Kobe confirms he’ll be a Laker next season

A little different than a few years back, eh?

O.C. Register: Asked before practice if he could imagine playing for anyone but the Lakers next year, Bryant said: “No.”

    ummmm…wasn’t that obvious?? lol

well, the reason Kobe ever considered leaving the Lakers was the lack of talent around him. Now that Gasol and Fisher are here and Bynum is developing, Kobe knows his chances to build another dynasty around him are pretty big. So why in hell would he leave?
The man is a champion and he wants to win and Lakesr are his best chance to accomplish that.

Kobe needs to take a pay cut so that the lakers can resign both LO AND ARIZA…. TO IT FOR THE TEAM KB24

    @ 30mil average per season. Its a no brainer…

I Agree KOBE NEEDS TO TAKE A PAY CUT AND SIGN BOTH ARIZA AND LO, IF HE TRULY WANTS TO WIN, HE NEEDS TO TAKE A PAY CUT AND KEEP THIS TEAM TOGETHER! SORRY BUT SASHA AND FARMAR HAVE TO GO. TRADE BOTH THESE GUYS AND GET ANOTHER GOOD PG AND THE LAKERS WILL BE BACK IN THE HUNT FOR A BACK TO BACK CHAMPIONSHIP!

Kobe’s not going to take a pay cut for various reasons but one of the main ones has to do with the precedent it would set when other players are negiotating new contracts. What I do think he will do is have his deal structured in such a way that it gives the Laker more flexibility to sign both LO and Trevor.

Wait a minute… the question was if he could imagine playing for anyone but the Lakers next year, and his answer was “no”! That’s hardly saying that “I’m staying and I’m not leaving and you quote me on that!” Just because he can’t imagine playing for anyone else doesn’t mean that he won’t. Well, at this point, it’s extremely unlikely that he will. I mean, he’s gonna win his fourth ring tomorrow and why would he leave if he just won a ring? With this current core he’s gonna continue to have a high chance of winning again!

I have said this before and just agree with the others that are saying that now… he NEEDS TO RESTRUCTURE HIS CONTRACT AND TAKE A PAY CUT (if need be)! If it comes down to the Lakers just can’t afford to pay for both LO and Ariza, then Kobe needs to put his money where his mouth is, LITERALLY!

He griped about how the organization didn’t seem to be keeping their words about building a winning team around him and that he wanted out! Now that the Lakers have proven that they are committed to winning, it’s Kobe’s turn to show that he’s committed as well! He played his @$$ off during this series and is showing that he’s deserving of the Finals MVP, but he definitely couldn’t have gotten here without the timely plays of LO and Ariza, both of which are a MUST sign for future years!

Magic did it for Terry Teagle! Terry friggin Teagle of all players. If Magic Johnson can do that for TT, who’s not even close to being the caliber of players of LO and Ariza, then Kobe can definitely do it for them both.

We’re probably getting ahead of ourselves a little bit here. We have no idea what will happen. Let’s just see the boys win the championship tomorrow first, then we’ll let the Lakers Organization, Kobe, those 2 invaluable guys and their agents work it out themselves!

    GO LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone should take a paycut next year it should be Sasha and Luke. Talk about throwing money down a sewer, these two suck BIGTIME!
