Lakers Jazz BasketballL.A. Times: Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, who was so sick with an upset stomach for Saturday night’s game against the Utah Jazz that he needed intravenous fluids before the game and at halftime, was feeling much better Monday.

Bryant appeared to have little energy during the 102-94 loss in Salt Lake City, but the Lakers took Sunday off and had a light practice Monday, allowing him time to get well.

Although Bryant did not practice Monday before the team left for a four-game trip, the 11-time All-Star was no longer sick and is expected to play tonight against the Chicago Bulls, a Lakers spokesperson said.

Derek Fisher, 35, the oldest Lakers player, also sat out practice Monday.

However, Bryant is still dealing with a fractured right index finger, an injury he suffered Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Staples Center.

Playing despite his illness and injury against the Jazz, Bryant shot poorly, going seven for 24 and scoring 16 points as the Lakers had their 11-game winning streak snapped.

The Lakers had little trouble beating the Bulls, 108-93, at Staples Center on Nov. 19, in Pau Gasol’s first game of the season.
