Kobe Bryant becomes Lakers’ franchise all-time leading scorer

Kobe Bryant has entertained us for nearly 13 and a half years. He is, what I, and many others consider the greatest scorer in NBA history. While that is debatable, he is, now, officially #1 on the all-time scoring list in Los Angeles Lakers history.

Jerry West has long held the record as the Lakers’ franchise all-time leading scorer (25,192) for many years. Kobe Bryant has broken the milestone on Feburary 1st, 2010 against Memphis, ironically, the two year anniversary of the the Pau Gasol trade. He has also moved into 14th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

The record breaking basket came in the third quarter as Kobe recieved a breakaway dunk from Jordan Farmar who threw in a 2-hand jam (pictured to left). The crowd is still buzzing as he sits on top of the most illustrious franchise in NBA history.

Jerry West recently said he “was very happy” for Bryant nearing the milestone.

Here is a video of West talking about Kobe breaking the Lakers franchise record held by the great Laker, and logo, himself…
