January 26th, 2014 — Today, Kobe Bryant gave the basketball world an update on his health.

Bryant will be evaluated by doctors on Tuesday back in Los Angeles and hopes to ramp up his activity soon.

“I’ll finally do more things than just riding a bike. That’s killing me. Absolutely killing me.”

All of the “tank theorists” that believe Bryant should sit out the rest of the season (to help the Lakers better position themselves for this year’s NBA draft) need to realize two things.

One, if the Lakers truly hope to land a superstar this off-season via free agency or sign and trade, Bryant must prove his health is not an issue going forward.

The other is that the Lakers realize Bryant does not have too many basketball years left, and they are going to explore every option to ensure they give him the best possible chance to win ring number six.

In six games this season, Bryant averaged 13.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists in 29.5 minutes per game.
