NBA.com: The Toronto Raptors’ Jason Kapono will defend his title in this year’s Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at New Orleans Arena as part of NBA All-Star Saturday Night.

Kapono will attempt to become the first back-to-back winner of the Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout since Peja Stojakovic won the 2002 and 2003 titles. Stojakovic will return to the competition representing the hometown New Orleans Hornets for the first time since finishing as runner-up in the 2004 competition. Stojakovic and Kapono will be joined by Western Conference starter and 10-time All-Star Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, Daniel Gibson of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Richard Hamilton of the Detroit Pistons and two-time MVP Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns.

This will be great for Kobe. I can’t wait to see him out there competing. The guy is an amazing talent from behind the arc. Check out D3moralizing by LD2k (a compilation of Kobe’s three pointers from last season).

  • e

    alright kobe!!

  • LA-KB-RD24

    KOBE gonna win this…

  • DingleBerry

I love kb more than anyone, but this goes to nash or kapano. those white boys can shoot!!!!!!

  • http://yahoo.com cfresh

the guy needs to at least have a defender guarding him to drain the 3’s.

  • Michael_23

I think Kobe is better off with a a man or 2 guarding him to shoot the 3. If there’s no pressure, he might just play around. He’s not playing for this, but if he wins it, kudos to him!

    Well that was random

  • KOBESno1FAN

    lol
I BELIEVE KOBE WILL WIN THIS BY A LANDSLIDE
IT WONT EVEN BE A COMPETITION!
IF HE DRAINS THREE FROM 5FT BEHIND THE LINE WITH 2 AND SOMETIMES 3 GUYS GUARDING HIM IMAGINE WHAT HES GONNA DO WHEN HES WIDE OPEN
I MEAN HES NEVER JUST WIDE OPEN!

AND THEY EVERYONE!!!! THIS WILL BE A TROPHY THAT KOBE HAS AND JORDAN WILL NEVER AND CAN NEVER HAVE!!!!!!! FINALLY!

  • jimmý

I think more stars should compete in these competitions. Lebron is a fruit.

    F HAWAIIAN GARDENS

  • maccassedy

    KOBE WILL WIN TRUST ME

  • ab4sure

Don’t be surprised if Kobe doesn’t win this. Kobe is a top five shooter, but he is not a catch and shoot player. He creates his own shots from every spot on the floor. These type of all around shooters usually don’t do as well as catch and shoot players. But, you never know with Kobe.

  • ab4sure

My sleeper pic… is Richard “Rip” Hamilton.

  • two0one7

Kobe’s not the favorite, but if he catches fire, watch out. I’m more concerned with his recently injured finger. Hopefully it heals by then.

YO LD2k Can you post this mix i just made?

  • lalakerfan

yeah…can they supplement him with 3-4 hands in his face every time he shoots? I share a similar sentiment with some others here…kobe’s not a spot up shooter. he really shoots better with a defender draped over him and in tough positions. i’ve seen him miss wide open set shots before – he’s just not use to being that open. i think kapono will win this, but who knows

  • lalakerfan

    btw, that’s a sick jacket

  • santi

maccassedy f you i live in hawaiian gardens!…… kobe is going to be second behind Jason Kapono

  • Phant0M

    WIll the finger affect him??

    HMMMM

  • Robert

24alupinya that song is cool i didnt think i would run into a fellow puertorican in here that listened to that kind of music this band is from puerto rico? i neber heard it before i like Mana and Juanes there the best

  • allan

kobe’s not a spot up shooter, but more than anything, he’s a competitor. if he takes it seriously, he could do really well in the event.

  • somelakerfan1

i wanted him in a dunk contest not 3point shootout. ay better than nothing.

  • MILO

Shaq is not going to keep up with the Suns up-tempo style of play, he will lag behind and probably have a heart attack none the less this will be interesting to see!!!

  • MILO

Kobe will probably be tired because he’s going to be coming off of a long road trip and a very productive one at that.I am dying to see the results of this 3’s shoot out and wish him all the luck, hopefully the finger thing does not have an impact on his shooting like it did yesterday…

Heres a MEXICAN version of Sound Garden this really good check it out it reminds me of Black Hole Sun

  • Jimmy

How can the Lakers blow a lead to ATL in the 4th.

  • Sako

i don’t think he’s gonna do well because he must have the 3 contested for him to make, i mean he misses a lot of open 3s during games

  • dj matt20

[Comment ID #25168 Will Be Quoted Here]

if he does take it more seriously then that would mean he would turn into a better clutch player, and at the same time become a 3 point threat also added to his game? pssh! Kobe should get his ring fitted after that. lol

  • http://www.thelakersnation.com Fred A.

    Trust me on this one.
Kobe has this one in the bag!!!!!
He is the best pure shooter in the league.

  • Jack

Kobe may not be able to win this one. Look at Jason Kapono’s pratice at nba.com its jst too much .
