Kobe Bryant was at the London School of Basketball this summer, and was asked, “Who would normally win between you and LeBron one-on-one.”

Being the competitor he is, he didn’t have to think twice…

for laffs….. Charles Barkley say’s this about le bra. On LeBron talking about race being an issue in the criticism he’s received:

“It’s like watching a movie. Just when you think it couldn’t get any stupider, it gets more stupid.”

On LeBron continuing to make bad decisions:

“Howard I’m telling you. Sometimes you just say he’s making bad decisions and you’re like okay, he’s gonna get it together. Then he makes more bad decisions. The thing that’s interesting about LeBron, I don’t think Magic, Michael, and myself, we said we wouldn’t have did it. That’s not a criticism. We were asked a question. I don’t want to play with Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, or Michael, I want to beat them. That’s strictly basketball. The only criticism I’ve heard about LeBron and it was my biggest criticism, that decision thing was just stupid. It was stupid. The second thing when they all came out there dancing around on stage, that was silly. That’s the only thing I’ve heard LeBron get criticized about. That has nothing to do with race. That’s what makes this last thing so stupid. That’s stupid. The only criticism of LeBron has been the decision and the one hour of our life that we can’t have back. And ESPN, oh my God. Oh my God. To go down to training camp and report everyday is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever seen. I’m watching yesterday and one of the guys actually said LeBron looked fierce in practice. I’m like fierce in practice? What the hell does that mean? He was fierce in the second day of training camp. You’re like come on man, he really didn’t say that did he. This summer with LeBron and all the stuff that went on is like a bad movie. You just can’t make this stuff up.”

I’m sorry, but this is not news. Not to me, and certainly not to millions of honest basketball fans around the world.
(Notice I said “honest”, laffs, so you already don’t qualify – keepin it real)
And guess what? If LeBron gets asked that same question, he has a similar answer. He’d say he would win, too. And that’s the way it should be.
Now ask a slightly different question, like “3 on 3 at Rucker, who wins?” Then the answer is totally different.
Kobe: Oh, I’d kill him. I’d lead my guys in and we’d take him out.
LeBron: Well, who can LeBron have on LeBron’s team? ‘Cause LeBron needs to have two other top quality players for LeBron to team up with, or else LeBron might lose not once, not twice, not three times, not four, not five, not six…

    • Funny Lebron fans

Do these people have any better things to do? They feel so insecure about idolizing Lebron that they have to troll around to defend him? Like idol, like fans. 1 word: Insecurity. LMAO

I’m starting to think this “laffs atu” idiot is LeBron himself. He’s certainly dumb enough to be.

    • laffs atu!

All talk and no action makes laffs atu a DULL GIRL!!!!

    • LR

Why do you bother posting? Do you go around finding a chance to Degrade yourself?

As much as you trying your best to defend your idol, you’re just showing everyone that you’re the prime example of the typical fan following Lebron.

Idiocy at its best. Lebron and his fans alike.

  • Ryan

Agreed. Kobe and Lebron would both say they could beat the other in a one on one game. But, HONESTLY, please use your brain instead of people dimwitted fools. Lebron has YOUTH, POWER, and the ABILITY to drive the ball MUCH BETTER than Kobe; while Kobe admittedly has a much better shot, in a one on one game, which one is more likely to get the win? Three pointers miss (quite often, even from the best shooters), driving the ball like Lebron does, well, let’s just say that its much harder to miss. Now, based on pure logic, tell me, would you want a 97% success rate on a 2 point shit or a 66% success rate on a 3 point shot.

    • showtime4eva

we are talking about KOBE BRYANT here! the greatest E-V-E-R ! logic say’s Kobe wins.that’s what he does,he wins.

    • Really?!

