Smush Parker who played with the Lakers for two seasons (05-06, 06-07), made news yesterday at Lakers practice when Kobe Bryant decided to reference him when answering a reporters question.

The question was regarding Derek Fisher’s clutch performance in Sunday night’s game against the Blazers. Bryant was asked if he missed Fisher’s heroics, when Fisher played for the Golden State Warriors and Utah Jazz between 2004 and 2007.

“You mean when I was throwing it to Smush [Parker]?” Bryant said. “Yeah, I shot with three [expletive] on me. Now I only shoot with one, maybe two [defenders because Fisher is accounted for].”

In a 2009 interview, with MSG, Parker said playing for the Lakers was “overrated,” and said any problems he had with the team started and ended with Kobe Bryant.

Parker played in every regular season game the two seasons he played for the Lakers. Parker averaged 11.3 points, 3.3 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, while playing with the Lakers.

Haha lmao payback is a bitch, smush got smushed!

Parker can suck it. He was on Kobe’s team, he had to play by KOBE’S rules.

its crazy how kobe played with 2 of the worst players in the nba at their positions for that much time…and they were in the starting rotation!

    Kwame Brown….

and smush parker who is out of the league now

it pisses me off we had to rebuild during some of kobe’s best years but thats how it had to be done since we weren’t gonna give shaq a long term deal (see how that worked out for miami after winning 1 ring)
and the lakers are on 2 going on 3…worked out well

I believe Luke Walton was our starting SF for some time, also…and Kobe still lead the Lakers to a winning season, and pushed the Suns to 7 games in the first round.

Hate to break it to you, but Smush was a far better player than Fisher ever was. Fisher is much more mentally tough, more clutch, and maybe a better 3 point shooter, but Smush had way more game. Fisher is a horrible defender, and cannot run a fast break nor create for his teammates. I actually think Fisher may be the worst starting point guard in the league. Compare the stats between Fisher, Smush, and the rest of the starting point guards.

…but i still got love for Fish, just don’t think he should be a starter.

    • Nick’s Lame

Don’t forget game three in boston last year, Fisher’s play got us back home court.

      • PearlPeter

And he’s won more championships as a point guard in resent history in the NBA!

    • Jordan

I’ve got to disagree. Fish is arguably the best player in the league when it comes to drawing charges (creating turnovers), while at the same time he rarely turns the ball over himself. He’s not afraid to drive it in, at when he gets fouled he makes his free throws.
I will agree with you that Fish would probably not win a game of 1 on 1 against any other PG in the league, but he doesn’t need to (that’s what Kobe, Lamar, Pau, and Drew are for). Just because he doesn’t have the flashyness of Black Griffin doesn’t mean he’s not a good player.

WOW!……Bootyjuice is on that Charlie Sheen.

        • ignard

          By the way, no Smush=WINNING!

    • LakerMarc

Bootyjuice…first off STUPID FUCKING NAME….I feel like a giant douche just for typing that shit and second of all….you’re on crack ..yeah..but you still got love for FISH…YOU’VE JUST JOINED THE RANKS ALONG WITH NICK…..think about that!

Smush may be more physically talented than Fisher but he didn’t give a damn about practice or playing as a team. He played with no heart. Fisher is consistent and clutch. He’s a leader. He’s mentally and physically tough.

I like fisher but the only thing I would change about fisher is that he cannot make a layup to save his life. When he makes one it’s news. Even stu lantz is mistified. We have the only point guard that CANNOT take someone to the hole. In fact he cannot break anyone down including centers. I’ve seen occasions that a center will switch and play defense on fisher but fisher will rather pass the ball around the 3 point line instead of taking the guy to the hole.

    • LakerMarc

well recently..the same disease seems to plague Matt Barnes…he can’t finish.

  • Laker Warrior

fisher is a great player. Kobe thinks Fish is bad ass so if 24 says it roll with it

  • Sr.Advisor

    Who’s smush?

  • paul carpanini

Derek Fisher saved our asses last year with his effort in game 3 against the Celtics. He showed a lot of heart and courage going to the basket with 3 Celtics trying to take him out before he got there and still making the basket. After we won that game I knew we were going to win the series whether it was in 5,6 or 7 games.

  • paul carpanini

Paul Pierce would look good in a Laker uniform but I don`t know if that will ever happen, too bad.

    • boma357

Haha, he grew up in Compton, CA. I think he’s been dying to be a Lakers before. Don’t get me wrong, he has talents. Just way too much talent at getting all drama shit when drawing fouls. Seems to me that Doc’s been training all them Celtics players to get an Oscar Award for “best acting” at drawing fouls. LMAO!

Smush Parker is a cocky, lazy, punk beotch!  Who over-sleeps and misses the flight to a game???  He suck monkey nutz in the NBA.

If you haven’t checked out the link to his picture below you should!!! He looks like about 10 lbs of monkey sh@t stuffed in a 5 lb bag!!!
He played 1 year at Fordham and was OK at best.
