was throwing it to Smush [Parker]?” Bryant said. “Yeah, I shot with three [expletive] on me. Now I only shoot with one, maybe two [defenders because Fisher is accounted for].”

In a 2009 interview, with MSG, Parker said playing for the Lakers was “overrated,” and said any problems he had with the team started and ended with Kobe Bryant.

Parker played in every regular season game the two seasons he played for the Lakers. Parker averaged 11.3 points, 3.3 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, while playing with the Lakers.