Your logic is skewed. Kobe has one on one defense down to a science. With nobody to screen Kobe, Lebron ain’t getting to the hope as easy as you make it sound. Kobe may not be as quick as Lebron, but his outside shooting is exponentially better than Lebron’s, making his pumpfakes/jabsteps that much more effective as well. Seriously, do you really think Lebron can drive on Kobe all day and make it 97% of the time? lol

    • LkrFn4Lf

      10 possessions:

      LeBron: 97% (rounding up) X 10 X 2 pts = 20 pts

      Kobe: 66% (rounding up) X 10 X 3 = 21 points

      Nice logic

    • 242LakerFan

Speaking logically, let’s analyze their actual games. Kobe is one of the best post-up players in the game and that was before he went to Olajuwon for a post clinic. He grew up playing against bigger, stronger players.
LeBron, on the other hand, is often criticised for his lack of a post-up game, despite his intimidating size and strength. One on one ball is all about- you guessed it- post-up moves.
Conclusion? Well, you figure it out

242, you know that we’ve got some real dense ignorant fools up in here. You asking them to figure it out is like asking them the answer to the square root of 9. It’s extremely simple and right in your face, but they just can’t give you the correct answer! In conclusion… you’re gonna have to spell it out for them!

    • Robert.

242 is absolutely correct. And, in my experiences playing 1×1 (not just me, but observing others), the ‘quick’ guard tends to have an advantage over the bigger ‘slower’ (possibly more physically athletic) player.
Guards ‘can’ blow by their larger counterparts easily in 1×1 (not as easy in full court or even smaller, 3×3 games with more players). To that, add Kobe’s post up mastery (as 242 mentions), and there’s no competition.
Also, Kobe has been ‘all D’ for years. His D is ‘face up’ D which has a greater chance of holding back LeBron than the reverse (who ‘tends’ to be a ‘run in back of you’ shot blocker).
I suspect that LeBron will have trouble with Kobe’s ‘pull up’ jump shot, which is ‘quite’ unguardable. LeBron on the other hand, will have to ‘run over’ Kobe to get to the basket, and also have to rely on his 3-point (or long range) shot – his 2 only weapons.
Kobe has the best basketball footwork, probably in ‘history’, so … deck is stacked in Kobe’s favor.

  • Westcoast B!tch

This is what separates Kobe vs. everyone else cuz he accepts every challenge and always feels that he is the baddest mutha fukkka on the court. Damn I can’t wait for Tuesday! Go Lakers!!! Fukk the Heat!!!

lebronze would back the fragile bryant ,my pinkie is why i miss 20 shots a night .youth and muscle ……..kobe can`t bring gasoft every where.

    • LkrFn4Lf

When has Kobe ever used the finger as an excuse? NOT ONCE. Toughest guy in the leage. What do you think is the result when LeBron breaks a finger? And I like how your argument is “youth and muscle”. That’s all LeBron is compared to Kobe. I like how you LeBron fans never make the argument based on SKILL, because EVEN YOU know LeBron’s skills aren’t even CLOSE to Kobe’s.

    • le-elbow =)

didnt lebron complain about his elbow that was never really injured, and answer my question do you call lebron lebronze because he can never get first place, please answer dude you never do

Wow, someone I can respect even less than laffs atu. That’s quite an achievement.

  • daboss1848

any realization that the game of basketball is five players vs. five players?

    • 242LakerFan

Except when they play one-on-one, or three-on-three.

    • 24/8

Yes, but it can be played one-on-one. Not only would Kobe beat LeCon one-on-one, so would Gasol.

  • yash

lol before the guy finished the question he just said. “Id win” with a *come on now, you know me* face

  • LaKeR bOy

  • Robert.

What else do we expect Kobe to say? He can’t deflect the question, or it would seem like he’s conceding. Also, he won’t ever say he would ever lose to anyone, ever. Why would he?
And, we will never see a Kobe vs. LeBron game. Even if we did, it wouldn’t be a “Kobe in his prime” vs. “LeBron in his prime”.
So, a one on one is entirely hypothetical. It’s like Kobe vs. MJ. We can only imagine what a game like that would be like. 242 is right about 3×3.
Actually, my favorite comment about a ‘hypothetical’ match was mentioned from Hulk Hogan on, I think it was the Arsenio Hall show (at the time). He claimed he could defeat Mike Tyson (yeah right). But what else would we expect him to say?

  • Robert.

Actually, they should have a “Kobe vs. LeBron” show for sports ‘other than’ basketball (and, executive producer, Steve Nash).
Sports I would like to see them compete in: football, and futbol. LeBron might have the edge in football, but Kobe would definitely rule in soccer. Kobe would win in tennis (he has more ‘quick lateral movement’ capability than LeBron). Not sure about golf. LeBron would definitely win the hot dog eating contest.
    chess? nahhh, forget it.

