Kobe wants the title badly… but just how badly?

O.C. Register:  “Beyond your comprehension,” he says. “I’m obsessed. It keeps me awake at night.” And Bryant believes this team can accomplish the task.

No Celtics or Cavs will stand in their way this time because, the Lakers, like the Celtics last season, have those “hungry veterans.”

    first :P

It’s funny how Charles Barkely is the poster boy for making comments or pointing fingers but of course we should be so reliable on his extensive esperience on winning titles. Now if we were talking about DUI’s and bar room brawls then I would listen. Give me a break!

  • LAKing

If I were to go into battle, I would rather have Kobe at my side than the other way around. Nobody would want to face an angry, hungry and motivated Kobe Bryant in the NBA Finals… Nobody.

Just so we’re clear. Who else on that team, other than Kobe and Fish, is a veteran? Please elaborate on this!

Kobe remains one of the most lethal juggernauts on the court. He has bailed us out, time after time when all else has failed. He accepts the most difficult defensive assignments with glee. He relishes in dire circumstances, confident that there is no way that he will be denied from winning the game, whether it’s by him scoring or passing to a wide-open teammate by drawing the double-team.

so obvious that paul pierce is better than kobe. he’ll never win a championship anymore. not without shaq quit whining kobe. haha. paul pierce ftw

  • 7r@cy

^Neither will Paul. Kobe won a ring win ONE HOFer, but Peirce needed TWO. Paul won his first and last ring last year, while Kobe can win plenty more, starting this year. And Paul ain’t NOTHING without KG and Ray.

im as big a laker fan as any, but i get sick of hearing how kobe takes the toughest defensive assignment…He is a good defender, but quit acting like hes the DPOY…he guards the biggest scrub on every team, holy sh!t if i was guarding freakn daunte jones, anthony carter, i can get some blocks too…kobe is the man, but be a laker fan 1st not a kobe fan 1st, and quit acting like hes something hes not

LOL that’s very bold of you to say that. Dude you don’t even HEAR a whisper of Paul Pierce being in the race for MVP or being the best player in the game today. Commentators each game talk about Kobe being the best. I’d rather say Lebron James is better than Kobe, not Paul Pierce; not that Lebron is better anyway.

Kobe, I want you to turn your obsession into something amazing in the NBA playoffs.

Kobe will not disappoint! After losing last season to Boston, I don’t think Kobe will let up for the 2nd season in a row. He has another opportunity this year to go all the way and I don’t think he is going to let the team lose. If he doesn’t win this year, he won’t live it down. The team is in great shape and has a great opportunity to defeat anyone who stands in their way. I don’t think Kobe or Phil is going to give up this season. They will regain focus and play with passion for at least 16 games until the FINAL buzzer sounds! It really is championship or bust this season and I don’t think Kobe or Phil will let the team lose this season. Kobe has to win at least one more championship and he has to win it as the team’s best player and first option. Forget all the other individual accolades, I think this season Kobe and the Lakers will take it all!

Almost the entire team is back for another playoff run. That means they are a veteran team, dumba$$. You don’t have to be an old fart to be a verteran.