    • LakerNationCitizen

LoL. My favorite comment so far! =P

  • lebronsukskobesnuts

kobe will destroy lebron any day lebron is a joke thts y he has 2 call d wade and bosh cuz he cant do anything

  • lebronsukskobesnuts

lebron who??????????? ohh the guy tht has to call up other guys to have a chance at the championship

  • Robert.

Wow! Skip Bayless and the ESPN crew (by majority) agree with Kobe! Maybe they were unhappy with ‘the decision’, or maybe they just know greatness, like all of us here already know.

  • Leaderfish

maybe a 28 year old kobe beats Lebron one on one but not a 32 year old kobe. Lebron is just too physical for Kobe. Would love to see it though? One on one at the allstar game would be nice. I don’t think Kobe would do it though. He would have too much to lose.

Physicality is one thing, but I think that you underestimate the mental grit too much. Kobe’s mental makeup is PHD compared to LeCunt’s GED.

Also, Kobe’s arsenal is that of the U.S. vs LeBum’s Switzerland. Kobe’s is Bruce Lee and LeCrap’s Chucky Cheese (he ain’t even Chuck Norris). Kobe’s defensive coverage is the hair on the wolf man while LeBronze is like the hair on Nicolas Cage’s dome…(beyond receding)!

Plus, Kobe would absolutely play that game! Kobe would have NOTHING to lose! People are already writing him off, like you. Kobe’s not one to back down from a challenge and he’ll most def take on LeChump to prove that he’s the top ALPHA DOG!

LeRun is the one who won’t do it! He’s got EVERYTHING to lose. He’s already lost so much based on him deciding to RUN from cleveland and teaming up with Wade and Bosh to try to take down Kobe. Then he lost even more because of that brilliant remedial school move with Maverick Carter with ‘The Decision’. And the most current stupid thing was claiming that his loss and criticisms is largely due to the race factor!

LeCryBaby’s image is already to the point of needing a massive overhaul. If he decides to play Kobe and LOSES to Kobe, it’ll be BEYOND REPAIR! He can’t and won’t chance it! He’s already lost so much, he can’t risk losing anymore! After all, he can’t cry RACISM when Kobe opens up a can of whoop @$$ all over LeDolonte’sMyDaddy!

Just remember how he shied away from the dunk contest last year. He was supposed to go up against Shannon Brown, Dwight Howard, and little Nate! He ran from little Nate! He’ll mos def run from the Mamba! The Black Mamba will destroy that little garden snake easily!

      • Leaderfish

When you play someone that is 40 pounds heavier and is also faster than you and more athletic then mental grit doesn’t mean much. Kobe would have to hit all his shots to defeat Lebron otherwise Lebron would wear him down. Kobe ain’t young anymore.

Man, they ain’t playin football! There’s no fast breaks in 1 on 1. “Kobe would have to hit all his shots to defeat Lebron otherwise Lebron would wear him down.” Don’t worry about that, Kobe would hit all his shots.

Kobe’s got so many moves… he’s like Michael Jackson to LeCrack’s Mark Madsen! It’s not like Kobe’s never played D on LeElbow before.

You’re giving LeWannaBeBillionaire way too much credit! Yes, the age and weight differential is a factor, but the Heart and skill set out weighs that! Kobe wins easily!!!!!!!

    • andyreed23

keep sucking that lbj diCc yo

      • Leaderfish

What an intelligent comment. You are a credit to our “wonderful” high schools in the usa. Thank you for displaying your intelligence.

        • lakersforever

LOL, your original answer is the shameful comment

          • Leaderfish

What is shameful is people make comments without explaining rationally. Count yourself in that group.

In fact, Kobe is SO DAMNED CONFIDENT OR COCKY that he said that “I would!” even before the guy asking the question can say a name! Kobe didn’t even wait to see what name the dude throw out. He just owned it! That’s how mentally tough and how arrogant Kobe is about his skills. He would absolutely destroy anyone that tried to play him one on one!

  • Heat Sucks

Kobe is the greatest and intelligent player I’ve ever seen.
There is absolutely unquestionable for him to beat LBJ in 1on1, more, with all Lakers’ dedication, they will kill Heats in June, 2011 or even earlier~~~hahaha, maybe Boston will do that for La. XD

  • http://twitter.com/antjys23 Anthony J.

That explains why Kobe is a ball hog, and got swept in the 2nd round.
